is a wonderful book it hooks you on the first page and doesn't let go, Grace and Sloan's story is full of emotions, and you can feel every one of them, It has just the right amount of drama and suspense to keep you turning the pages, This is a book you don't want to miss!

Nothing like a Southern Gentleman no plot spoilers here!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The writer drew me in from the first chapter with the promise of a backstory of the life of Grace.
There was enough conflict and plot twists to keep me reading and enough sweet love to keep me warm and fuzzy
Grace is terrified to make friends and put down roots because of her past, but southern hospitality wins out in the form of apology baked goods and a hunk of a local cop named Sloan.
After an adorable game of cat and mouse they come together in a believable love story that is complicated by his ex and a past that that she thought was behind her.
There was humor, hot sex and sweet love, . . It's a relatively quick read that I will most definitely read it again, NO cliffhanger with a beautiful happy ending, I am hoping that the stories of some of the secondary characters will be released in the future, You cannot go wrong with this book!
This story just scooped me, up and had me hooked from the start, The story is entertainingly layered with likeable characters, Grace has made an effort to survive and thrive, having left behind untenable conditions, Harland Creek seems like the soft spot Grace needs to regroup and rejuvenate her soul, The town's sheriff Sloan has sworn off women after his last relationship ended acrimoniously, Grace and Sloan have issues and have sworn off romantic entanglements, However fate has other plans for this pair as friendship, healing and romance develop, All does not run smoothly as secrets, interference, allegations and revelations impact the pair, Beyond the romance in this story, I liked the spirit of resiliency and healing that rounded out the story, Grace got herself mixed up with the wrong man, and it cost her her career and almost her life, She is now on the run and, after some time, finds herself in Harland Creek, MS, She has purchased a “fixer upper,” and she plans to do most the work herself to create a home to heal her soul and hide out for a while,
Sloan is doing his own healing, his heart has been trampled, and his trust broken, His sister and Grace cross paths, does she play matchmaker
Promise of Grace is a quick read your emotions will get a workout, and we get to be introduced to side characters who I hope will show up in future books.
Thank you to Booksprout and the Author for the advanced copy this is my voluntary review,
This is the fifth book in the Harland Creek Series, a Small Town Romance, Grace and Sloanes story is beautifully written, emotional, sweet, and heartwarming, Grace is such a wonderful character, and a strong survivor, Sloane is handsome, caring, supportive, and protective, The supporting characters are interesting, I liked Sloans sister Allison, The story has drama, secrets, and twists and turns, I enjoyed it. Looking forward for more in the series, I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review, I listened to the audio version of this book, It was a very nice, enjoyable story, "Grace" is starting over while hiding from her abusive husband, She has changed her name and relocates far from New York to start over, She literally gets hit by a car in the middle of the small town of Harland Creek because neither she nor the driver was paying attention, But she isn't hurt and she and the driver Allison become friends, Allison's brother, Sloan is a police officer in town and he has personal baggage too but still tries to help Grace even tho he doesn't know her story, I thought the author did a good job at expressing Grace's situation, how she was handling it and how she works to try to get past it, I for one, can't imagine being in Grace's situation, It was a story about a serious issue, but the author did great at adding a little humor to it in a way to offer even just a little help to Grace or someone in her situation to see a tiny light at the end of that long tunnel, so to speak.
Allison and Tabitha were best friends and were hilarious, and funny and they befriended Grace,
They weregreat ladies to have as good friends! The author gave Sloan and Allison such a great sibling connection that the reader could actually feel it,
My only issue was the narration The narrator did great on all voices but Grace's, Tabitha and Allison's voices were perfect for their personalities! You really got a good sense of "who they were", Even Sloan's "voice" enhanced his personality, But the narrator made Grace sound so sad and depressed and ready to cry no matter what she was saying or who she was talking to, It kind of drug the story down a bit, but was quickly picked up when narrative changed, Grace is hiding from her past in the sweet town Harland Creek, She is in love with the the towns people, Until the local sheriff walks into her life and plays nice with her, She is done with men or is she, Sloane Jackson is the local police officer and after a bad break up he is done with woman, Until his sister decides meddle and he starts to fall for Grace and as they start to get to closer the past to haunt them, Will they finally get the happiness they deserve or will the past keep them apart,
These characters are so well written and complex I really love Grace , she is such a broken woman who has had it all in the past until a fateful day when everything falls apart.
She is one shy woman who doesn't want to be a problem to others, As you read she starts to blossom into a fun young woman who has a lot to live for, Sloane well his one sexy guy who has a heart of gold, Together they are such a fun couple they do have their ups and downs but they do start to fall in love and they are so cute together,
This is one of those books that will tug at your heart strings, The author takes us on a emotional roller coaster ride, The characters are so well written and complex and you will fall in love with them as soon as you start to read, The author has a writing style that will have you hooked by the second page, We also get to see the wounded broken characters heal and find the love that they need, This is a sweet romance story that had me on the edge of my seat one moment then crying the next moment, I am truly loving this series and can't wait to go back to Harland Creek and catch up with some of the sweetest characters out there, So if you want a sweet story full of love and redemption this is the book series for you.
Very heartwarming and emotional story, The main character Grace is a victim of abuse and trauma, In order to get away from her abuser, she must leave her old life and identify behind and start over in a different city as well as a new identity.
She ends up in a very small but loving town where everyone becomes family, Grace is very broken therefore very untrusting of everyone especially men, However, when she meets Sloan the town cop whos different in so many ways from the man who abused and broke her, she slowly begins to trust again, Sloan will be the one to show her what real unconditional love and trust are all about, A small town romance youll want to read over and over! I totally enjoyed this book, apologies I forgot to leave a review sooner,
I loved the two MCs and how they just danced around each other the whole time,
Sure they come from two different circumstances, but hey it doesn't mean opposites cannot attract,
And once again Fate was like, . . yes I am gonna prove them wrong tonight haha,
I definitely enjoyed the chemistry the sweet romance and occasional steamy looks they gave each other,
And the overall setting as well I got so much calm from being there on my own, Felt like singing and dancing like I was Mary Poppins myself or sound of music vibes ya know,
Despite this being my first book by Jodi, I know I will definitely look forward to another for sure,
I mean the writing was great, steam and romance was phenomenal, and the setting was so calming for my heart, and loved the side characters too I swear I wanted to adopt em or let them do me.
So great it all was,
Until the next wonderful read by Jodi,

Lost Without You is the first novel in the Cloverton contemporary romance series from bestselling author Jodi Vaughn and is set in the fictional town of the same name in the state of Tennessee.
This series starter has a woman introduced to readers as Grace Witherspoon on the run from her abusive exfiancé, and leaves her life behind in New York by faking her own death.
As much as Grace wants to live a solitary lifepartly because she doesn't want to call attention to herself and risk someone trying to find out who she is, and partly because she wants
to be selfsufficient and not lean on anyone for helpshe quickly learns that life in a small town has people naturally curious about the newcomer and offering all kinds of assistance.
There's an instant spark between Grace and Cloverton police officer Sloan Jackson, and while both try to deny it for a good while, they give in to what they're feeling.
I liked that the progression of their attraction and the resulting relationship wasn't rushed, allowing it to feel more real and not something that's based solely on lust, They've both got issues with trusting the opposite sex, so the fact that they hesitated time and again made absolute sense, Then there's the story line regarding Grace's exfiancé, which went in a direction I wasn't expecting, and I liked how it wasn't the main focus of the book, though the resolution to the whole thing did feel somewhat anticlimactic when we finally got to it.
But overall, I was pretty content,
It's easy to like Grace and Sloan, both as individuals and as a couple, Grace doesn't play the victim, showing what she actually is: a survivor, This plays in quite nicely with the side story concerning her student and her student's boyfriend and I appreciated how that connected with everything that followed, Of course, Sloan was the nearly ideal guy, but his flaws merely make him more human and easier to relate to, which are all good things, There were also supporting characters that stood out, specifically Allison Jackson, Tabitha Miller, and Mitch Woods, so I look forward to them getting their own stories in the future, While the ending did feel slightly abrupt, Lost Without You was a good fourstarred series starter, .
