  Ok, so Volume 6 is kind of part-two of Volume 5. While that’s not technically how this book was marketed, it’s truer in a narrative sense. Volume 6 starts with the characters right where they were when Volume 5 ended, in addition to some neat little behind-the-scenes moments for us readers. This is basically the culmination point in this series. Every conflict that the characters have had to endure up until now is part of a greater plan. There has been a puppet master behind it all and the time for their endgame is now.
  
  Now there is a lot more to this book than just the plot coming together. Before that starts to happen in earnest, we’re clearly shown how personal the situation has become for the characters. Their home has been attacked. Their friends have been killed. Someone is out there trying to use everything they’ve put their sweat and blood into building as a disposable tool. Rimuru and his friends are new players on the world stage and the old hands view them as pawns to be moved about and sacrificed. Understandably, they do not take kindly to this and have no intention of going down without a fight.
  
  As is the case in many light novels (this series in particular), the first half of this book is the set-up. First, the book deals with the fallout from Volume 5’s events. Some of these are personal issues but others are political now that the characters are running a country. It’s a stretch to say this part is uninteresting, but it feels more like prep work than what comes next: the action.
  
  The 2nd half of the book is where it shines. Again, everything in the series so far has led to this point. This is the end of the first major story arc. Which for any action-anime type series means a really big battle. More than one, in fact. And while I did complain in my review of Volume 5 about the power creep in this series, it thankfully gets toned down a bit here. Rimuru and co. aren’t depowered or anything like that, but we’re given a pretty clear demonstration that there’s always a bigger fish.
  
  It was an extremely satisfying conclusion for the first arc. While How I Was Reincarnated As A Slime feels like it’s directed at a younger audience than most of the other light novels I’ve picked up, I continue to enjoy it just for the sheer quality of the story, characters, and writing. Hats off to the quality of the English translation too. And with the conflicts essentially resolved at this point, I’m excited to see how life shapes up for Rimuru and his friends going forward.

  Great entry into the series. I consider the previous volume to be a highlight in the series, but really this could be lumped into the same category as it explores the results of the actions which occurred in Vol. 5. The reader can derive quite a bit of satisfaction seeing Rimuru and the nation of Tempest flex their collectively enhanced muscles in the latest series of big show downs.
  
  Once again, the author uses the publication to expand on material from the webnovel, leading him to never be concise, and events often go on for just a tad too long. It's a minor quibble at best, as if you love the series this could be a strength for you.
  
  I also just have to say, the translation work here is just a delight. I briefly investigated light novels for the first time back in 2006-2007, and between a lack of availability and quality, I was not impressed and didn't bother giving the industry another try for almost 10 years. This is translated so well though, I'd never know it wasn't originally English just by reading it. It's great that we've come so far and have such talented translators working on projects like this. Top marks, really. Thanks!

  The only reason this is at 4.5 starts instead of a full 5 for me is because there were some minor snags in the pacing in this volume that weren’t in previous ones. It’s not a lot to complain about sudden pace changes, or it slowing down.. but it is enough to notice even admits being engulfed in the plot.
  
  Other then that, though, this was another great continuation. Despite the plot strings weaved in for volume 7, it still feels complete enough to stop here - not that I intend to do so. Just noting the vibes. I’ll eagerly get my hands on volume 7 to read.

  Extremely interesting. Action-packed. Very captivating. Once you started with this book, you will find yourself unable to put it down. It is THAT captivating!
  
  It is very fun to read from the perspectives given here. This book also connected a lot of dots. I'm very interested and I'm highly anticipating how Rimuru goes forward from here. I only have high hopes!

  This is the first of the Slime novels I have picked up. I decided to just start where the current season of the anime is ending and go from there. Super fun to see the written version of Slime. If I thought Rimuru was funny on screen he's even funnier off-screen. The show can't possibly put his every thought on-screen but man does he have some funny one-liners. I also enjoyed the amount of detail we get in the novel compared to the show. Some details that we get to know right away while the anime keeps us in suspense. If you're wary to read a light novel for fear of bad editing, let me just tell you the things that were notably different from American publishing standards to you can brace yourself because honestly, they aren't that bad and this book is pretty well written. 1. They write out laughter. I got over this pretty quickly because they laugh outrageously like this in the show so I just imagined how they sounded in the show and moved along. 2. They did some interesting choices with the romanization of names so if you watch the show in Japanese it may be a culture shock of sorts to see Falmuth be romanized as Farmus or Fyuzu was written as Fuse (I KEPT trying to say fu-se because that is how that would be pronounced in Japanaese and I get it that the Japanese was trying to say fuse (fyu-z) but that was killing me.) 3. There will be random paragraph breaks to indicate silence or there will be "....." to indicate silence. 4. There isn't a lot of markers to indicate who is speaking until quite after the fact, or just not at all. So you'll have several lines of dialogue but no indicator of who is saying what. That was pretty much all of my main editing things. And of course, knowing the amount of Japanese that I do all of these things actually would make a lot more sense and sound a lot better in Japanese so I know they were just directly translated and that's fine. It's more of a shock pre-warning. My only other complaint is just the manga/light novel/anime industry's constant harassment of the female gender (to quote a recent TikTok trend). I just get so freaking incredibly tired of all these perverse men ruining perfectly good and fun fantasy stories with their obsession with women's breasts. Or just like, how important that this was a "woman" doing something. Like her gender is super relevant to the scheme she's running for some reason. It was annoying. It's not super prevalent in this novel, but it is definitely there. However, it was still way better than most anime/manga/light novels out there so, credit where credit is due for not being as perverse as it could have been I suppose. Other than that nonsense, the story is so much fun and I really love all of the characters so much. The story is so cool and interesting and this one had a lot of court-intrigue of sorts with all of the political discussions between countries and demon lords. Overall a fun time and I can't wait to read more.

  Where the previous volume consolidated Rimuru as an absolute force to be reckoned, this one allows him to fully flex his recently acquired Awakened Demon Lord muscles. And flex them he does, by absolutely curbstomping Clayman's army, subjugating his enemies' castle and troops, massacring him in Walpurgis battle and getting full recognition as an official Demon Lord from his colleagues at the newly-christened Octogram.
  
  It's algo a good jumping-off point for this series. There's quite a few loose threads going around (What's the deal with Valentine and the Holy Church? Who's Clayman's secret benefactor? How is it that the Moderate Jesters claim to be only human but are so freakishly powerful?) but the first "arc" has been quite resolved: Rimuru has secured his spot as the Leader of the Tempest-Jura Federation, he's crafted alliances with three powerful human nations, the whole of Tempest seems more than enough skilled to handle anything that goes their way, he's got incredibly powerful allies everywhere (counting ancient dragons, primal demons and awakened demon lords among their ranks), has a plethora of magic, abilities and ultimate skills to use and abuse, & still manages to maintains a level head and not let all that power go to his head and believe himself to be unbeatable (though, to be honest, he practically is at this point already...)
  
  With over a dozen volumes still in the works (some with translation on the works, some still unreleased in Japan) it's likely that the author will need to throw increasingly crazy enemies and situations against Rimuru just to keep things interesting, but before we get to that point I'd like to chill out for a bit from this absolute power trip of a saga before it gets too tiresome for me.
  
  All in all, a very enjoyable journey, and one I'll likely resume in the future!

  My thoughts on the Sixth volume of the light novel of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken) by Fuze and Mitz Vah.
  
  This is the longest volume I've read so far (idk the page count but it sure felt neverending)
  
  The story: The first half of the book is the political follow-ups and consequences of all the things that happened in the last volume. the second half is just beautiful, the invasion of a country, crashing a reunion of the 10 most powerful people in the world and a lot more
  
  Enjoyment:
  The first half was very interesting but got boring after a while but starting the second half it was just action upon action upon epicness upon awesomeness. The second half was the most enjoyable part of the series so far
  
  Final verdict:
  Since volume 5 the series has gotten a lot more interesting plotwise, the laidback atmosphere of the series is almost completely gone and that is not a bad thing, this volume especially was entertaining af and very action-heavy 9.5/10

  4/5 In Volume 6 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime we finally got to put the spotlight on the Demon Lords. All 10 are finally introduced. While we don't get to dig too deep into all of them just yet we do at least get the introduction and a general aspect of their characters. This Volume also closes out the events that have been building involving the Demon Lord Clayman. Of course this just opens up different plot lines that extend further down the rabbit hole and Leon is put on the back burner once again as is Hinata...
  
  The last 2 chapters (or 100 or so pages) of this Volume is where it really starts to shine. The first half is a little long winded and the series is really starting to push out too many characters to keep track of. That would be my only gripe thus far.
  
  As a hole the novels are far superior to the anime and manga and currently about 2-3 novels ahead of the current anime.

  Thing is, it seems I am a lot more discerning when it comes to written text. Despite loving the manga, the light novel is a disappointment. Maybe it's the translation, but there is something missing. Losing the artwork that adds to the charm of this story - it all reads so blandly and amateurish.
  
  The rating itself is not for the story but how it is presented. It's oddly worded. Filled with editing errors. Suffers greatly from "show do not tell". And the incessant need to state one says their lines coldly to emphasize how unfeeling and evil they are. The manga and the anime are the superiors mediums to experience this story.
  
  I will be continuing this series as a manga. I wished to read ahead but sadly, the light novel isn't up to my expectations.

  this volume was pretty good (had a nice new part in it) even though it’s a lot different from the web novel as fuse says in the afterword. it makes more sense and gets rid of some plot holes but i still like just the, i don’t know, the feel? of the web novel. still, it was a fun experience even if rimuru didn’t get to show off quite as much.

  So many powers and schemes that want to defeat Rimuru. This volume has been okay for the most part but its got its moments. I was pretty excited to see Diablo and the other demon lords in action and I guess it did pay off. There is a lot of goofing off which I didn't like but that is to be expected. I liked the volume but I'll just stick to the anime after vol7.

  Having dealt with the army at Tempest's door, Rimuru now has to deal with the demon lord behind it. A good volume of the series, although there were a few odd contradictions in the story such an unit of 100 ogres appearing out of nowhere. I liked the plot, including seeing Rimuru's people into action, but Rimuru does kind of breezes through events. Still, an enjoyable read. Up to the next volume.

  It feels as if the world is filled with underpowered individuals, though it be interesting at least, the majority of the book was spent on endless amount of explaining the skills of the underlings like the previous book, underlines that would likely not see much action in the future.

  This book was another great addition to an already great series. This time Rimuru is going after clayman to pay his debt for the attacks in the last volume. Instead of battle prowess we get to see Rimuru match clayman scheme for scheme.
