Gain Access Handwriting For Heroes: Learn To Write With Your Non-Dominant Hand In Six Weeks Written By Kathleen E. Yancosek Compiled As Softcover
thought it was funny that this popped up in Giveaways after I had decided to retrain my left hand, I was copying a passage from a book every day forminutes, but I seemed to peak around dayor so with little improvement in motor functions and fine control.
I've been working with this book for over a week now and have found much more improvement in hand strength and control, The exercises are challenging at first, but of course with more practice your skill improves and the exercises become easier,
Definitely would recommend as a supplemental workbook for those serious about learning to write with their nondominant hand, I purchased this to prepare and cope while I was unable to use my right hand following a shoulder surgery, The exercises are easy to follow, and were effective at teaching me to write well with my left hand, Ultimately my lefthanded writing might actually be a little nicer than my right handed writing! By targeting adults, this book preserves the dignity of those who must "relearn" the basics of handwriting by providing an alternative to children s workbooks.
All tasks are oriented to the adult learner, Handwriting for Heroes is a taskoriented workbook that approaches learning to write with your previously nondominant hand through meaningful repetitions of purposeful writing tasks, Handwriting for Heroes captures the extraordinary learning process of a very ordinary task: handwriting, HThe methods of instruction are based on motor learning principles and the dynamic process of skill acquisition, This is a firstofitskind workbook designed for adult populations who sustain injuries to their dominant hands that permanently impair dexterity functions, Learning to write with the previously nondominant hand can be a rewarding accomplishment along the recovery path it is an accomplishment that leads to improved selfesteem, increased opportunities for hobbies and work occupations, and one more illustration of the adult s ability to overcome adversity.
