Could not get into this book at all, Did not have a real connection to Brotherhood Protectors world, The story felt disjointed from the very beginning and never got any better, I definitely do NOT recommend this book, Sue Coletta has done it again, Or should I say, Shawnee Daniels has In this crossover novella between Elle Jamess Brotherhood Protectors story world and Colettas Mayhem series, wild and wonderful Shawnee Daniels sees the softer side of lifethe side where family bonds mean everything and even tough former military men can breakdown under the agony of loss.


Coletta crafts unique characters and descriptive, horrific plots and manages to weave them together into mustread treasures, Fractured Lives is no exception, Once again, the heroine is an enticing blend of stalwart law enforcer and edgy Robin Hoodesque vigilante, This time, she puts her powers to good use as she and her devoted boyfriend, Detective Levaughn Samuels, help their neighbor find his missing fiancée, and in the process, they uncover and solve a series of serial abductions and murders.


Of special note is the villain, Coletta outdid herself when she created this character, At once sympathetic, chilling, and downright terrifying, this villain is one you wont soon forget,

The best part of crossover work is that you get not one set of fabulous characters, but two, And this novella did a bangup job of merging both worlds, If you like fastpaced thrillers with strong heroes and truly disturbing villains, this is a story you wont want to miss, This book is a hauntingly gripping read with a disturbing twist that will shock you, You can feel the deep seated emotions flowing through the pages of this intriguing tale, In this story the author combines the characters from both the worlds of Elle Jamess Brotherhood Protectors series and Sues own Mayhem series allowing us an additional look into the lives of couples Shawnee Daniels and Detective Levaughn Samuels along with Brandon Boomer Rayne, his fiancé, Daphne and their baby daughter, Maya.


Both pairs of couples are retreating to a lake in Maine for some rest and relaxation, hoping to let the world fade away, reconnect and enjoy their time together.
However when they arrive at the lake, they find out that the seemingly quiet community is being plagued by couples disappearing and bodies being found in the water, The disappearances hit even closer to home when Boomer awakes early one morning to find Daphne gone, Beyond frantic he confides in and enlists the help of the couple they had met a few days prior staying next door, Shawnee and Levaughn join him in search, retracing steps and putting together clues that will hopefully bring Daphne home safely, Though, when they discovermore bodies of women resembling his fiancé in the lake they know they are running out of time, Can they unravel the mystery in time to find her or will Boomer be forced to raise his baby girl alone I received a copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Shawnee Daniels is such a memorable character that I just love reading about.
Crossing over into the Brotherhood of Protector series for this story was done so well that I was completely engrossed in the story, Anyone who has ever read Sue Coletta's Mayhem series will of course recognize her characters and enjoy them although reading them was not necessary for this story, Again a villain that will surprise and twists that make putting the book down hard to do, This author is on my click list, With a caw caw here and a caw caw there, trouble follow Shawnee Daniels everywhere she goesand this is one wild trip to the lake, The islancd calls to her, but she doesnt answer the call right away, This may be

a novella, but it was chockablock full of creepy mystery with suspenseful moments and unforgettable characters,
