Lassoed by Love
By Miralee Ferrell

Lindsey Morgan loves her life—too bad she can no longer afford it. The exclusive boutique she managed recently closed. Ready for a new adventure, she accepts a job at a resort. What could go wrong working at a gift shop and laying by a pool during her off hours? What Lindsey didn’t expect was Steven Graham, her high-school crush showing up—as her new boss. Steven isn’t the shy, red-neck teen she’d known six years ago. He’s somehow morphed into a gorgeous, aloof, more refined man. Too bad he thinks she's still the spoiled cheerleader he thought had snubbed him, but she’d change that assumption if it killed her—and with the new job description she’d been handed, it just might!

Designed with Love
By Kimberly Rose Johnson

To save her fledgling landscape business, Jessie Morgan is determined to win an important design competition--even though her major competitors are ex-fiancé Brendon Jacobs and one-time best friend Scott Meyers. Tensions are high in the quaint town of Silver Spring, Oregon as neighbors and friends take sides. Will Brendon drive Jessie and Scott farther apart, or will they join forces...and find love in the process?

More Than Meets the Eye
By Trish Perry

Jensy St. Martin is not pleased when she recognizes the latest ad man to join the Washington, D. C. agency she has long considered her professional home. Phil Quinn was a cocky, love-’em-and-leave-’em type when they attended the same high school ten years ago, and she senses he hasn’t changed much since then. When the two ad designers are forced to work together on a campaign, Jensy learns more than she wants to know about the man, and his growing attractiveness becomes the least of her worries.

Hungry Hearts
By Debby Mayne

When Cameron Prater returns to Hyacinth, South Carolina, to open a restaurant a few doors down from his childhood sweetheart Melissa Shaw's diner, they are both reminded of the fierce competitiveness that drove them apart. They even try to outdo each other while volunteering for a women's shelter that their church sponsors, and they deny the fact that the sparks that brought them together years ago still zing. Can these two people put aside their rivalry—and their pride—and let their hearts take over?

In Love and War Reviews

Really enjoyed this book a lot! Four different books but all with a common thread. All four were well written and kept my interest.....couldn't help but laugh at some of the situations. I, also, coulld idenify with some of the misunderstandings which let to a lot of problems. I really appreciate how each writer shed light on different aspects of what being a Christian meant to their characters. Perhaps, the best part was the characters and how believable they were and how real the situations were. I highly recommend this book. Enjoy!!

A very sweet collection of stories. Feisty, spunky female characters, with dashing male protagonists, and a great dose of forgiveness, healing, and grace.

I found this to be a fun collection of short, easy reading , and insightful stories.
Whether it is a battle between stable workers, landscape designers, restaurant owners, or graphic designers, one thing is sure—love can overcome even in difficult situations when our heart’s focus is on God’s will for our lives.
LASSOED BY LOVE is written with a thread that focuses on the importance of our prayer life and not jumping to conclusions without knowing the full story. You will find this to be a sweet story focused around horses.
DESIGNED WITH LOVE is a fabulous story of how two people can be praying for the same thing without knowing it, and end up in each other’s arms as God directs them to His will for their lives. If you enjoy the outdoors, gardening, and beautiful landscapes, I’m sure this story will appeal to you.
HUNGRY HEARTS centers around winning the heart of someone not only by the way you treat them, but how you treat the people they care about as well. If you love old-fashioned, down-home cooking, this is a story you will enjoy.
MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE will keep you focused on truth—not rumor, not hearsay, but basic truth and the importance of seeking out the truth even when it is a difficult situation. Techy, computer savvy graphic designers bring a modern day touch to this story.

A box set with very good stories, the title definitely fits.

Love the story of Steve and Lindsay. They meet again years later and find out they both have changed a lot but the changes are definitely for the good. A great short story to start this box set.

Nothing like a good competition. Jessie, Brendon, and Scott enter a landscaping competition. Jessie was once engaged to Brendon but has always been friends with Scott. Forgiveness, and learning to love again.

Another good one in the box set, she owns a restaurant and he decides to open one in the same town. But they are not sure about competing against each other. It also has another story within this story.

A basic premise underlies each of the stories – all is fair in love and war. The settings, circumstances, etc. are all different but somewhere along the way someone has been hurt, whether intentional or not. Either the hero or heroine has been stood up or ignored and wants nothing to do with the other person. When suddenly brought face to face with that person, the discomfort on the part of one or both is quite evident. Even with some similarities, each story was interesting and entertaining. It was fun in each situation to try to imagine what I would do and how I would handle it if I had been in the shoes of the male protagonist. Of course, the difficult part is that I cannot imagine myself as a landscape designer, chef, graphic designer, or ranch foreman, so that made it trickier for me. I recommend you read the book for the pleasure of it. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

    In Love and War

In Love and War is a fun collection of novellas with lovable characters, humorous moments that had me laughing and inspiring faith elements making for sweet, heartwarming romances. Throw in some competitiveness, pride, the tendency to jump to conclusions, rumors and past hurts to overcome between these couples for some sparks along the way to love.

This anthology of novellas have the general theme of people meeting in high school, then reconnecting years later with disastrous results.
I loved the characters and the story lines, although I did find the female , main characters were more judgmental.
Thanks for the collection of books and I look forward to more books by the authors.
