The second book in the series that readers call "absolutely epic" with a "phenomenal plot" that makes for a "gripping read."

Book #2 in the They Who Fell Series

The tower is fallen, its residents scattered or dead. A mob of human refugees swarm the city, tossed into a world they haven’t seen in years, and one Jana knows only from distant memories as a child. The ones who tore down her home would have her flee to safety, and to abandon her need to find Rhamiel and know what became of him. But the strike against the angels has returned them to their martial ways, and an army is reforming under the banner of Uzziel with the goal of eliminating any threats to the Seraphim forever. And other castes of angels have agendas of their own, eager to fill the vacuum left by the tower’s collapse.

Chaos Umpire Sits (They Who Fell #2) Reviews

...Again a great story line but a slight lack of emotional connection with the characters. I would have loved to give this book a 5 star review but I never truly felt like a part of the story. I felt like a spectator watching a great story unfold from the sidelines. I did not feel a great connection with any character and I felt there was little emotional connection between them. I did not know the depth of feeling between the lovers or friends...I wasn't even sure if there was one! Sorry, I loved the storyline and the writing style but the connection needed to be deeper between the characters...

    Great read.

I really have enjoyed this series so far. I can't wait to read the next book and see how this ends.

  • Monica

I really love where this going. My only critique would be the lack of physical description of the Lovers. I get Rhamiel is a great specimen but tell me more, gold hair, blue eyes I just need more so I can fall in love with him like Jana did. Janas "beautiful" but only Suriel says "perfectly symmetrical" which is big for the Angels, I get that. I need more cuz I really want to love them!

  • Kirsten McKenzie

Loved it. A great second book. Lots of fast paced action and a fair serving of jeopardy!
Looking forward to the third book.

The second book in this series I am giving four stars, because I liked it better than the first, and found the overall story finally coming together to give me a better idea of what's happening, and where the story is going.

While I did find this second book in the series more to my liking, I did still start skimming through certain parts of the story again. I get bored quickly if the story is jumping from one perspective to the next, and not giving me a reason to care about what is happening in one of the story streams. I realize that the streams will eventually merge, but they still need to have something to make me interested. Not all the streams flow well enough for me, but it is better in this second book.

My thoughts for the first book said that I felt it was good for YA's, and that they might like it better. This second book is darker, and has more to it. It reads more like an adult book, than the first. I am looking forward to the next book, and expect to see the story really take me on a wild flight.

    OMG OMG.
I don't know why I waited so long to read this book. I liked They Who Fell, I really did. But I wasn't completely hooked I guess. Well, this did the trick. I'm sold. I'm on the edge of my seat for the next book because I need to KNOW. That cliffhanger ending is no joke..
The one and only thing that I would change, would be that I wish Nefta hadn't died, at least not like that. I really loved her character in book one and I felt myself missing her now in book two.
I'm hoping maybe she isn't dead (I mean, a body wasn't recovered..) but, I probably won't end up getting what I wanted there.

Initially, I was not sure about this series. The first installment was interesting but failed to hook me. However, I decided to keep reading and I am glad I did. Book #2 starts off a bit slow, but it picks up as you continue to read and I found the new characters that come onto the stage to be most intriguing. Additionally, old characters that I was on the fence about resurface and I have a new appreciation for their characterizations. I am starting to feel for these characters now. Even the evil Ecanus has moments where I feel like he isn’t so bad…until he is again. The story is evolving and becoming more complicated. Kneupper’s creativity is starting to blossom and shine in this continuation.

The moves have been set in motion, and as long as you are committed to keep reading, I feel you will be rewarded for your loyalty. For a self-published story, it’s well done. It’s better than some books that come from publishers. So, don’t let the self-publishing deter you from checking this writer out. He has his act together and is a true storyteller. Well done Kneupper, I look forward to the concluding chapters to follow in book #3.

As soon as I had finished reading Book One in this series I purchased Book Two. There was no way I wasn't going to find out what happened to Rhamiel, Jana, Holt, Thane and Faye, not to mention their Angel masters. If Cassie (another character) thought things would improve with the collapse of the tower, was she in for a shock. The story just barrels along without drawing a breath. Action writing at it's best with the occasional nod at romance. I'm now reading Book Three.
Shucks, this series is a trilogy!
    Oh woe is me.

Well so the plot moved along. There was almost a war (or an actual battle) and more intrigue. I am excited about how it ended, however, I still feel completely detached from ALL the characters. I've never read a book like this before where I was so engaged in the story but had no emotional connection to any of the characters. I'd even settle for hating one of them but so far, I don't even dislike Eccanus. Its completely odd.

Yep, another baddie angel book - great idea. Delicious new narcissistic villain - but he is just a bit too wordy with all of his rhetoric, also the cherubs (odd creatures) get too much narrative, and cause plot lag. great images, but doesn't it just quite work. not enough Rhamiel, Jana or romance. well written.

Rhamiel and Jana continue on the story . Jana is looking for Rhamiel she has to find him to tell him she is pregnant. She is worried he didn’t make it , he is worried she didn’t . Jana is with the humans and they all need help in one way or another . They angels want to bring about war. This series is amazing and I can’t wait to read the next book

    Better than Book 1

Chaos Umpire Sits justified my reading it! Much more fluid than Book 1, which, in my opinion was too disjointed. I'm on to Book 3 now, curiosity further piqued now that the first fallen angel, Lucifer, will appear. I wondered when he would enter this tale! Angelocalypse continues!

This second part of the trilogy dragged for me a touch with Uzziel, and it definitely felt more like a set up for the final part of the group. That being said, seeing some of the characters flesh out, especially as Thane goes around the countryside, is very enjoyable.

An amazing follow up to the first

Thrilling from the start. Couldn't put it down! What a thrill ride from start to finish. Wonderfully written vivid characters fast moving plot. Excellent series loved every word Highly Recommend

    Much faster paced

I found the first book was steady paced, two storylines and an uncertainty as to how they'd merge.
This story, was much quicker paced and it had been a while since I read a book so quickly.

    Now on to book 3

  • Melodi Daniel

    Another great read!

This author pulls you in again to the conflict among humans and Angels. The struggles to stay alive in an unforgiving environment and the love of one Angel with a human. Can't wait to read the next book!

  • Terri West

The story from book 1 continues to build in this book, the only thing I didn't like is that the cherubs were a little too sci fi.

  • Caran

Really enjoying this series! Like the characters, the ones that you're meant to like anyway. An interesting look at angels and what would happen if...

  • barbara nunley

    Very interesting

I can't wait to read the next one! I'll be heading to Amazon to download it now!I hole you enjoy it also.

    5 stars

I don’t often give 5 star reviews, but damn this was good! I devoured this book in a day and a half. Now on to book 3!

  • Holly

    Great read thanks

Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Kind of wanted Thane and Jenna to fall for each other though.
