Access Today Jesus, His Life And Teachings: As Told To Matthew, Mark, Luke, And John Conceived By Joseph F. Girzone Presented As Publication
think I made it all the way to track numberon the first disc before giving up, This is just way too basic and literal for me,
Having said that, this would be a very good introduction to the story of Jesus that is built out of all the gospel accounts mooshed together without much regard for smoothing or taking the minor inconsistencies out like, Andrew brings Peter to Jesus.
. . but no: a few chapters later, Jesus calls both of them as if he's never met either of them, . . annoying and unremarkedupon.
I also didn't like the reader's voice: mushymouthed and far too actory for me, Probably better to a read the book, or b read The Book, A beautifully written book which accumulates all the Gospels into one whole story, A great summary of the life of Jesus, Written in simple language, this book helps spread the knowledge of Christ to all, I thought this was going to be a book explaining the life and teachings of Jesus, but really, it was more like a condensed version of all the stories about Jesus in the Bible.
Even though I've read or heard them all before, it was still interesting and comforting to hear them again, Joseph Girzone, the author who so powerfully captured the spirit of Jesus in his Joshua novels and in his bestselling A Portrait of Jesus, now brings his work to culmination with a beautiful retelling of the life and work of Jesus based on the accounts in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
Girzone captures the greatest story ever told in language that will open the hearts of readers from all backgrounds, From the birth of the Messiah to the wedding at Cana, the Sermon on the Mount, the Passion, and the triumphant Resurrection, each episode and lesson from the life of Jesus is rendered with wisdom and freshness.
Elegantly designed, this trade paperback original will find an enthusiastic audience with the millions of Girzone readers, chronological narrative of Jesus' life according to the four gospels
It's the Gospels, He wrote nothing. I don't get it. Basically took the four gospels and put them into a chronological narrative, Very enjoyable. Audiobook: just straight up read me the teachings and parables and tales of Jesus time on earth, Ahhhh No commentary. No opinion. No chapter and verse. Just what I needed before trying to sleep many nights of a pandemic, This book helped explain some parts of the New Testament Gospels that I had previously not understood, I listened to it as an audiobook and I would recommend this version of the book, Readers both young and old could enjoy reading this material, It's literally the four gospels blended into a single FALSE narrative, Misleading, snubbing the nuance inherent in the differences of the four separate documents, Not worth your time. Read the four canonical gospels and pay attention to the differences and similarities, This book is not what one might expect an analysis of Jesus' teachings, Rather it is "only" all the gospel accounts of Jesus taken and strung together into one chronological story, It does make for an enjoyable read about all that Jesus did without the disjointed feeling typically encountered when reading the gospels one by one.
