I am an acupuncturist and regularly use herbal medicine, dietary therapy and other manual therapies to support my health. However I base my use of these on evidence and not simply because they are 'natural'. As a pregnant woman I am alarmed by some of the claims made by this book and I would urge all readers to do their own research before blindly following the advice contained within. You can do an awful lot to support you and your baby with diet but it is also important to know when to seek medical care.I also entirely refute the anti vax movement and there is overwhelming evidence stating that vaccines are not linked in any way with autism. To state otherwise is akin to being a climate change denier. The experts and Dr's quoted in the book are often mavericks and conspiracy theorists, again do your research before deciding to put your faith, and possibly your child's health, into their hands.I never write reviews but I felt compelled to do so here. I believe very strongly in the benefits of good diet, exercise and the use of herbal medicine (please see a qualified medical herbalist) but it is also necessary to use medication, vaccines and other 'medical' interventions when the situation permits. It shouldn't be a them vs us scenario complementary therapies complement the orthodox healthcare modalities used in the west, both can be used together with great effect. They are not an alternative to evidence based care.

An outstanding book! The first adequate book I've ever read about the pregnancy! All the books, brochures, even being in the top of popularity on are so far from the logical, natural, traditional way of eating and feeding a child.. I'm no from the UK and in my country in small villages the majority of people still follow traditional diets similar to what Weston Price was describing and you can see THE MASSIVE difference between kids from the villages and kids from the cities. So I've always been sceptical about the common advice in nutrition, and was tired of reading the advice to stick to fat free diet and base your nutrition on potato and pasta and the only big change in diet would be to add 300 kcal daily for pregnant women. This book is like a fresh air, explains everything in such a detail with logic and statistics and what i LOVE about it that the authors were not afraid to go against the government advice. Would recommend it to everyone who wants to be healthy and have a healthy family.

A great book with lots of vital information and highlights key points for pregnant women, in particular what things to be consumed regularly and those things to avoid completely, including the many toxic vaccines for children which make them ill and weakens their immune systems!

As others have said, some dangerous and outdated claims in this book. I.e it recommends pregnant women should take cod liver oil every day for a healthy pregnancy; scientific studies have shown that this can actually harm unborn babies due to high concentrations of vitamin A (retinol) in liver. On the other hand, some useful natural remedies for mild illness, and information on what to generally expect at different milestones.Just need to be cautious and double check the facts before following advice from this book.

Well researched thorough guide to raising family naturally. It’s been the best reference book on the subject for me. Highly recommend
