Silent Ship, Silent Sea Reviews

  • Gordon Permann

Exceedingly well written, from the view of a former Tin Can sailor familiar with the locations described and the life aboard such a ship. Little details, the author simply gets right - having gone through a significant storm off Africa, we had the identical situation of having the deck of our ship inundated with weary birds of many types, just as described in the book. Good pacing, believable characters, I'd recommend.

One of the best WW-II destroyer books! I read this because Robb White wrote The Lion's Paw, which I read in 4th grade and still have my copy, and I wondered what his other books were like. He was an incredibly good YA author. I will read more of his works.

One of the greatest World War 2 adventures I've read. I love Robb White, he will continue to be a favorite young adult author of mine.
