Gabe
I thought I had it all with the best medical practice in the state and the woman of my dreams.
I wore a smile on my face every single day.
I couldn't wait to watch her walk down the aisle and start our forever, except she never did.
My runaway bride made me realize love isn't worth it.
Crystal
I was the strong one, they said, until two words brought me to my knees.
It was a secret I didn't share with anyone.
A secret that made me promise I’d never fall in love.
I no longer wanted that white picket fence of every woman’s dreams.
Until the unthinkable happened.
What happens when your dreams unexpectedly come true?
This is the story of unexpected love.

**** 4.5 Stars!!!!****
Again I want to thank Natasha Madison for the gift of her three books in “the Love Story” series... and also “Wrapped up in Reading “ for putting on the contest!
I have to say that I seriously loved Gabe and Crystal, and even though there were a bunch of scenes in this story that I had already read in the first book, I still was highly entertained with the chemistry from this couple!
Review to come! -
This was just stupid. You know what I liked book 1 better even with the ass of a hero.
The heroine has been told since she was 19 years old that she's sterile by her doctor and she goes once a year for a check up now all of the sudden she's pregnant with the hero's baby and she goes to see a fertility doctor and tells her everything is where it should be and that everything looks ok. That's the whole explanation I got. I mean the woman was infertile and that's what I'm told that everything it's where it should be.? I'm here scratching my head thinking what a lazy writing it's like the author didn't even do research she got lazy and the explanation was just as stupid as the book was.
She's been sterile for 6,7 years never in those years and in the tests that she had done or routine checks the doctor never told her that he was wrong and now it's a miracle she's is preggo (praise the Book lords) she tells the hero she's in birth control but she wasn't. Never tells him she wasn't or maybe I just missed it. Hero is all happy that she's pregnant because he wanted to see her swollen up with his baby, he also wanted kids with his ex fiancé.
There's also ow drama from one of his nurses was very stupid, she was in love with him for a couple of years, she burned out his house, slashed his tires, sent text messages from his phone to her phone, he never slept with her but she was downright crazy thinking that he was in love with her. Oh and his ex fiancé called him a couple of times and shows up once. Also the heroine who's a nurse was better than the doctor/hero because she diagnosed a couple of patients the doctor/hero was kinda looking flabbergasted when examining one of his patients. -
This book had a great potential.
Sassy, strong and smart heroine. Funny banters. Ok hero. Safe.
But then the fully unexplained and therefore implausible (for me) twits and the story lost its appeal.
Infertility is a hard burden. My heart broke for the heroine. Especially when the man she loved dwelled on his wish to have kids, which is totally fine, but well, not everyone has its gift, unfortunately.
And there were so many beautiful ways to solve this issue, so many…
But how can a woman, who didn’t have her period for over 6-7 years get pregnant?!? How is it possible?!?
She had her yearly check-ups and her diagnose didn’t change, but she still got pregnant?
Ok, maybe it happens, but I need an explanation!!! And I got nothing!
Natasha Madison is a talented writer and I enjoyed many of her books, but this one was too rushed and left many unanswered questions.
Sweet epilogue. But again, how??? How was it possible? -
Ok. This cover is hot as hell. The first book in this series was spot on fabulous. The premise of this book sounded great. As I started reading i went no way I just read this. By 39% I was still reading the same stuff from the first book. Come for god sake can't you say you have to read the first book and this one is a continuation of it. I'm pissed I payed for this. I read the last chapters i know what happened. I don't plan on ever reading book 3.

Gabe & Crystal's story was really unexpected in many ways. These two were like water and oil constantly bickering with each other. Crystal has a secret that she holds close to her heart because in her mind that will be a deal breaker with anyone that she has a relationship.
Gabe's been burned and is adamant that h will never give his heart away...though his heart has other plans and before he knows it, he's in deep :-) Crystal really tested my patience at times and I can see why Gabe was constantly frustrated with her. These two had my laughing one minute and the next I was wanting to smack some sense into them.
This was a rollercoaster of a love story for me that left me breathless and wanting more on Gabe & Crystal-yes, I'm greedy like that! I can't wait for Blake's story! Kara~5 Breathtaking Stars -

Talk about a story that gets to you on a personal level, so much of it felt like something I experienced myself or knew of another going through it. Natasha Madison tells a story of love, loss, and acceptance with a story line that is so real it doesn't feel like a fictional book at all. If you're me, you're crying before the book even is 15% through, if you're someone else this might scare you off, but I beg of you, continue reading, it's worthwhile. Unexpected Love Story is the second novel in the Love Story series, though I have not personally read the previous and I won't speak to it in my review. This novel follows Crystal and Gabe, two individuals with relationship issues that can't seem to deny the connection they have with one another. What ensues is a flirty, smoking hot affair and blossoming love that each tries to fight.
“Running. I’m always running. Running after my dreams. Running away from love. Running. Simply running.”
Unexpected Love Story is one of those books that's probably best known as an emotional rollercoaster, in a good way. There are highs and lows, with Crystal and Gabe so attracted to one another but each dealing with their own pasts, and of course the setting of the romance isn't exactly picture perfect either. Or rather, it's perfect for a story, but it's not perfect if you like your romance to be low drama. I personally love the drama. I like the push and pull, I like the broken nature of each character and the growth each makes to become whole on their own and together as a couple. Just as the title says, their love story is unexpected, but it makes for a great book. Crystal is headstrong and independent, just the way I like my book heroines. I really appreciated her character development and the strides she makes in embracing honesty within her personal life. Gabe became a book boyfriend from the very first time I met him, he's just the kind of guy I want as a hero in a story. Okay, he’s sometimes a bit of a jerk and always an Alpha, but he’s romantic and caring. That said, the topics and issues they face are very real and I was really impressed with Natasha's ability to tell a story about something so difficult. It was, for me, a good blend of serious and sweet, with just the right amount of smut.
I cried, I laughed, and I smiled a lot through out my reading of Unexpected Love Story. In fact, I'm sucked in now and I'll be sticking around to catch up on Perfect Love Story and the upcoming release of Broken Love Story. Natasha Madison has a new fan in me and I think Gabe and Crystal were the perfect first introduction. There's some excellent dialogue in Unexpected Love Story and of course, a tale of romance that will have you falling in love too.

I loved this book! An enemies-to-lovers romance with epic chemistry, fantastic banter, and passion that practically explodes off the page. It’s fun, feisty, sexy and beautifully heartfelt, and I loved every moment!
This book is the second in the Love series. A trio of interconnected standalones all tied together by the death of a man and the reveal of heartbreaking secrets. You could technically read this one as a standalone, but I would encourage you to read each of these books in order so that you get to experience them as intended – you won’t be sorry!
Gabe and Crystal were introduced in the first book of the series,
Perfect Love Story, where the beginnings of their tumultuous ‘relationship’ played out in the background of the story, providing endless entertainment and a need for me to get my hands on this book, and it was everything that I was hoping for and more.
Crystal’s best friend and cousin, Hailey’s life has literally just imploded around her. So, being the amazing friend and support that she is, Crystal quits her job and moves with Hailey to a small coastal town so that she can find solace and pick herself up again. Crystal herself has dealt with personal demons that have left her completely closed off to the idea of love, and instead she has dedicated herself to her family and her career. A dedicated ER nurse, she takes a job in the local medical practice where she finds herself working with the delectable Dr Gabe Walker, a man who she knows quite intimately from what she thought was a one-night-only encounter that completely rocked her world.
Gabe (cousin to Jensen from the first book) thought he had everything in life he could possibly want – a successful career working in his family’s medical practice, and the woman of his dreams by his side. But when he was literally left at the altar, it changed him, and he is now broody and determined to build his life on his own, with no intention of ever trusting his heart to another again. And then Crystal walks into his practice as his new nurse, working beside him day after day and completely turning his well-ordered life upside down.
OMG, I love the set up for this story! Gabe and Crystal are both completely loveable from the moment we meet them, and together they are absolutely sizzling! Neither of them expected to see the other again, and being together again tests all of their rules, creating a dynamic that is full of sexual tension and animosity that is so much fun to watch!“She wants to put her bed in the middle of the room. Diagonally.” I tell him, gesturing it with my hands. “Who does that? We would never be able to work together so I fired her.”
“So you fired her?” he asks me, folding his lips and trying not to laugh.
“Yes, but then the little…the little,” I try to come up with a name, “the woman called my father and quit.”
He doesn’t even try to hide his laughter as he belly laughs out loud. “It’s not fucking funny. He took her side.”
He puts his hand in front of his mouth and gasps. “Shocking.”
“Fuck you, Walker,” I say. “I knew she was fucking trouble.”
Gabe and Crystal are wild for each other, obvious in each and every one of their encounters, and their determination to dislike each other battles with their passionate playfulness, and it’s a combination that is funny and sexy with a wonderful sense of anticipation just waiting for them to give in to the inevitable.“What is this thing?” I ask her…
“We have an itch, and we need to scratch it.” She smiles at me. “I mean, we are definitely attracted to each other, and the sex was decent last time.”
I glare over at her. “Decent, my ass. I rocked your world.”
And when they do…. Holy damn! Natasha Madison writes seriously steamy sexy time, and Gabe and Crystal’s connection is electric!
But they both finding themselves feeling way more than either of them wanted, or expected, creating a whirlwind of emotion that forces them to finally confront their issues and figure out what it is they truly want. Their coming together may not have been the smoothest, but it felt entirely natural, and OMG I felt every moment of it!“Can you explain to me why one minute I want to run you over frontward and backward, and then the next, I want to kiss you till I have no more air left?”
I love that this book had me laughing and fanning myself, then laughing some more, only to have me near tears – heartbroken and then overjoyed and swooning madly the next. The relationship has its ups and downs, but it’s functional, written in a way where the drama makes sense to the story and never overshadows the relationship, and the romance is absolutely gorgeous! I got completely swept up in this story and finished it in the early hours of the morning, unable to put it down.
Once again Natasha Madison brings us a fantastic read, and I am beyond excited for the next and final book in the series.
5 stars!

I cannot express how much I loved Unexpected Love Story...this series so far! I am in love with these characters and the entire storyline ❤️❤️❤️
We met Hailey and Jensen in Perfect Love Story, now we get the fun and flirty development of the relationship between Crystal and Gabe. All the characters are intertwined and mentioned, so there’s no reason not to start at the beginning of this series. Yes, they can be read as stand-alone books...yada, yada, yada. But honestly, why would you want to do that when Natasha has given us some of her best work!
Crystal is definitely one of my favorite heroines. She is sassy and strong, yet vulnerable about a secret she’d hiding from her past. I love how she doesn’t back down to Gabe, or anyone for that matter. She’s an independent woman and won’t be deterred by swagger and a sexy smile…until Gabe. Natasha does not hold back; the first time Crystal and Gabe meet will set your panties on fire. WOW! The chemistry and heat between them is a four-alarm fire. It might be worth mentioning that Natasha knows how to write saucy and sexy and that is exactly what you get with Crystal and Gabe!
It is so entertaining to watch the two of them fight the undeniable attraction they have for one another. Gabe swears off women, but once Crystal gets under his skin she’s the one ailment this hot doctor can’t find a cure for. Ahhh, I just loved Gabe. I don’t know what else to say about his character other than he’s a tall drink of water that quenched my thirst. Everything about him checked off the “boxes” in the proverbial book boyfriend checklist. Nothing is sexier than couples who fight each other at every turn, but can’t keep their hands off one another as if their lives depended on it. They’re both stubborn and at the same time sensitive, looking for a piece of themselves they lost.
Book #3 in this series is Broken Love Story. We have so many great characters to choose from, I have a pretty good feeling what we’re in for with this final book and I simply can’t wait! -
meh!
I was too lazy to write a review. -
OMG Gabe and Crystal stole my heart
And wow just wait til you find out who book 3 is about 😜
4.5 stars Unexpected Love Story was such an amazing read! Gabe and Crystal truly belong together but both have endured soul crushing moments to get to the point in life where they meet each other; ok maybe until they work together; because the first time they meet well.. I will let you experience that yourself!
Ms Madison elicits so many emotions from the reader in this book; deep heartache, laugh out loud funny moments, compassion and wonderful banter.
Gabe and Crystal's journey kept me glued to my kindle. The eb and flow, the deep respect for each other careers, the connection you could feel through the pages and hesitation on Crsytal's part to let Gabe in, all of has me so excited to have uninterpreted reading time on a long plane flight; a flight that didnt feel long at all due to having this book on my kindle!
I loved the use of the secondary characters in this book. Gabe's parents were really used to epic fashion in this one. Gabe loving his hometown, Gabe wanting to bring great medical care to his hometown all made me love him even more!
Ok warning... if you are designer shoe lover... there may be a moment when Gabe makes you grasp lol
I adored how it was very clear what these two felt for each other was different! The give and take, Crystal pulling back, the context this is put in when the story reveals is so WOW!
And the way Crystal's past comes full circle had me grinning from ear to ear... yes this one has an outstanding epilogue!
I highly recommend reading book 1 Perfect Love Story first!
Oh and we when you complete Unexpected Love Story you are absolutely going to want to 1-click Broken Love Story!
These three books bridge together when one event touches so many lives; that one event is re-visited in each book to allow the reader an upclose view of how it impacted the main character in the given book.
Natasha Madison have become a must click author for me! -
REVIEW: 4.5 STARS
"With Crystal, I know I won't let her live without me."
SO, after meeting Crystal and Gabe in Perfect Love Story, I couldn't even begin to imagine what the source of all their volatility was. There was so much contention between them that my curiosity was that much more piqued going into this one, and I wanted to know the why of all of it! However, having read this one now, looking back, all I can say now is HA! HA! HA! Madison did such a good job making me smile throughout this entire story. And yet again, I am completely in love with another set of characters, both individually and part of a series. I liked how she incorporated them all in each story, but also gave them their own voices. I really liked this one.
I think it's important to note that this one was written as a standalone, but if you read it, you will know the entire first story, so I would recommend reading them in order if you don't want to ruin the first book. I know I am that type of crazy reader that has to read in order, but if you do read this one, just know you will have the entire backstory of book one because Crystal and Gabe are an integral part of Hailey and Jenson's story. Having said that, I loved the back and forth we had in the very beginning of this book - the proverbial trip down memory lane to catch us up on all things Crystal and Gabe. Obviously we saw book one in Hailey's POV, but being able to relive it from Crystal's POV gave me a little more of an in-depth look at all the emotions swirling around on that fateful day. I loved seeing that aspect. I loved feeling the pain from another perspective. And I loved how Crystal is the kind of friend we all desperately need in our lives. I really liked this story so much!
"I can't breathe without her."
I know sometimes you find a book or a storyline by an author that just takes you by surprise and it's so out of your norm that you have to tell everyone. This series, so far, is gonna be that one for me. I haven't read Natasha Madison until now, but I can honestly say that I am truly enjoying this series and all the characters. Yes, I know the tagline originally sucked me in, but this normally wouldn't be a writing style I would shout about. It's very different than what I would normally read. I don't want to undermine her ability to tell a story, because clearly she can and it's why I keep coming back, but her storytelling is a basic layout of exactly how everything happened - a no frills, fast paced storytelling that I can appreciate. But, it made for a very entertaining read. It was just that good for me. I connected. It resonated. It worked. I really liked this one!!
Once again; SO FREAKING EASY to read! I was genuinely giddy and excited while reading this one. Natasha's voice is fresh, her story reads complete and fun, and I'm addicted to the energy her writing evokes. It was just one of those books that I could fall into and wonder where the time went; completely caught up in it. I found myself laughing out loud quite a few times, and I may have even shed a tear with the jaunt down memory lane, but overall, this is my favorite book in the series so far. Interestingly enough, I feel the setup for the third book was a notion planted in the very beginning of this one, so by the time I got to the end, I seriously high-fived myself for knowing where it was going! HAHAHA! I am excited for Broken Love Story now!!! And if you haven't figured it out by now, I am admitting that I really liked this one. Like....really.

You HAVE to read Perfect Love Story before you read this one. It basically covers the same thing but this is from Crystal and Gabe’s point of view. It’s a different take with different insight but it will still gut you.
Since I read Perfect Love Story, I have been utterly consumed with thinking about Crystal and Gabe and how their story will go. It definitely did not disappoint me in the slightest way, in fact it was way better than I could have imagined.
Crystal is Hailey's cousin and best friend. She moved to be with her after a tragedy occurred. She is a fantastic nurse that ends up working with/for Gabe. She is strong, independent, and definitely sassy. Gabe is Jensen’s cousin, a doctor with an aversion to camping, and a formerly jilted groom. He doesn’t want to fall in love again, until he meets Crystal and he is relentless in his pursuit of her.
They could blow the roof off of a house, their chemistry is so hot and explosive. They have great banter, and the both push and pull each other and it is HOT!
I really cannot come up with a way to describe just how much I love every single one of these characters. The writing in this series is so different from Natasha Madison’s other work but it is just as good, if not better. I can’t wait to read the last book, I’m on the fence about it because who it’s about but I know I will love it too. -
I’ve waited until the very end to write my review because I needed to regroup and think about it. This is a 3.5 star story rounded out to 4.
Crystal moves with her best friend who has gone trough a traumatizing event. She takes a nursing job in her new hometown. Imagine her surprise, the doctor she works with is the one night stand she had a while back.
Let’s start with what worked for me. I loved the storyline on this couple. The bantering between these 2 was funny and lighthearted. They had chemistry. They both got what they wanted at the end with a kick ass HEA.
What I struggled with is this is the second story in this series. The first book featured an event that impacted quite a few people. So crystal plays a big role in the first book. She was impacted by that event too. So there is a lot of recap on it. I thought there was a little too much and it took the spotlight away from Gabe & Crystal’s story. Gabe‘ s POV was great but Crystal’s was mostly on what I already read about.
I still love this series so far and will continue on.
Story that is part of a series that is told in a dual POV with an HEA. I recommend this story. -
I’m not going to lie, I have some mixed feelings about this book.
I really liked this couple. We got a really good feel for them in the first book of this series and even though they were funny and have great chemistry I did feel as if there was a lot of repeat in this book from the first book.
At the beginning of this book I felt Crystal’s heartache concerning her infertility. Then she falls for Gabe (which as yummy as he was, is completely understandable) and he voiced his dream of settling down and having children quite often. She obviously knew she had to give him up since she couldn’t give him any of that.
I just have to say without giving anything away that I was a bit perplexed on how it all played out. I don’t really understand how??!! I feel like some medical things didn’t quite add up.
I guess I am just being picky because it was still a good storyline, just not so sure it was believable. -

~ 4.5 Doll Face Stars ~
Unexpected Love Story is the second book in Natasha Madison’s Love Series. I enjoyed this one just as much as the first book in the series.
I found this story to be captivating and heartbreaking all at once. I loved the characters, but I knew I would since I loved them in the first book. I think my only real complaint about this story was that the first 1/4 of the book was pretty much a retelling of book 1 (Perfect Love Story) I would’ve liked getting to the heart of Crystal and Gabe’s story right away. I really didn’t think all the build up of the past book was necessary. I did like however that as the story moved on and focused more on Crystal and Gabe, that the story was still intertwined with the first book. We got to see some of the scenes in that book from Crystal and Gabe’s POV, which I though made the connection to all the characters that much stronger. This story filled in some blanks for questions that arose while I read the first book.
I don’t know if I would say this is a complete standalone, but I guess you don’t have to read the first book to still understand and enjoy this book. I only suggest reading them in order, because the stories are so intertwined that things will make more sense if read in order.
I will say I didn’t find this story as heartbreaking as the first story, just because storylines are slightly different. Now that doesn’t mean this book isn’t an emotional rollercoaster and you will be yelling one minute and either crying or laughing the next. You just hit some other emotional spots in this book compared to book 1. I thought this book moved at a little faster pace then book 1 but it worked for Gabe and Crystal. It showed that some unexpected things can be great!!!!
As you can tell we follow Gabe and Crystal. Gabe is the local doctor and cousin of Jensen’s (Hero in book 1). Crystal is the cousin of Hailey (heroine in book 1) and has just taken on a new position in the local clinic as a nurse. What she wasn’t expecting was to run into Gabe again and to find out he is her new boss. Gabe and Crystal first meet totally unexpectedly, so random that they don’t know each others real names. When they are face to face again, things don’t go so smoothly. Will they get over their past issues to find their HEA?? What happens when an unexpected meeting turns into something even more?? Read this story to find out.
If you love a romance story about chance meetings, then this is one you will want to read.

Whoo Gives A Hoot*
Unexpected Love Story is the second book in the Love series and I think that Natasha Madison may have topped her last release in my heart! After meeting Crystal and Gabe in Perfect Love Story I was super excited to get my hands on their story because we were left with some major clues at the end of the first book and I needed to know what was going to happen between them as soon as possible!
The moment I noticed that this book downloaded onto my kindle I immediately began to read and didn't put it down until I reached the very end because I couldn't put it down. I freaking adored every single moment of this story and loved getting the opportunity to relive certain events described in Hailey and Jensen's story as well as other events that were occurring at the same time the first book took place. It was nice to see some important scenes in a new light.
Crystal and Gabe have both experienced some unexpected circumstances recently and the last thing either one of them expected was to find themselves attracted to one another. Their love story was unique and chaotic at times, but that just added to the experience of this beautifully written story! The author has once again captivated my whole heart with her brilliant storytelling and I cannot wait for the final book in this standalone series! -
This is the second book and the story continues with Gabe& Crystal. As in previous book, I loved strong family bonds and I also liked Gabe, but together they just did not click for me. Perhaps because of the unnecessary and unrealistic situation with Crystal. When listening to the first chapter, I felt so sad and my heart broke for Crystal's reality and then, by the end of the book; "A Surprise!" I don't want to give spoilers here... 2,25 stars.
-
Just like book 1, I could feel the pain from these characters from page 1. I could also tell Gabe wasn't really hurt from his situation. Just pissed. He fought for Crystal from the beginning. This book was more light hearted and funny. Nothing like book 1. It did have some emotional stuff though. I am so glad this couple got their HEA together. Miracles do happen.p

“I can’t breathe without her.”
What would you do if your dreams were shattered at the young age of nineteen? If all of your hopes just disappeared with only a few words? If you’re anything like the amazing heroine in this book, you would pick yourself up and try and live your life the best way you know how. You would go through the motions day by day, seeing only black and white, with absolutely no color in sight…until you lay your eyes on your salvation. Then nothing else will matter…but him.
In Unexpected Love Story, Natasha Madison has managed to put my heart through the damn ringer once again. Gabe and Crystal’s story mangled my heart and captivated me at the same time. You get a little taste of these two in book one of the series, Perfect Love Story, but you will have no idea of the depth of love, passion, animosity, and fear between these two individuals. It was freaking amazing to experience, and the minute I set the book down, I wanted to start the heartbreak and mending all over again.
Unexpected Love Story is an absolute MUST READ ROMANCE if you crave the sexy, emotional, and angsty goodness throughout each and every page. Gabe and Crystal are a special couple. They were witty, fierce, and sarcastic. They stole my heart from the very beginning and it only deepened my love for these characters and this series even more than I thought possible. You have another WINNER on your hands, Natasha. Please don’t ever stop gracing us with your beautiful and emotional stories!
-
I really enjoyed Unexpected Love Story. Gabe and Crystal's story was quite unique and pretty entertaining.
Gabe is like a large yet sexy teddy bear. His loyal and fierce with his friends and family. So when he's left picking up the pieces of a failed relationship, his friends and family are there to help him move forward.
Crystal is the best friend we all love. She's strong in herself, helps everyone out and is always there when you need her. But no one knows that underneath it all, she's protecting her biggest secret. She erected a wall around her heart and moved on her with her nursing career - one of the best in her area.
Watching Gabe and Crystal were a hoot. As much as they grated on each other's nerves, it was the sexual tension that drove them to it. These two were practically starting an electrical fire every time they were around each other. And as much as they thought they were being sneaky - everyone seemed to know that something was going on.
Overall, it's a sweet and quick read. I definitely recommend reading these in order as they all blend together and would be slightly confused on things. My only gripe is that since each book has overlapping scenes, it felt slightly repetitive in ways and I felt myself skimming those scenes since they didn't give any new insight to things. Other than that, the book was enjoyable. -
I really hope I can do this book justice because if you thought book 1 Perfect Love Story was good then I have to tell you this book is even better, I fell for Gabe and Crystal hook line and sinker,If you love hot sassy strong heroines then you will love Crystal because she is the girl who stands up for herself and takes no nonsense from anyone not even Gabe the man with a sexy smile and a swagger to die for. I don’t want to give to much of the story away so I’m just going to tell you how this story made me feel. The characters in both books have so much depth, I think I felt every emotion and feeling possible while reading this one and although I didn’t want Unexpected Love Story to end I’m left wondering where Ms Madison is going to take us in the final instalment of her Love Story Series, I’m thinking if this book is anything to go by we are in for a real treat. I think each book could be read as a stand-alone but I would say you will get so much more out of them if you read them in order. I’m in love with this Love Story Series and I can’t wait for book 3, once again Natasha Madison has shown what a talented author she is and she certainly knows how to write a love story that leaves you swooning and feeling all fuzzy inside.
-
I liked Crystal's spunky character, so I really wanted to know her story.
Even when I expected it, I'm a bit disappointed that a big part of this rather short story is the same as the first book, but from Crystal's POV -
1.5 Stars!
-
Book 2 in the series and another good read, this one centers around Crystal and her new boss Gabe.
Years ago Crystal received news that shook and shaped her world, before the news she had plans...graduate top of her nursing class, get a prime ER gig and be a mom, now one of those was gone.
Gabe was left at the alter literally but his fiance and while drowning his sorrows meets Jane Doe and they have a no strings one night only best sex of our lives night. Turns out Jane Doe is his new nurse at the practice he has with his parents.
Their relationship is tumultuous. The two steps forward, one step back kind. Then just as things look to be leveling out and moving forward the past comes to roost and any chance at a HEA is in high risk.
I liked this read there was too much of the 1st book story in it and for me it took away for their story. Yes I understand they were happening concurrently but for me it was like reading less of a book. -
It’s always interesting watching two people, who clearly share an attraction, attempt to fight their feelings, refusing to open their hearts again due to a past that’s made them swear off the opposite sex. But a connection like Gabe and Crystal have is not something that will remain dormant, so try as they might, their unexpected love story is ready to be told, so these two need to be ready to help heal each other like they do with the patients that enter their doors.
Gabe and Crystal learned the hard way that love isn't worth the heartache that comes with it, but fate seems to be testing their resolve when they come face-to-face again, bringing the memories of their one-night stand to the forefront and making it incredibly difficult to not give in to the sexual chemistry that was evident throughout their one night together and hums between them every time they cross each other’s paths, which is quite frequently due to the nature of their jobs as well as the small community they reside.
I don’t usually sign up to read/review the second book in a series when I haven’t read the first one yet, but because I’ve heard such amazing things about Natasha Madison’s storytelling and the ease in which she writes the perfect blend of witty, steamy, and dramatic scenes, I knew I needed to make an exception and dive into Gabe and Crystal’s story, and I’m so glad that I did. Madison does a great job setting up the storyline and exploring the number of ways that one person’s deception has affected a significant amount of lives, leaving them picking up the pieces and finding a way to move forward when it seems impossible.
Crystal is the perfect woman for Gabe, even if he refuses to admit it; she’s intelligent, an amazing nurse, and she doesn’t allow Gabe’s broodiness to get the better of her. She holds her own around everyone and has enough sass and sarcasm to keep those around her on their toes, especially a certain doctor who acts like she’s a pain in his ass when, in reality, their battles make him want to strip her bare and reexamine every part of Crystal’s body that he once had the pleasure of exploring. I can’t blame Gabe for his negative feelings when it comes to women; his ex broke his heart, but it’s clear that Crystal can help heal it, but only if they’re both willing to risk their hearts again and stop keeping one another at arm’s length.
Gabe and Crystal’s story focuses on more than just the push and pull between them; there are issues that have to be dealt with that involve some of the secondary characters in the book, and while some readers who have already read book one may not need the insight/recap that is provided, this time, from Crystal’s point of view, it helped me understand the dynamics of certain relationships and the reasons behind Crystal’s decision to move and how it helps those characters closest to her.
Unexpected Love Story is a great read with just the right amount of angst, humor, and sizzle. I enjoyed the camaraderie amongst the Walker family as well as the tight bonds between Gabe and Crystal and their friends.
I made it a point this year to read new-to-me authors and Natasha Madison is definitely one I’m glad I was introduced to, and I can’t wait to checkout more of her stories!
4.5 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews) -
After reading book 1 in the Love series I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Gabe and Crystal’s story and omg was it ever worth the wait.
I love this couple, loved the chemistry, The arguing and most of all loved how they just fit together. I laughed, I cried and of course I loved!
Crystal is as independent as they come and she never plans to settle down. She gives up her job and moves to another state with her cousin to start over. When she starts her new job she was expecting Gabe. Loved Crystal, strong, sassy and fiercely independent.
Gabe wakes up after a one night stand to find her gone, what he wasn’t expecting was to find out she was the new nurse at his clinic. Gabe has a huge chip on his shoulder thanks to a broken heart.
These two are insanely hot together, and will have you literally laughing out loud at their craziness. I can’t say enough how much I loved this story. I would definitely recommend reading the first book before reading this one.
Another amazing read from an amazing author. I cannot wait for book 3!! -
Gabe and Crystal were introduced in the Perfect Love Story (Book 1). After reading the first 1/4 or so of this book, I thought it was going to be a point-of-view retelling of what went down from book one. I was wrong! Gabe and Crystal’s story was so much more; it was unexpected. Unexpected Love Story (Book 2) is the second installment in the Love series. This book pulled on my emotional heartstrings and managed to fog up my Kindle screen. While Unexpected Love Story can be enjoyed as a standalone, I would recommend reading Perfect Love Story first

5 Star review of Unexpected Love Story (Love #2) by Natasha Madison
This was one of those reads that grabbed me from the first chapter and refused to let me go. I went through so many emotions reading this book that I felt like I was on a never ending roller coaster. There was humour, angst, sadness and so much more.
What to say about Gabe and Crystal? Other than these two souls were meant to find each other I am not sure I can do them justice.Neither Gabe or Crystal ever envisaged finding their one and only and yet in Unexpected Love Story that is what happens.
The chemistry between Gave and Crystal was off the charts and the banter between them had me laughing out loud at times.
Although a stand alone I would highly recommend reading Perfect Love Story first as your enjoyment will be so much more, not to mention your understanding of Unexpected Love Story.
The secondary characters such as Gabe’s parents were wonderful which if what I have come to expect from Natasha Madison. In fact that is one of the things I enjoy so much about her books, her characters are easy to relate to and not perfect.
I fell for hard for all the characters in this story. Such was the depth and strength of Natasha Madison’s writing and her ability to draw the reader in. This book is a story of love, hope and romance well written and one I highly recommend. -
This is such a sweet story. It’s kind of an enemy/ friends to lovers but also with a second chance romance mixed in. Whatever troupe it is, I found it delightful.
