Twenty-one-year-old law student student Charlotte Holloway isn’t the type of girl to lust after things she can’t have. But when she starts working for the sexy and mysterious Noah Cutler, Charlotte can’t help but dream about the gorgeous billionaire, even though she knows it’s just a fantasy. Men like Noah – gorgeous, dark, and driven-- usually aren’t interested in women like her.

Noah Cutler is a man who doesn’t take no for an answer. His drive to go after exactly what he wants has made him one of the most powerful men in the city. And while he could have his pick of any woman, his sights are set on Charlotte. And he won’t stop until he’s taken control of every inch of her deliciously curvy body…

EXCERPT:

“You are so fucking sexy,” Noah rasped. “Come here. Come to me.”

I got up and crossed the room to him, and he pulled me into his lap. His hand
slid up my thigh, pushing my skirt with it. His other hand slid up to the back of my head, and pushed me toward him. “I’m going to fuck you again, Charlotte,” he said. I could feel his cock hard against me, and I moaned. “This time I’m going to fuck you for a long time. Do you think you can handle it?”

“Yes,” I breathed.

“Tell me you want me to fuck you.”

“I want you to fuck me,” I said. “Please, I need you to fuck me.”

“Say my name.” He dipped a finger into my mouth and I sucked on it softly, watching his eyes blaze as I did it.

“Fuck me, Noah,” I whispered. “Please, I want you to fuck me.”

He kissed me then, softly, which was a surprise after all the dirty things he’d been saying to me. His tongue was warm and perfect, his mouth exploring mine, probing hungrily.

I pushed myself against the hardness of his dick, but just like he had earlier, he reached out and held my hips, stopping me. “No,” he said. “You don’t get to control this. I do. And we’re going to go nice and slow.”

He began to unbutton my shirt, stopping as soon as my breasts were exposed. He ran a finger over my cleavage.

“I’m going to explore every single inch of these hot, sexy curves of yours. Do you understand that, Charlotte?”

“Yes,” I said. I was dripping now, so turned on that I was afraid I might come without him even touching me.

He stood up, his hands grabbing at my ass. I wrapped my legs around him and he picked me up like it was nothing, like I was as light as a feather. I buried my face in his shoulder.

I hesitated for a just a second, right before he carried me into his bedroom.

If I did this, there was no turning back…

So, I have read ALL 15 "books" in this series, and I have no desire to write 15 reviews, so I am going to write ONE review to cover the series-- or at least most of it. I might write another review for book 15 which kind of summarizes the series or adds points/ thoughts for those who have read the series. I am going to do my best to keep this review spoiler free.

Ok. This is a true serial story-- you know, like the ones published in newspapers hundreds of years ago... The series, SO FAR, consists of 15 "books" that are each about 40 pages long, with book 15 being twice that length. To you or I, it feels like each book is about a chapter. Lucky for YOU, the "books" have all been published. For those of who stated the series back in January, we have been spoon-fed each of these "books" over a 7 month period. YOU get to download them all and read in one sitting- if you so choose. MAYBE, lucky for you, if you have Kindle Unlimited. The books are free through this subscription. I have not done the math to figure out how much the series would cost if you don't have this awesome feature from amazon. Anyway.

When you go to buy the books, you will notice that most of the ratings hover just under 4.0 stars, with a few "books" at or above. I honestly believe the stars are more a reflection of the author's publishing practices than of the books themselves. There is a lot of talk on the book reviews about how long people have had to wait for books to be published, the lack of response or "contactability" of the author, Hannah Ford, the pricing, and the lengths of the "books"-- notice I am using "" marks around the word book???

If you remove all that angst from the reviews, what you get is that this is a solid, at times, intense story with elements of bdsm, an alpha male, and a dang good mystery to boot. Charlotte is a law student. Noah is a famous lawyer accused of murder. One of Charlotte's professors is famous for having his students help on cases. Charlotte and another student, Josh, are the lucky kids who get to help with Noah's defense. And so the story goes...

But this isn't a normal court case by any means, because Charlotte already slept with Noah, and Noah thinks he knows it all and is a bit-- or a lot- difficult throughout the story.

As you read through each book, there is some pretty hot sex with strong elements of bdsm (an actual ball gag), a bdsm club called Force, a psychopath, and some interesting twists and turns. Those twists and turns are what make the story so great.

I would caution you, that around book 14, some pretty serious shit goes down, which could be a trigger for some people. It was book 14 or 15 (can't remember) where I actually got teary-eyed.

Now, some words of caution-- Charlotte is not always brilliant. She is whiny, and needy, and a stupid girl. Noah is a downright prick at times. I felt some of the bdsm stuff wasn't realistic. She gets her ass whipped, but there's never any mention of soreness or stiffness or any type of after care, which I think is unrealistic. Something else happens near the end, and it feels like the characters just get up and walk away, with no trouble at all-- someone ends up with a bunch of stitches (50) and is having sex and lifting all sorts of things, and going about life as normal 24 hours later-- just not truly realistic...

So, here's where my biggest complaint comes in, and why I gave so few stars to some of the books...there are grammar issues. Ugh! I hate that! With the shortness of some of the books, you just got into the flow, and BAM! It's over. You won't have that trouble because you can get them all at one time. Finally, when you near the end of book 15, you know there is no way the whole series is going to be wrapped up... And you start thinking.... Oh no!!! NOT another book???? And inside you just wanna scream a little bit. Then you get to the end, and here's what it says-- no spoiler!!!

"END OF WHAT HE WANTS, SEASON ONE Look for Book Sixteen, Coming Soon!"

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! You have gotta be kidding me!!!!! So, by the end of "book" 15 Noah's case is worked out for good or bad, and now we are going to start an entire NEW GROUP OF BOOKS!!!!!!!!!!

    WHAT THE WHAT??????

    ARE YOU KIDDING ME????

    SERIOUSLY????

I don't know that I'm going to stick around for SEASON TWO!!! All the reasons above that readers were so annoyed with, are still happening... It's just darn frustrating!!!!!!! Ugh!

THis book started out good. I was hopeful for a good read. It wasn't until book 6 I started to become a little bored I only kept going because I had read the first 6 and thought there would only be 2 or 4 more. Boy was I wrong. The only thing going for this book is that it's on Kindle unlimited. I would not have continued it if I didn't have kindle unlimited. There seems to be sixteen books in total and they are not worth buying unless you want to read a series where you will skip half of each book because it's just full of pointless sex scenes and description.

The book is very repetitive, the characters are not well though out. I still don't even know how old the male main character is. The only thing that lets you know he's a billionaire (which I find hard to believe when all he is, is a lawyer) is the title. The female main character is not much better either. For a law student she's the dumbest girl alive, she's very naive and seems to have no self respect for herself whatsoever but apparently has enough pride to get on her knees and beg a guy to f*** her.

The only part of the book that gave me any shock or even remote interest was when the killer is revealed and that isn't until book 12 and then you have 3 books of the girl with the killer and the 16th book is just more drivel.

I feel like the writer just winged the book. The safe word for the couple was blue to begin with then it's changed to red. There are scenes where the girl is tied up and then suddenly not and there is no indication of her been untied.

The book does no favours for the BDSM community, there's a line between BDSM and abuse. I have read many BDSM books and none have seem so abuse driven as this one. The writer doesn't seem to know fully about the BDSM community or she does and see's it in a completely different view to what it's suppose to be.

The writing is good in the sense of quality of words, but there's just too much description that just gets you bored and dis-interested. There's a lot of phrases over used by the protagonist: 'disassociated from myself and left my body,' 'into a cacophony of sound,' 'he is so gorgeous, so beautiful, so controlled, so sexy,'

From the beginning there's no realism to the book (I know it's a book and doesn't have to represent real life but, it's got to be relate-able,) the main female character is supposed to be timid and quite sociably awkward yet she can have sex with a stranger she's not said more than twenty words to in an alley. It really does show how weak the character is. And in the last few books the character goes through a very traumatic event that would leave most women scared and unable to trust anyone regardless of how much they love them. This part of the book really irked me and makes me think the writer has no respect for victims of rape or sexual abuse. The character brushes off her trauma like it was nothing and is able to jump into bed with the 'love of her life' (do bare in mind she's not even known him a week)

The book is a good read if you want a drip fed book that will cost you a lot in the long run. You will be very disappointed and feel like you've wasted your money. If I had spent money on this I would have demanded my money back from Amazon. It is pure drivel the writers should be ashamed of this 'book,' she should really get herself an editor as I know from looking at this that it would have been cut down to no more than 8 books. I could write better and in fact I have.

The fact I have given it one star is because it's on Kindle unlimited.

This series has the potential to be amazing but misses the mark on so many levels. First and foremost is that there are now 20 "books" and it's still going. The writing and editing get worse as it goes along. The "hero" is a two-dimensional man-child. The price of each "book" is ridiculous, especially when they are really nothing more than chapters. I can't even recommend reading if you have Kindle Unlimited. If the author would actually write a novel that is fully proofed and edited by a professional editor, I would be interested. She writes a really good heroine and has a great legal plot line but that's not enough.

  • Jessica

    How many books are there?!??!!!!

How many freaking books are there to this "series" to just make up one story?! I hate when the authors do that. Waste of time

  • Debbie

I came across this book today and thought it would be good. I loved it. It's very, very short! But it gets you interested enough to see what will happen next. My only complaint is that I wasn't able to find any information on when to expect book two, or how long the series will be. That said....

Charlotte is a quiet law student. She makes good grades, studies and doesn't have much time for guys. While attending a friend's bachelorette party at a popular bar, she sees him across the room. She doesn't think she stands a chance earning his interest, but when a drunk hits on her, he's by her side in an instant. He doesn't give her his name and after a heated encounter in the alley, she can't stop thinking bout him.

When a fellow law student calls her in the middle of the night to meet their professor, she's excited when she's told they may be able to help on a possible murder case. They're to meet Noah Cutler, an attorney who may be arrested. Imagine her surprise when it turns out Noah is the man from the bar.

So far, I loved it. Looking forward to reading more.

  • Christin

So I have read all available books in this series so far. I am waiting on book 22 to be released. Even though I can't get enough of it, I still have to say how aggravating it is as a strong willed woman to read these types of books. I know I keep punishing myself by continuing to read them, and there for should not be bitching. But honestly what gets me the most is how these books take a strong willed female and turn her into a sex craved weak willed woman just to get what she wants from him which is sex. She gives up everything, quits fighting back, and allows double standards in the relationship just so she can stay with a man she loves and to continue to keep having earth shattering sex. REALLY? In my opinion is she is going to be so weak and allow that then she deserves what she gets. But it would be nice to see a version where the man ends up being the broken down one for a change. The woman in control. Either way I will continue to read just because I am curious how this is going to end.

I loved these serials.... It was awesome because it was on KU, so I didn't mind waiting a few weeks or whatever for the next installment to come out. I was invested in the characters and the story. Now it's no longer on KU and for an installment, which is the length of a chapter in a good book, is 2.99 for 35 pages give or take. I'm sorry to this author who I thought was awesome and did a great job weaving an amazing story but I can't continue this serial. I will never be able to justify that much for so less. If you end this serial at 14 it would be almost 42.00 for all and that is way beyond outrageous. So in closing Mrs. Ford we had a great run but I'm sorry to say our adventure is over!!! I wish you all the luck in your career because you're a great writer!

  • Cindy

I loved this series....am still loving this series. Could not even update or review before reading the next one. I sometimes read like 3 of these books a day!

Some of it was a bit rough for my taste and I can not believe that people have that much sex but each to his own in my opinion!

The storyline was very interesting! Book 17 needs to come like in now!

  • Gemma

I have kinda given up on this book now. even though I have made it to book 20, because i couldnt put it down, but come on £1.99 per chapter its beyond a joke. think it should be free the rest of it! It could be a decent book and it should come in 3 books only, I would pay £1.99 per book if it was a full book. FED UP

  • Dora Harvey

This is the first time I started reading Hannah Ford’s stories, but I will only buy them through Amazon Unlimited because they are short stories and I refuse to pay for approx. 33 pages. I think Hannah Ford makes these stories too short, but they are interesting and keep you wanting to read more. I love the characters of Charlotte Halloway and Noah Cutter.

  • Zee Wyatt

Seriously? ! too short, too unbelievable. kinda sucked

  • Britt

What a freaking... encounter is the only word that comes to mind. That's a very interesting how we meet story to tell others

When I read the blurb to this book I was intrigued and yeah it happened again I did not notice the page number – and please all fellow readers do me a favor – CHECK THE PAGENUMBERS – if you have the chance before you purchase a book.
I did not do that and imagine my surprise this is not a book – no if you ask me it is not even a novella or a short story – if I am being nice I might say it’s a chapter of a book.

What bugs me the most is that the plot is interesting – but could I recommend it ? Well I would have to give you a very separated opinion which makes it very hard to give a rating.
If you have kindle unlimited I would say GO for it – because it is good BUT the author keeps squeezing the last out of it and the more the “chapters” (so far its at NO 24) continue the more it feels like she is dragging it out- so I am not sure where we are going.

BUT if you are a normal reader buying book by book – I will say something I never said before …. Even though this book is good – STAY AWAY FROM buying it – sorry – but so far 24 “books” in – you would have paid more than 80 $ for around 1200 pages that would equal around 4 normal books … meaning you paid more than 20$ for one ebook …. And when was the last time you did that ? To support my opinion I opened the main kindle books page on amazon and searched randomly for the most expensive eBook there it was “The silent Corner” by Dean Koontz for 17$ and it has 466 pages (while I was calculating with 300) and I would never buy that kindle book because the hardcover of that book listed right beside it was CHEAPER than the eBook which is also something I can never understand as printing a physical book – with all side costs - should make a book more expensive than an electronical file. But that is an ongoing story for another time. But lets face the facts a random ebook of average page count costs less than 10 $ and in most cases even less than 5$.

The story is good yes but it is not THAT good that I could encourage a purchase with this pricing structure. Especially with no end in sight this feels like one of those collection / construction sets you can buy where you receive parts each week for a few bucks and you think “its not that much” but once you finish the collection (and you have no idea when that might be) you realize that you paid like 500$ for something that you needed to put together on your own while others bought the finished product for less than half …But naturally at first that “half” sounded like a lot and it seemed so much cheaper to spend only those tiny amounts ….

Even with as good as that story is I refuse to support this new system of chapter books that seems to be getting more and more popular by only reviewing this book based on its story. Everything about a book matters and the price is a big part of a book. So without “kindle unlimited” I can not recommend this book.

    Well... that was interesting.

First off, I HATE these serial reads. Stories that are chopped up into 15 or more parts is just ridiculous and if I hadn't gotten this series for free from a friend, I prolly wouldn't be reading it. That said, the way the H and h come together is a bit over the top. There's an instant attraction between them but i wasn't a big fan of the 'bang her and leave her' thing he did. If not for the murder case going on, would he have ever connected with her again??

Not sure how this is going to go, but it was an interesting start.

Everyone, if you want authors to stop writing 'serials that only have two or three chapters at a time' STOP buying them!!!

  • ✰ Charlie ✰ Chisholm

I found this series on KU and they are the first book I have read by this author.
This is a very interesting start to this series and I think they will keep me wanting more.
I like the characters Charlotte and Noah... a student and a lawyer... the first book is so damn hot and sexy!

  • Christina

I have read all 26 books and have loved the series!! The last book ends in a cliffhanger but I was wondering if there is going to be at least one more book to this series to close out this series? Great read and one of my favorite authors!!

  • Ziyuanyuana Hits the Book.

Weird, I dislike hero, and I dislike heroine. Heroine fidgeted the whole time, I dislike her wimpy behaviours. And I dislike hero’s behaviours, he looked heroine like measuring up whether her body was great for him to f**k. Ugh..idk but I really hate both of them. 😅😅

  • Christi Evans

    EXTREMELY combustible!!

  • shannon Stubbs

    Dirty enough

This has a great back story and it was also dirty enough to make it interesting. Sometimes you just want a trashy romance novel.

  • Sharri Buehner

Although all of the What he wants series was very good Im not happen that you basically have to pay per chapter, and it seems like it takes a very long time to even get one chapter. The series has stalled and it does not look like its going to be finished anytime soon.
