This story was pretty tame for a HP book, They had met and loved when she worked in Greece, He had seduced her but had no intention of marrying her, When she found out that he was engaged to another woman she left, Now fifteen years later he has moved in next door with his daughter, The story wasn't really all to my liking, He wanted just another mistress, And she was there. His Greek way of thinking was very telling that he got his way too much, She gave in too many times, There is a HEA ending of course but it was rather dry reading, Not one of my favorite books by S, Kendrick. And chance tale with a thread of realism, this actually made me a little sad because the h was so into the H, yet always having to control her feelings and being nonchalant.
Always in control and guarding herself, . . resonated with me. Um amor secreto Sharon Kendrick Paixãopaperback This is not a book with a crazy burning passion that kept hero from having feelings for any other woman.
This is a more realistic, sweet story of finding your first love again against a bittersweet backdrop of a cheating Greek sowing his oats.
What if heroine was one of the oats

Hero and heroine were bothyears old, he's a Greek playing around with tourists before he settles down with the woman he plans to marry.
He really does love the woman, but it's expected that he can sow some oats before settling down, He does have stronger feelings for the heroine than the other women he sleeps with but ultimately you got the sense he would have still married his sweetheart as expected, although heroine having been a virgin had a big impact on his Greek mentality.
He's almost relieved when he sees her in bed with another guy as it gives him a way out of a more complicated situation than he expected having fun with tourists.
This is more harsh

reality than romance, But he wasyears old so that helps me forgive him, and choosing to the Greek sweetheart was realistic, although I think this will upset a lot of readers, I actually preferred that the OW wasn't demonized, It made his conflict more poignant,

Dmitri and Molly find each other againyears later, He's a bit arrogant and insulting rich Greek style but apologizes pretty quickly if he says something hurtful and is really not even on the HP nasty jerk spectrum.
He's a really good man, devoted father, etc, I felt the year of their romance was rushed, but I loved that heroine moved on with other men although hated the lack of passion in her marriage.
. . it makes it seem like she didn't move on as much as Dmitri did, I didn't get the sense that she had the love and happiness that the hero did, But I liked the normal courtship, . . no blackmail, and romance they have, with real world scenes about thinks like who pays for meals, Once they are together, I think if she had taken more risk, she would have known he wanted more, earlier,

I liked thatyear old heroine felt her biological clock ticking, Also more realistic than unplanned pregnancy from one time on birth control, sure that can happen but to the entire population Very good emotional and very sexy I've downrated my original rating fromto both of which are for the h.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I hated, lothed, despised and wished to eviscerate the H in this book because he was a selfish, arrogant tt for at leastyears! Even writing about him makes my blood boil.


The "H" and h meet on his Greek island when they are both, He shags tourists all the time while waiting to marry a good Greek girl who is waiting in the wings for him, The h is no different at first and she gives it up on her first date with him because its instant love/lust for her.
It is for the H as well and his parents and the secret fiancee know that she is different to all his other women and resent her for it.
No one tells the h that he is promised elsewhere and when he cancels a date to go to a family party she sneaks there and sees him with the OW.
She is devastated and heads back to her accommodation and proceeds to get very drunk and passes out, A nice guy looks after her because he is worried and they caught in a VERY compromising position, The H uses this as an excuse to dump her and marry the OW practically straight away,
He is also a hypocrite as he wanted and expected to marry a good Greek girl but was disappointed in the h for giving up her virginity to him.
AAAGGGHHHH!!!!!

The h moves on with her life and marries and divorces a fairly nice man over the years, She has a good job as a womens travel writer and owns her own house etc in a nice part of London, Imagine her shock when the H moves in next door with hisyear old daughter and manages to insult her by implying shes a kept woman all in one day.

Turns out the wife died after a difficult pregnancy and birth and he has been discreetly loving various ladies all over the world ever since.


He and the h end up having an affair and it is an affair he wants her to have nothing to do with his daughter he just wants to have sex with her at her house all the time but only in the spare room because he is worried she might have slept with her ex or other men in there she cannot darken his doorstep at any time.
She can also pay her own way which the H doesn't really like as he isn't used to it,

This goes on for a few weeks and he eventually caves and takes her out when the daughter spots them walking home.
h tries to brush it off as friends but the daughter is not stupid and tells her dad that he should be dating and she isn't bothered.
h is now allowed to visit his house and speak to the perfect daughter who wants to be a doctor, Only she doesn't she confides to the h, she is gorgeous and wishes to be a model and has been approached by an agency.
Will she tell her dad When she does the H is unamused by her trying to get a wedding ring by befriending the daughter and he dumps her.


He is soon crawling back for sex though nothing more and when his weeks in London are up they spend the next year or so meeting in various worldwide locations and conducting a discreet affair.
The rot does start to set in for both though as the h realises her biological clock is ticking and the H isn't the man to give her marriage and kids, only good sex and he wants more but doesn't realise what.


It all comes to a head and H invites her back to his island the h is of course in love with the H an goes despite her misgivings and the daughter joins them.
Turns out the daughter wants to live in London and the h will make an excellent chaperone and she feel set up by the H and goes off for a cry.
When he goes after her he says that she can marry him and have lots of kids as he is Greek and that is what Greek men want.


The h agrees and the epilogue has the daughter atand the H and h have twin sons, They don't go for the promised/babies as the h realises the H is worried he ma lose her like he lost his first wife.


I'm sorry but I do NOT want to read about a besotted H marrying his betrothed and having a nice life.
The marriage was to all intents and purposes happy If reading between the lines not as passionate as his relationship with the h.
The daughter was a honeymoon baby and they would have been together forever with lots of babies if she hadn't died, The fact that he was "engaged" and yet sleeping with a load of tourists under his parents and betrothed nose with their tacit knowledge disgusts me and makes me want to turn the H into a eunuch.
I wanted the OW to ditch his sordid ass or for the H to be miserable in his marriage but having to lie in his bed of deceit and making the best of it because he loved the h and she was his one true love.


I'm glad the h slept with other people and got married even if it didn't last would have served the H right if she had lots of babies as well.
