The Greeks Long Lost Son Reviews

A Harlequin romance with a sekret baby, rotten relatives and a separation. NOT AN HP. Any angst has been ripped, sucked, drained and scrubbed from the book.

You would think that after being beaten, left for dead, scarred and lied to, the H would be a little angrier, but it's almost, Honey, I'm home!

It was a sweet second chance story that was derailed by some Dick and Jane writing and a complete and total lack of angst. I know, I know. I'm a hypocrite.

I really liked this book despite its sometimes shaky writing. The young lovers cruelly separated years ago and the H coming back and discovering he has a son and wanting to be a part of his life. Sounds familiar but I liked the surprisingly fresh treatment with the all-Greek background and way of life (where family and church going are integral parts of life) that appeared more real than the usual playboy Greek billionaires/private islands/high society thing; and also the way the son and his friend are incorporated in the story.

And for a change the h/H are both nice people with no burning resentment or desire for revenge. Their behavior towards each other makes it easy to believe how crazily and sweetly in love they must have been as teenagers (even without any sex scenes in the present). I totally loved the few reminisces from their school/church going days like when he used to sit behind her and whisper to her.

But the story is patchy and the flow slackened at times. But still it has a sweetness to it, which is undeniable. So 3 and a half stars to this book but maybe it deserves a 4 if only for it’s simplicity and sweetness.

Too ”perfect” - not much angst, all is forgiven, the kid talks like an adult

  • Lostintime

I have read better from this author.

It was all rushed and I could not feel the angst I normally look for in these tropes : second chance and secret child.

And the child is 6 going on 18 judging on his speech

  • Linda

The story was interesting, just the dialogue was too juvenile, made the characters sound as if they weren't very intelligent.

  • Tia

It was a nice HEA novel, there was some definite grim parts to it which turned my stomach a bit.

None of this read very realistic. Everyone’s reactions to mind blowing info was kinda to shrug it off. Skip.
