on The Lion and the Mouse: A Retelling of Aesops Fable

the title of this book, we can see that the lion and the mouse are opposite in regards to size.
The lion thinks in the book that because of the mouse's size that the mouse is not incapable of doing anything heroic which the lion finds out towards the end of the book that size does not matter when it comes to saving someone's life.
This book teaches a lesson that being little, small, or short does not mean that you are helpless, Having confident and believing in oneself will carry you far in life, I would let the children know that even with failure, you should never give up, Everyone can be a hero at something if they believe in it, And that size does not matter but perseverance will prevail, The Lion and the Mouse obviously falls under a fable subgenre, It is very short, teaches a lesson of kindness, and personifies animals, I liked how straight forward this book was but I did not like how short it was, When I finished the book, I was expecting more and didnt feel satisfied, I wish this book was a little longer, but yet I feel like all the information that was needed was already there.

The first page of this book had rhyming words, I was quite surprised when the rest of the book did not follow through with rhyming words, Therefore, I was a little disappointed and kind of glad at the same time

because I do not like poems.
The illustrations where creative and I like how colorful they were, I also like how up to scale the illustrations were, The lion was fairly large, the mouse was much smaller and there was a cricket that was even smaller.

Kindness was the overall lessen taught in this book, as it is clearly stated on the last page.
I was able to find a couple more lesson as well, For example, you cannot underestimate someone because of their size, The lion figured that the mouse was small and could not repay a life or death favor, The mouse proved him wrong because even though he is small, he has sharp teeth that freed the lion.
Another lesson that could be taught from this book is that it is always good to repay favors, If someone does a favor for you, it is only right that you do the same and show your appreciation.
This could also cause them to want to do more favors for you, Overall, I enjoyed the book, but I wouldnt consider it my favorite or really recommend it to anyone,
it was very favorite when i was younger, I remember when my grandpa used to read me this! i just love it A mouse begs a lion for mercy and, after he is set free, promises that he will help the lion some day in return.
Cute short story about never underestimating someone, That each person has their talents and abilities, The pictures in this are really nice and colorful, Librarian Note: There is than one author in the Goodreads database with this name, .
