Werido Noir features a good selection of gothic and dark lowbrow art from 24 top artists. This is a follow up to Weirdo Deluxe published in 2005.
The selection of art is great. They are beautiful and true to the sense of lowbrow, with a wide range of styles and artists. Each artist has an interview on their ideas and thoughts on art. There's also a history on the Low Brow art movement, making it a good introduction.
Nice book for those into gothic and lowbrow art.

Like Jordan's previous book,
Weirdo Deluxe: The Wild World of Pop Surrealism & Lowbrow Art, this book showcases the work of a number of Lowbrow/Pop-Surrealist artists along with short interviews. My favorites include Jason d'Aquino, Bob Dob, Laurie Lipton, Tara McPherson, and Brian Viveros, but all of the artists featured in this collection are great. Here's hoping Jordan puts out another book in this series. -
Surveys "pop surrealist" / gothic / "dark lowbrow" art through 24 artists, for each giving a selection of their work and responses to a series of questions about themselves, their influences, creative processes, etc. Like his earlier
Weirdo Deluxe: The Wild World of Pop Surrealism & Lowbrow Art this would probably make a great coffee-table book in a Brooklyn hipster's flat; for me they're interesting and useful for considering the range of (fairly commercial) contemporary art. -

Gorgeously crafted book. The layout and spreads do justice to the artwork, and the interviews are interesting.

Loved it. An overview of gothic lowbrow art with a great background history and some fascinating interviews and discussions with the artists regarding their processes and themes.
