Deke has yet to meet a man who gives him a rush. Coast Guard rescue has kept the dragon shifter busy, but there's no harder work than finding a mate. Then comes Bryan. Bearded and inked, the personal trainer turned mechanic smells of grease, sweat and red meat. How irresistibly human can you get? And when it comes to hot, slamming sex, they're the perfect fit. Now all Deke has to do is to tell Bryan what he really is, and what he has planned for them.
Bryan has never met anyone like Deke, a consuming lover with a body so arousing it damn near hurts. And he knows how to use every inch of it. Yet he can't shake the feeling that Deke is hiding something. Just not this—the stud he's falling for is a centuries-old dragon who has marked him as a mate.
Bryan has to admit that something inside him is changing. For the first time ever, he's satisfied, body and soul. If Deke really is telling the truth, this could be his destiny—if he's ready to face it.

2 Didn't work for me stars
*Spoilers*
Seduced by the tide is the first book I have read by Sean Michael and it really didn't work for me. I was in the mood for some fated mate, M/M shifter love, but there was no meat to this story. It was all sex. Now don't get me wrong I enjoy smut as much as the next woman but the key to good smut is length. We readers all know smut is low on plot and character development, but hot on smexy time, so 100 pages or less works best for me otherwise it gets repetitive and I get bored. That is what happened in this book. It was too long to be smut but it didn't have enough plot, character, and relationship development. It was just sex, sex, bj, handy, bj, sex, steak, cupcake, sex, bj, kinky sex, bacon, handy, sex, and more sex. That is the whole book right there! Had this book been only 50 or so pages I would have rated it higher, but I got bored with this book. The sex got tedious and I found myself skimming the sex which was 90% percent of the book. The other thing that didn't work for me was the things Deke would call Bryan. Baby boy, Pretty baby, Sexy baby boy, Sweet baby and 100 other forms of baby this or that. Normally the pet name baby doesn't bother me but the baby boy just bugged me. And if it wasn't baby it was honey. There were so many sugary pet names that it got kinda cheesy. This book just didn't work for me. Sometimes authors and readers just don't rub together well and that is the case with this book. The writing style was fine and all I just didn't click with this book.

Utterly ridiculous.
This book is legit bananas. Bananas!
I'll admit that I enjoyed the first book in the series (
Branded by Flames), but this one was just too over-the-top for me.
I should say that this book is for
Sean Michael superfans only. It is just SO Sean Michael.
We get the typical checklist:
Guy who thinks he is a top but he is really an uber-bottom
BDSM and kinkiness with a guy who keeps insisting he is strictly vanilla
Insta-love
"Baby" and other cloying nicknames
I mean, I could go on and on but Sean Michael has a style and really sticks to it. That works for some people, even me sometimes.
But this book...
The plot is non-existent. Nothing happens! The two MCs have non-stop sex. NON-STOP. There is some angst-ing back and forth about their relationship, but nothing too serious, and there is some bro-talk thrown in, but mostly it's just kinky-ish sex.
My biggest pet peeve about this book (and it's a weird one!!) is that they constantly talk about and/or eat steak. Random, right? But ALL the main couple do is have sex and eat steak on repeat. I actually did a search on my Kindle and "steak" is mentioned 75 (!!!) times! Holy F, I mean... STEAK. I just started laughing after the 40th or so time it was mentioned. It was crazy, totally crazy.
The book was oddly endearing and I found parts of it to be super hot, but I just couldn't give this book more stars. I think I'm stopping this series while I'm ahead.

The second story is about Deke Beteferoce the Coast Guard /Dragon and Bryan the mechanic. Bryan is the neighbor and an ex-fling of Shae, Jake’ mate from the first book of the series.
The book follows the same pattern as book 1. So, there is lots of food, sex and snugness. And a dragon flight for Bryan. -
Deke is the youngest of the dragon-shifter Beteferoce family and isn't quite convinced his eldest brother, Jake, is telling the truth about finding his "mate," Shae, but he's willing to check out this arrangement and see for himself. Plus, Deke noticed that Shae's neighbor and good friend, Bryan, is a fit specimen he'd like to get to know better. With Jake and Shae being obnoxiously in love, and thoroughly uncivilized in their sexy behavior, Deke is more-than-happy for Bryan's offer of a spare bedroom in his home.
And let the sexytimes begin...
Bryan doesn't usually fall into bed with a guy. He hasn't actually had a partner in years; not since he and Shae didn't work out. But, Deke is turning all his knobs in just the right way, much to Bryan's dismay. How can he be so consumed by a man so quickly? And, won't he be heart-broken when Deke returns to his Coast Guard duties hours away?
During Deke's week-long visit he learns for certain that he and Bryan are true mates, just like Jake and Shae, but he's due to report for duty so he vows not to begin the bonding process until he can work out an extended leave. This, by the way, is triggered by fluid-exchange so Deke is careful to stay covered up. Well, except for, oh man! Deke!!
Deke's so sure of his love, he tries to tell Bryan who he really is, and it all goes sideways. He had no idea how Bryan's previous history with the paranormal would skew this experience, but Deke holds faith that he'll be able to win Bryan's heart back, just as soon as he can get more time. The problem? The physical binding has already begun...
Bryan can't understand what's happening to him once Deke leaves. He's lethargic and ill, and fevered, and unable to manage even the most basic tasks like doing the mechanic work he loves or feeding himself. Good thing Shae and Jake are looking in on him. While Deke manages his details for the Coast Guard, he craves Bryan, and fears what will happen if he shows up on Bryan's doorstep. And, it's even worse when he arrives.
I liked this book better than the first, for a few reasons. There's a lot more tension, the sexytimes don't take over as much, and Bryan and Deke really have to build trust. I liked how Bryan was a man who'd had a dark past, and his growing love and trust for Bryan helped him to overcome old hurts. I think I was expecting to meet Bryan's long-lost brother at some point, and I will admit a touch of dismay when that didn't happen, but that's only because I'm a greedy reader--it had no impact on this story. For me, I'm hooked on the Beteferoce brothers finding eternal love, and I hope we get some insight on the Fae tattoo artist who seems to be linking them. I enjoyed a reveiw copy via NetGalley. -
4/5 Stars for the second book in the Dragon Soul series. This one was hands down better than the first but I did love that Jake and Shae still had pretty significant parts in this book.
So this book starts off with Deke, who is Jake's brother and also a dragon shifter. Always being drawn to the water, Coast Guard Rescue was a natural job for him. He loved being in and around the water and was submerged in a pool any chance he got. Coming to visit Jake and Shae while he was on vacation was a natural decision for him. His brother was recently bonded and he wanted to check in on them and also the cute af neighbor guy he saw last time he was there. And maybe this would be his chance to get over there and talk to him?
Bryan was the mechanic who lived next door to Shae and rolled his eyes and got a little grumpy over the fact that he never gets to see Shae now that Jake lives there with him. When Shae invited him over for a BBQ, he hurried his butt over there and was met face to face with the sexy house-sitter that he'd seen walking up Shae's driveway a few times. While Shae and Jake get busy in the kitchen, Bryan and Deke hit it off and end up back at his place.
I liked this book a lot better than the first primarily because of Deke. He wasn't nearly as brash or demanding as Jake was and he was very patient with Bryan, who hadn't bottomed in a long time and was very afraid to do so again. Bryan also wasn't aware of his own kinkier desires and adamantly insisted that he wasn't that kind of guy. Deke knew better, but he didn't just tell Bryan like it was. He was patient with him and worked him up to things little by little.
This book was like 90% sex. They met, flirted around a little, traded backstories, and then got down and dirty for pretty much the rest of the book. That's just how these books go, and how Sean Michael books tend to go, in general. But I'm shameless, and I read them anyway. For a book that's mostly erotica, they somehow pack in complex stories and deep friendships like you wouldn't expect.
I liked this book much more than the first one and I'm really excited to get my hands on the rest of the books. I particularly want to read about the brother who lost his mate. As heart wrenching as I know it's going to be, these books always have a sweet (with a side of kinky) HEA. I would recommend this series, but you definitely have to start with book one. You could probably kind of follow this book, but there is a lot of background information in the first book that Jake shares with Shae that's kind of important.

Seduced By the Tide is book two in the Dragon Soul Series and this story is about dragon shifter, Deke, the youngest Beteferoce brother. Deke noticed Bryan, next door neighbor to Jake and Shae-Book one Branded By Flames, when he came to visit his brother Jake after telling him about finding his mate. Deke returns on leave from the Coast Guard and gets to finally meet Bryan.
Bryan is highly smitten with Deke, and Deke makes his interest known. Both decide a week of fun while Deke is on leave is just what the doctor ordered! It becomes something totally different than expected, and neither wants to say goodbye. Deke is certain Bryan is his soul mate, but knowing he has to report, he's determined not to initiate the bonding. He at least has to resign from the Coast Guard and starting something he can't finish, would just be cruel. But Deke inadvertently started the process, making both of them sick to be away from one another.
Once Deke is home and attending to Bryan, he has to quickly break down his defenses of denying what he likes due to his strict foster family upbringing. I really enjoyed watching Bryan accept who he was and what he liked. That opened up his mind to accept that Deke was a dragon shifter. Having been in a mental hospital after his brother disappeared, he wars with himself as to what is real. Once he accepted one thing, the others fell like dominos!
I really liked this book and Deke and Bryan's dynamic! I liked it much better than book one and I'm not sure why. There is a lot of sex-due to the bonding process so that is no different. There are some BDSM elements, but nothing hard core like in book one. Whatever it was, this book had it! There is heart and depth that tugged at your soul. You just want them both to be happy.
I hope we do get to witness Bryan finding his brother somewhere down the road! I also enjoyed seeing Jake and Shae so utterly happy with one another too! The best part is when the shifters are in dragon mode! I felt like I was zipping through the air or water, and I loved it! Bring on the next Beteferoce brother book!!

This book was gifted to me for an honest review. The review and ratings are solely my opinions. -
If you liked the first, you’ll probably like this one
Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.
Rating: 5/10
PROS:
- There are some fun little additional details here and there to the dragon lore Michael began establishing in the first Dragon Soul story. The author also includes some funny old-timey references that remind the reader now and then that the dragon characters are centuries old.
- Brian is a bit more innocent than most of this author’s characters (or at least more clueless about passes being made at him). Typically in Sean Michael books it’s two self-assured guys who recognize their mutual attraction and then get each other’s clothes off as soon as possible. I appreciated that there was at least a little seduction here.
- I liked seeing the scenes where the brothers and their partners are all together as a family. I imagine this will only become more fun as the series progresses and the number of partnered-up couples increases.
CONS:
- Michael’s Doms are often confident to the point of being a bit too pushy, and I get that BDSM is about pushing limits. But when a sub says “no” on the first date and the Dom insists on pushing past that, when he insists that his sub doesn’t know what he wants, particularly when the sub is brand new to the lifestyle… that bothers me.
- There are mentions here and there of an intriguing larger world of mythical creatures. Their tattoo artist is Fae; there’s mention of a merman. But there is zero development of that world. Seems like a huge missed opportunity to me.
- This author is repetitive; that’s a well-known fact to anyone who’s read much of his stuff. The repetition I was struck by in this story (because it seemed new to me and not just the usual same-old phrases to describe ripped bodies and sex and food) was a sort of echoing that happens sometimes when the guys are talking. One will say a particular word or phrase and the other will repeat it almost immediately, which has the effect of making them sound like the same character rather than two distinct people. Example: “‘[I]t seems a little kinky, huh?’ ‘Kinky is good, though, huh?’”
Overall comments: The allaboutsex-ness here (in both stories so far in this series) is extreme. The scenes last for pages and pages and pages, and there are times when one time isn’t enough; they simply must have sex again immediately with literally no downtime. That doesn’t bother me, per se, but I wish the particular story elements I wanted to hear more about were more fleshed out in addition to the dozens of sex scenes. Almost all they do is eat and have sex, and there isn’t a lot of variety even within the descriptions of those activities. -
I received a copy to read and review for Wicked Reads
I will admit I am a HUGE Sean Michael fan, not sure there isn't a book that I haven't liked. However, I freaking LOVE this series and I am not really into the whole paranormal/shifter thing. I loved the first book and couldn't wait until the next one was out and now that I am done with the 2nd one I need the 3rd one ASAP!!!! We met Bryan in the first book, he is Shae's best friend and neighbor. When Shae's boyfriend Jake's brother Deke comes for a visit it is instant attraction. The chemistry is off the chart and you can feel the sizzle on the pages. Deke's elemental power is water and of course he works for the Coast Guard. Bryan doesn't have a lot of experience with men, especially good experience but Deke takes care of that right away. There is so much sex and feelings that I devoured the book in one sitting. There is a little angst but not much and it is due to the bond that Deke didn't know he started. I was hoping that we would find out something more about Bryan's missing brother from his childhood. I hope eventually that will be addressed in some way in future books, I would love for him to be alive and well with his merman. Oh and I also hope that we get a book about the tattoo artist who is putting all these tattoos on the Beteferoce brothers mates. Great series, hits all my buttons! -
Seduced by the Tide (Dragon Soul #2) by Sean Michael
4 stars
M/M Shifter Romance with hints of BDSM
Triggers: Loss of family, institutionalization
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Bryan was seen in the previous book. He is Shae's good friend and neighbor. They have a great relationship, but we know that Shae belongs with Jake. What we don't know is whether or not Deke will find a mate in Bryan.
When Deke sees Bryan there is instant chemistry. Both are attracted to each other and when they get together, there is definite chemistry. Sparks fly and hearts grow. Deke is a coast guard because his element is water. Of course, I wish that we would have seen more of him in his job, but Bryan calls.
Bryan is a mechanic who had a tough upbringing. He had to hide himself until he was able to get out. He also had to overcome being institutionalized along with the loss of his brother. Shae is probably his closest friend, but even with Shae's input, Bryan has a very difficult time understanding and believing what Deke is.
When the bond begins, both Deke and Bryan have to figure out a way to complete it. Deke has to convince Bryan and Bryan just has to accept it. I did feel that Bryan's issues were kind of annoying, but understood them.
I do hope that we get to see whether or not his family is out there and I can't wait to see the other brothers. These books are magical in their ability to bring you with while they fly and connect. -
3.5 stars
This was a good story but there was so much sex (not that it's a bad thing ;) ) but it kinda distract from the meat of the story. I liked how the issue with Bryan and his upbringing colored his views on sexuality were told but I thought there could have been so much more done with the issue. -
I am liking this series better and better.
-
After finishing the first book, I went to find the others. I liked that each dragon had their own element which was interesting as the premise was the same in each story

Seduced by the Tide is the second book in the Dragon Soul series, and this time we focus on Deke, the youngest of Beteferoce brothers. He saw Bryan when Jake and Shae were bonding, but not really to speak to. Still, he liked what he saw then. This time, Jack and Shae are happily together, their bond in full force. Deke is on a week's holiday and gets more than he bargained for when he and Bryan turn up for a grill. The attraction is there, and Deke moves it quickly onwards, listening to what Bryan's body says instead of what he says, especially as he doesn't use the safe word that is in place. A lot of things come clear as this story moves on, and it was heartbreaking to learn of Bryan's past. Deke was there to help him through it though, and in fact, this helps to support and strengthen their bond.
Now, book 1, I enjoyed, I really did. There was still 'something' that was missing for me though, and I've no idea what. Whatever it was, it's definitely been found in this book. This story has been incredibly well written, with no editing or grammatical errors that I noticed to disrupt my reading flow. There is a depth to this book that drew me in and I didn't want to leave until the story was over. A wonderful story that is full of heat and heart. Definitely recommended by me.

Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! -
Seduced by the Tide is the second book in the Dragon Soul series by author Sean Michael. I really loved the pacing on this book. Felt action packed, and the romance was well done.
I have not read this story before and was not lost reading this story. I want more from this series!! I super felt connected to all the characters and want more dragons.
Deke is the youngest Beteferoce dragon shifter. He is a fire dragon. All of them have strong elemental powers. He is destined to find a mate he has just given up on really finding him. His brother has one and he is not even sure that is real. He doubts himself and his dragon.
Bryan has never met anyone like Deke. The chemistry they have is off the charts. The friendship they have is everything Bryan has ever wanted. But can he handle Deke’s secret.
Over all a really well-done book, and I really want more of the characters in the future. This is a must read for anyone who loves a great paranormal love story.

I can't say which book touched me more, this or book one
Branded by Flames, but I felt more at home with coast guard dragon Deke and as the author described him: Bearded and inked, the personal trainer turned mechanic, Bryan.
Maybe it was the way Bryan resisted throughout the book, failing to believe what was right in front of him. Or the way Deke lit up from inside with his want and need for Bryan. The heat was real, the chemistry undeniable. Even though the story touched on issues I wished were answered in this book, I see it as an arc to revisit in future books (fingers crossed).
This was a long read, full of angst, a touch of BDSM (this IS a Sean Michael book!) and a fantasy that not much have touched.
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from
Netgalley -
I liked this book better than the first one. We actually get some background on Bryan, and it broke my heart especially when he thought he was still back . I am hoping that we will run across his brother at some point, that would be awesome. I still would like more background of the dragons and to see their "home". Again this was a story of, mate, mine, tons of sex and eat massive amounts of steak. It's a good thing the brothers are loaded to keep up with their groceries. I can't wait to meet the other brothers and their mates. The one I'm really looking forward to is the brother who lost his mate. Also I want to know more about the Fae who is tattooing the mates. He said he has already tattooed two of them, why not the third? Okay I'm getting ahead of myself. Anyway I can't wait for the next one which is Luke's story.

This is book # 2, in the Dragon Soul series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.
Bryan has never met anyone like Deke. He has never had anyone take to wanting him so bad. He has also never felt this way about anyone else.
Deke is shocked to find out his brother's hot neighbor is interested in him. They work to find common ground. There are still secrets and surprises in store.
This book caught me off guard. I was excited by the subject, and found myself all to often not very happy with how it brought out. I think the lead character was kind of overbearing, as maybe he should be. It just turned me off and made it hard to finish the book. It felt forced.
***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review by Netgalley and its publisher. -
This was a difficult read to get through. About half way I had to put it down to read something else (5 other books) because I couldn't take these MCs calling each other 'man', 'boy' or 'baby' another second or repeated or single words during sex. 'Love, love, love' or 'need'. I also could not take the fact that these men live off sleep, sex, and steak. Like, really!?! You could take out all the unnecessary 'mans' 'boys' and 'baby boys' so you can add some character to these MCs, please!!
I'm not sure I'll continue with this series if they continue to be repetitive in dialog because even the sex is not interesting enough to keep me reading. These books are too long and have nothing worth staying to read 200+ pages. -
I have read this series a while ago, and never listed it on goodreads, so here goes. I cannot remember much about this book, just it is the second book in a series about five dragon shifter brothers who found their mate. The first book in the series was ok, but this one is just too over the top for me. The characters is so bland I cannot even remember their names, the plot is non-existing, and the whole book is just about kinky sex and eating. And it is not as fun as it seems!
-
Book 2, Dragon Soul
The blurb says it all really. Two very hot men, lots of very hot sex and a HEA. What more could you want??
It's a fun read with very little angst and we catch up with the characters from the previous book who are still very much enjoying their HEA. I liked it!
*Received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review -
3.5 stars Much better than the first book. Good character development for both Bryan and Deacon. Bryan had a lot of issues to work through and Deacon was so compassionate and patient. Their relationship was very sweet and strong. The sex was kinky and fun. Shae wasn't such a loser in this installment.
-
I love it again. Seduced by the tide is nice. Good dialogues and everything but lack of adventure. Only exploring their love feels kind of... dunno vanilla, I guess. But I’d read it again. Going on a break(reading other series) before attacking bound by thorns.
