Armas raamat, eriti armsate piltidega Three different woodland creatures all live in an old chestnut tree.
Each one has a unique personality and interests, . . and that's just fine! The illustrations and the shyness I can relate to make me want to give this one a high rating, My brain is foggy so I had to reread a bit, so that might be why I was a bit confused, or not, .It was funny that George the Owl dressed up as a seagull and everyone thought he was a seagull because he was so good at making costumes.

I liked that Edmond was shy at first until Owl told him to go to the party and he did and he had a lot of fun.

I think this book teaches a good lesson about trying things that you might be nervous about they might just turn out to be fun.
Mommy A wordy story of a lonely pompom making squirrel, an owl who is a master of disguises and a bear who is a party animal, this French import certainly loses a lot in the translation.
It's random and quirky enough to make a fun readaloud for older children however Really cute and brightly colored story about coming out of your shell to join in the fun with the others around you.
Ihana kirja ujoudesta ja yksinäisyydestä, Kirjassa viehätti erityisesti voimakkaiden värien rohkea käyttö, Edmond is a shy squirrel who lives in a tree where he enjoys making pompoms and nut jam, When his downstairs neighbor throws a party, he meets his upstairs neighbor and attends the party, making a bunch of new friends in the process,

This story is beautiful! I loved the characterization and how attending the party thrown by his neighbor really opens Edmond's world up, The artwork is vibrant and detailed the details brought to mind Richard Scarry's world,

Highly recommend this book for sharing with PreK, maybe even for purchase as this is a book to be reread many times! Edmond, the squirrel, lives in a chestnut tree and hardly ever goes out.
He spends his time making nut jam, reading stories, and making pompoms, George Owl lives in the tree above Edmond, He spends his time out and about, gathering items to create his amazing costumes, Harry, the bear, lives in the bottom part of the same chestnut tree, He loves to throw parties and was just planning his upcoming one, It would have a nothing tart, very mysterious, and would encourage people to wear costumes, Edmond longed to go to a party in the tree, but never had, So when George smells Edmonds latest batch of nut jam as the party gets started, George encourages him to attend even if he doesnt have a costume to wear.
Soon Edmond is at the party, dancing and having a great time and he decides that parties suit him just fine after all,

This French import is a radiant read, The three different residents of the tree all have distinct personalities, Edmond is lonely and looking for connections, George enjoys disguises and Harry is rather distracted in the midst of his party planning, It all turns out for the best as the three neighbors get to know one another,

or at least Harry and Edmond to, since George is dressed in a very realistic seagull costume.
The text here is lush and gives insight into each character, making the book more appropriate for older preschoolers and children already starting school,

Boutavants illustrations have a seventies vibe, Done in the flat bright colors of that time, the illustrations have lots of details to explore and offer real glimpses into the lives of the three denizens of the tree.
The bright colors vibrate on the page, brilliant blues, reds and yellows are used as background colors and add a lot of energy to the story,

An exploration of neighbors and being yourself, this picture book is cheery and vibrant, Appropriate for ages. Well, this story is not going to be a big hit with introverts,

Edmond, a timid squirrel, spends his time making nut jam and pompoms and reading adventure stories, The other two occupants of the tree in which Edmond lives, an owl and a bear, are wilder and crazier guys, George the owl likes to dress up in costumes, often disguising himself as another animal or a bug, Harry the bear likes throwing lavish parties, inviting all the creatures in the forest,

Edmond has never gone to a party, and ends of crying a few tears of loneliness the night Harry's latest party is in full swing.
George drops in, though, and convinces Edmond to come to the party with some of his delicious jam, Edmond has a blast, and when he is finally getting to bed late in the night, realizes that being with friends is what really makes him happy.

Amusingly, George didn't go right to sleep after the party because "he felt too awake" to do so, Gee, don't owls stay up all night anyway Another funny nature type observationso many of the guests at the party were creatures owls and bears eat, This is a children's fiction story translated from French, though, not a nonfiction nature story,

Nevertheless, what about children who are actually happiest doing creative things alone and reading, as opposed to partying and dancing for hours with lots and lots of other kids Doesn't this story suggest that they are in reality lonely and need to "join the party" to be truly happy While a born extrovert would probably feel that way, a born introvert definitely would not.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from Amazon Vine, Timid Edmond the squirrel spends his days alone, making nut jam, reading adventure stories, and making pompoms this life suits him, He's content and quite good at making pompoms, but, when his neighbor Harry the bear throws a party, Edmond suddenly feels his loneliness, It takes a new friend with a curious hobby to convince Edmond to venture outside the comfortable safety of his home and attend the party, After a night filled with new friends and laughter, Edmond realizes that, perhaps, being surrounded by friends is what truly suits him best of all, Edmond, The Moonlit Party is a joyous, vibrantly illustrated story about friendship and connectedness, as well as a clever depiction of the importance of striking a balance between the introvert and extrovert within.
This is such a cuddly little book! I think just about every introverted child and adult can relate to Edmond, Personally, I found the ending a little unsatisfying it feels like Edmond is trading in one lifestyle for another, rather than letting the two coexist together, or this would have gotten four.
"Scaredy Squirrel" meets an acid trip, This is a nice story about the value of friendship and inclusion, Squirrel is shy and needs some encouragement to attend a party hosted by Bear, Squirrel wanted to go, but didn't feel right about just showing up, Owl is going to the party and convinces Squirrel to come along with him, The illustrations are wonderfully drawn and quite detailed, Dobrodružný příběh o odvaze, vytrvalosti, přátelství a podpoře pro nejmenší děti, Ujo Oliver viihtyy omissa oloissaan mutta olisiko muiden mukana silti mukavampaa Ihana kuvitus muistuttaa nostalgista kultaisten kirjojen tyyliä mutta on raikas ja riemukas, Kielessä käännöksen myötä kenties koukeroisuutta joka vähän tökkii, It's hard for me to say how much I love this book, We've checked it out from the library so many times! Edmond is the cutest, tiny, pristinely clean, and introverted squirrell who loves making things from pompoms! The bear is so fashionable, and the owl really should have an Etsy shop for his costumes! What great little forest lives these characters lead! The illustrations are lovely, and the book is engaging.

Good illustrations, but the story is not that good/baby book,
review soon The illustrations are colorful and vibrant, but the story is extremely disappointing, There's a clueless bear who doesn't tell anyone what kind of party he's having, but animals show up anyway, The "nothing tart" is never described, so we still don't know what it is, There's a weirdo owl who makes costumes during the day instead of sleeping, and masquerades as other species while talking about himself as the "mysterious Owl" to party guests.
And poor Edmond, who admits his tears are in the nut jam he serves to others why are they not grossed out by that, In the end, children aren't told that it's okay to want to keep to themselves, Attending strange parties you weren't invited to is normalized, and you're taught that feeling lonely is bad and to be avoided, Also, there are no transitions between pages so each turn of the page is a bit jarring, especially since the background colors change each time, Edmund on orav, kes elab suure kastanipuu sees oma majas, Ta on väga häbelik ja tagasihoidlik ega suhtle oma naabritega, Aga ühel õhtul koputatakse tema uksele,
