Ryan is well aware that Darcy’s life circumstances have made him a natural Dom, and it’s for that reason, he’s reluctant to do any kind of sexual role play with him which would give Darcy the taste to dominate; although secretly, Ryan craves submission. When Ryan’s ex lover reappears, it rekindles his addiction, an addiction that went too far in the past. In his attempt to ensure that Darcy learns to trust, Ryan neglects his own sexual needs, which leads to circumstances which threaten to tear Ryan and Darcy apart for good.

3.5 ⭐s Combined Reviews Parts 1 & 2
Originally read in paperback form August 31, 2009.
Started out to be a really great read, but then the extreme bdsm aspects marred it for me. I love how the author wrote and the emotions engendered, but I felt it could have been so much better if it was more traditional. And Darcy forgave Ryan too quickly - way too quickly. They spent more time apart over silly misunderstandings than the huge betrayal regardless of Ryan's past - which he went through in about five seconds. Then all was forgiven. If you like books with weddings, brothers, business partners, a sex therapist, a history professor, personal ad dating, mix ups, and first time being with a man. -
1 star, one of the worst books I'd read in a long time.
The reason for the was pretty stupid, Darcy deserved better but well having a friend like Louise didn't help at all, she was even worse than Ryan. -
I would like to give this one more stars but just can't. I like Darcy and Ryan but geeze, Ryan comes off as an idiot in this sequel. He is a sex therapist that litterally won't talk to his boyfriend about sex. It is mind boggling.
Then the argument between Luise and Darcy's brother when she defends Ryan is so silly it was hard to read. Again another sex therapist that disregards all of her knowledge and training in his defense.
I know we are only human and anybody can make mistakes but in this case the actual conflict was just too hard to buy into.
The sex scenes are pretty hot but some of them do not take place between Darcy and Ryan which was dismaying on many levels. -
In short: a good idea at first, but poorly written and unrealistic ...
For me, it's not worth the price of the book ... -

Um. These m/m romances were codependent trainwrecks of pseudo-bdsm, the two main characters were both TSTL, and I only kept reading out of sick fascination for how bad it could get.

You should read the first one of this series, it makes more sense.

BDSM, Cheating.
-
Just as entertaining as the first book. I highly recommend both as they have great characters, fun stories and hot sex!

If he cheats on me I'll kill him...unless he really does it then I'll fold like a house of cards.
