  • L-Angelica Herrera-Vest

Robyn Green, the author of this 1988 Rumplestiltskin version creates a puzzle-like retelling of the German tale from the Grimm Brothers. As she writes the story she leaves out words and replaces it with a picture. Primary age students would enjoy this story. The picture are funny, whimsical. At the end Rumpelstiltskin hobbles off to the forest.

Students will be mesmerized by this enchanting retelling of the classic fairy tale. The story is written like a puzzle with pictures instilled intermittenly to replace the words. Teachers can use this as a interactive read-aloud and students can say the word the picture is meant to portray outloud. Every page is a delight and beautifully illustrated. This book would be great for K-2 classes.
