Baby Bequest (Billionaires and Babies, #4) Reviews

I wish I could unread this book. It was okay at first. He left her without a goodbye but he was the love of her life and she thought she was his. And then he was gone. No word nothing for twelve years. And then he appears out of the blue when her Dad dies and he comes back to help the h win the custody of her niece. His thoughts were cryptic and the writing was just strange. Of course they marry, they have sex and all this time he is saying to himself he has to leave her because he is destined to be a loner. For goodness sake. Aren't we feeling sorry for ourself? I didn't understand why but after about 80% into the book I found out why, and my feelings for him which were ambivalent before became total disgust. Get over yourself you disgusting lump of humanity! He leaves her of course. He then is in the airport and has to hold a baby, which was totally unbelieveable. Why would some stranger give his baby girl to a strange man standing in the lobby? As he is looking down he thinks I almost had this once. He had an affair with his PA and she got pregnant and he told her he had no desire to have children, that's why all his affairs were brief and platonic, and he was pissed and was mean to her so he didn't take her on the business/pleasure trip he was planning with her and she got into an accident and died. That did it for me. If I had known that was coming I would never had read it. I don't like that. I knew it had been twelve years so I knew he probably had moved on, but he made such a big deal about her still being a virgin, I thought maybe he had been celibate too but no. He even made a baby with someone. Just yuk, and wasn't it convenient that she died so he could go mess with the h again. After he left the first time, she went into major depression and had to be treated for it but even though he found that out, he still left her again and now he is remembering the other baby and I was just like Whoa Nelly! This book's plot was just too much for this crazy old lady. I dnf'd it right there at the end pretty much. I don't care how it ended. Enough is enough. There are some other twists in the book about how her Dad and sister/husband died, and how the custody of the baby went but I just couldn't get past his other dead baby mama drama.
p.s. I did skim to the end and he does go back and love the h of course after telling his sad, sad story. Another HEA from HELL for me. Tell me again why do I read this stuff. I need a jaeger bubble bath. -
I was sooooo bored! This book gave me ADHD.
Writing: Decent. There were a couple of expressions I didn't understand...maybe a cultural barrier. The writing was kinda boring though.
Characters: I really wasn't attached to either of the MCs. In my opinion, Robyn Grady didn't do a good job of building believable chemistry between them. I was bored with the characters.
Storyline: Lots of potential, but the story was told in such a boring way that I found myself browsing the web, washing dishes, playing a game on my phone, looking up recipes, etc. Even the climax was a snooze. I can't really pinpoint one thing...I was just bored.
Intimacy Scenes:
Overall: I was bored with this book. I can't say that it was horrible, I just didn't like it. Keep in mind I started with book 4, so that may have something to do with it.Did I mention that I was bored? Well, I was...bored. -

All the right elements were there but the writing wasn’t. The heroine did nothing, let the rich hero from her last do everything. And the stepmom was a super witch but it was just brushed over. Whaaat? This woman needs sever punishment. “Oh she hit on the teen hero/stole the heroine’s pet bird then let it go after she couldn’t have it/mocked the heroine for using antidepressants after the hero left/got the heroine’s dad to write the heroine out of the will/cheated on the heroine’s father/got her lover to kill the heroine’s entire family/Wanted to keep the heroine’s niece and put a restraining order against heroine claiming she harmed her/tried to trade the baby for money and wasn’t raising her”.......whoa. The hero was bland too. In the write author’s hand this would have been a great story! Alas skip it.
