giveto Crossing the line The geg Series bookwritten by Jacquelyn Ayres

I've grown to really like Jacquelyn Ayres over the last few weeks, the more I read books from an author the easier it is for me to identify their style of writing and predict where they are going with their stories, but this lady kept me second guessing and on the edge of my seat.

These books can be read as a standalone but i highly recommend you start from bookas characters from each book are featured along the serie.

Madelyn Maddie St Claire, is a Psychotherapist and a extremely good one at that, she's helped many different people overcome their fears and deal with situations in life, but there's one she can't seem to break through her own personal issues.

Declan Pierce is a cellist and a damn good one at that, now if only he could learn to deal with life and all his grief and play that like he does the Cello.
But reality is unbelievably different to playing the cello,

Will the both learn to deal with their own demons This series brings the crazy! Crossing the Line is the third book in the GEG series full of standalone books.
These women are crazy bitches and I fucking love it! The top reason for loving them is because they own it! They might be a crazy group but they are the best friends anyone could ask for.
Ok now, if you have read the other books then you know who The Viking is, If not, well he is the hot Australian that Maddie daydreams about on a daily basis,

Declan "The Viking" is the man of Maddie's dreams, Tall, shoulder length hair, intriguing, and one hell of a listener, During Maddie's one free hour at her office on Wednesdays she spends it with Declan, while he waits for his son's session with his therapist.
Maddie is not used to being the talker, she is a psychotherapist that specializes in phobias so it's nice to be on the other end but she wants to know more about the mysterious Declan.
But, he shuts down when she asks about him, What is keeping him from asking her out She feels the chemistry but maybe it's only one sided

Declan wants to let Maddie in.
He really does but he is scared shitless, It's been over a decade since he felt this way and that relationship tore him apart, Still does. And he also has his son to think about, The only woman he has had in his life on the daily has been Rosie, his housekeeper/nanny/second mother.
He is lost when it comes to Maddie, So mush so that he sabotages himself when he does finally step up to the plate, . . can he really do this Fall again

Declan and Maddie don't exactly start out with roses and butterflies.
Communication is shot when it comes to them in the beginning but stick with them! Don't give up.
Because once they find their way it's awesome, It's not perfect but it's real, It's messy, crazy, beautiful, hilarious, and sexy, Did I mention hilarious Omg, . . I don't think I have snorted so much,

This book isn't only about Declan and Maddie but it's also about Hunter, Declan's son, I do love a single dad love story, And, I can't forget about Maddie's group

of friends, The crazy bitches. They are seriously the best, They are crazy but also protective, supportive, loving and will always have each other's backs, Especially in a crisis. Love them!!!

Overall, . . it's a hilarious, sexy, fun, emotional read, I will say the couple did piss me off more than once but life isn't always easy, right There are some very serious subject matters in the book but with the way Jacquelyn writes, she will make you still feel positive.
Just let the group of friends, I can't wait for the next book!

P, S. The way the characters talk to the audience is genius, I felt like I was part of the story,

Quotes:

“Are you trying to skip dinner, altogether”
“No, no, I need to eat before midnight, or we might have a whole Gremlins scenario on our hands, ” I pat his chest.

Tell us the truth you get a running start to climb that mountain, dont you”

“Im so fond of the random things you say, Maddie never apologize.

Warning: This book contains serious and sensitive subjects such as mental health issues, and unimaginable loss.
Although this is a standalone, I do recommend reading the series in order because all characters subsequent stories continue on in each book even though they are not the main focus.

Psychotherapist, Madelyn St, Claire, has all the answers, At least, thats what the plaques on her wall say, There isnt a fear shes met that she hasnt helped a client blast through, So, why cant she work through her own

Oh, thats right

Shes been so busy helping everyone else through their challenges over the years, including her best friendsthe GEGsthat she never even realized she had any of her own true fears.
Then again, she didnt have a reason to until he came along,

Cellist, Declan Pierce, can hit all the right notes, as long as hes hitting them on stage.
When hes off wellhes off. So, he keeps his head down and tries to stay focused on his career and his son, Hunter.
They have shared in a trauma that would bring most closer, However, theirs has only weighted their bond down, slowly causing them to drift further and further apart,

That is, until a beacon of light shines through,
That beacon is about fivefootnothing, all curves, heart, brains, and no BS,

But that is only part of this story,

Its a long road to Happily Ever After, Maddie and Declan learn that it takes more than just the two of them to get there, and its not a smooth stroll.
Its not meant to be, though, is it

Life can give you whiplash, Buckle in and hold tight to those closest to you because, honestly

It takes a village to make love epic.
What another home run from Jacquelyn Ayres! Crossing the Line is the third book in Ayres GEG series, and I cant say enough good things about this series.
After picking up the first book in this series Under Contract I was completely addicted to Ayres writing style and these characters.
Crossing the Line focuses on GEG “captain” Maddie and the Viking, This book is so much more than a romantic story, there are times when this book will leave you in stitches from the antics of the GEGs and at other times it will completely slay you.
Both Maddie and Dec the Australian Viking come to each other as broken people, but through growing together there broken pieces fit together in the most beautiful way.
I just could not finish this book fast enough, it was so good, I hated to see the ending, but I hope that Ayres will give each of the other GEGs a story as I cant stand to think that this is the end of the GEGs.
This is a book that could be read as a stand alone but I really recommend that it be read after first reading Under Contract and in the Mix, as the stories of each character in those stories continues in Crossing the Line.

I fell in love with this series when I read book one, Under Contract, and I've never looked back.
I was waiting rather impatiently for Maddie's story and when it finally released I couldn't get started fast enough.
I was rewarded with a book that made me laugh and cry and reminded me of the definition of true friendship.

This book is all the things we've come to expect from the GEG's, It is laugh out loud funny and full of WTF moments, But it is also so much more, This story is heartbreaking and even gut wrenching at times, Yeah, you will laugh but you will cry and you may find yourself wondering "why" on more than one occasion.
But don't let any of that keep you away, This book is amazing!

Declan and Maddie meet in what some might consider to be an unconventional way.
They have more than their share of misunderstandings and setbacks while they get to know each other, But through it all they learn to forgive and in the end they learn to love, When tragedies strike, Maddie and Dec lean on each other more than ever as they try to sort through the remains of the brokenhearted left behind.
But with tragedy comes a bond that little can break,

There are more funny moments than sad so, don't go thinking it's "one of those" books.
We still get the whole gang of GEG's and their crazy clan of cohorts, It wouldn't be a proper GEG book without the hilarious banter of all the girls and Jay! Let's not forget Jay.
But this time around we also get a hot sexy Viking and Aussie Kisses added to the mix!! And it is a welcome addition!! But be warned, you will need tissues.

All in all Jacquelyn Ayres gifts us with a beautiful story of love, acceptance and forgiveness.
One so packed with emotion that I needed a day to process all the things that happened, She takes a difficult subject and handles it with the love and care that it deserves, She mixes in a healthy does of laughs so that things don't stay too heavy for too long.
And she gives us a fictional group of friends that help each other laugh and heal, A group that I would love to call mine! I can't wait to read Julie's story, I know that it won't disappoint!
