A walk on the wild side with her favorite bad boy is just what this good girl needs.
The Strip Series, Book 1
Mollie Mason is sure her night can’t get any worse. Stuck in an inflatable rubber cake, she overhears her fiancé slamming her to the entire guest list of his bachelor party—and then she catches him cheating! But discovering her high school crush has witnessed her humiliation is the icing on the cake.
Cade Gallagher has wanted Mollie for years. And when she asks him to help her prove to the world—and herself—that she’s not just a good girl, he knows he’d be a fool to say no. But she wants a temporary fling. Will two weeks be enough time to convince her to take a chance on him—forever?

Taking the Cake (The Strip, #1) Reviews

This was super cute. And a bit sexy. And friends to lovers, which I love. Mollie and Cade were friends in high school. Mollie was always straight-laced, smart girl. Cade was more of a bad boy. And while many people looked down on Cade in high school, Mollie was not one of them.
Eleven years later, Mollie is about to get married to one of the schlubs they knew in high school. It's the bachelor party, and Mollie's best friend dared her to get into the cake and pop out like a stripper. While inside the cake, she hears her fiance say some rather derogatory remarks about her, and as she pops out of the cake enraged (and somewhat embarrassed), he's getting a blowjob from one stripper while sucking on the boob of another.
Cade, who has not been in town for virtually eleven years, is the only one to recognize that the cake stripper is actually Mollie. And he goes to comfort her. And she makes him an offer he can't refuse, since he was basically in love with her in high school. Though Cade is not really a bad boy anymore, he can definitely prove she's not straight-laced either.
Cade was wonderful. Mollie was awesome in how she came out of her shell. A great HEA. -
GREAT STORY! I absolutely loved this book. It's only 73 pages but wow does it pack a punch. The chemistry between Cade and Mollie is off the charts HOT! The steam was rolling off my nook. Lol. Blaine is Mollie's fiance but not for long. He is a total assface. Cade is an old high school crush who didn't know Mollie felt the same way back in school. But now he's home and is ready to show her what they can be together. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Liked the trilogy of books (all short stories) in this series, but they were WAY too short. I would have really liked to get to know more about each couple.

Taking the Cake by Kate Davies is a 2nd Chances novella. I read it in under 2 hours and found myself really hoping the h & H would find their HAE together. Cade is a great MC and Mollie discovers she has more assets and strengths than she previously believed.
The FM and MMC went to high school together but each “ran in separate crowds.” Fast forward ten yrs and by chance, Cade/MMC and Mollie/FMC both attend her fiancé, Blaine’s, disastrous bachelor party, separately. Without providing any spoilers, just know that what happens at the party sets the scene for the remainder of the book.
I enjoyed and recommend this book for readers of contemporary romance, particularly those who are looking for a lite, quick read. Taking the cake has sexual intimacy between the main characters which, IMO, is closer to steamy than sweet. There was no (or minimal) profanity. -
Sweet short story with an awesome HEA!!!
