short story

For a short story, there is nothing unexpected about this book, The characters are flushed out enough for you to know them but not really feel invested in them unless youve already read the previous stories, The plot moves quickly and requires you to assume certain things happen, All of which is pretty standard in a short story,

For not having read any of the authors other stories this one sparked an interest to read the others so I could have the back story, My only disappointment with this story is that it has the potential to be a lot longer than it is, Danielle DeLuca spends her days waiting tables and struggling to make ends meet, Her fortunes change when she takes refuge from a rainstorm in the towns strange new antique shop, Danielle purchases a beautiful ring, The shopkeeper informs her the ring grants its wearer the ability to transform into any animal,

Unbelieving, Danielle places the ring on her finger and utters the spell, To her amazement, the rings powers are real and Danielle is transformed into a cat, At first, Danielle is enamored with her new ability, However, she soon finds herself addicted to the nightly change,

Aided by her friends, Danielle seeks to remove the ring and break free of its hold, But, she finds it stuck on her finger and the cost of removing it may be exorbitantly high, Alden Bauers was born and raised on Long Island, He currently resides in Spartanburg, South Carolina where he works as a computer technician, Hes married and has two young children, When hes not writing or spending time with his family, Alden enjoys modeling the Pennsylvania Railroad in N
