Rosie Graham has a problem. A few, actually. She just quit her well paid job to focus on her secret career as a romance writer. She hasn't told her family and now has terrible writer's block. Then, the ceiling of her New York apartment literally crumbles on her. Luckily she has her best friend Lina's spare key while she's out of town. But Rosie doesn't know that Lina has already lent her apartment to her cousin Lucas, who Rosie has been stalking for lack of a better word on Instagram for the last few months. Lucas seems intent on coming to her rescue like a Spanish knight in shining armour. Only this one strolls around the place in a towel, has a distracting grin, and an irresistible accent. Oh, and he cooks. Lucas offers to let Rosie stay with him, at least until she can find some affordable temporary housing. And then he proposes an outrageous experiment to bring back her literary muse and meet her deadline: He'll take her on a series of experimental dates meant to jump start her romantic inspiration. Rosie has nothing to lose. Her silly, online crush is totally under control but Lucas's time in New York has an expiration date, and six weeks may not be enough, for either her or her deadline.

I loved TSLD, but this is even better in my opinion! Maybe it’s recency bias but it doesn’t really matter because this is just so good!!Rosie is such a fun character that took a big risk to follow her dream, leaving her steady job and education behind. That must have been such a difficult decision and I admire her so much for that.Slow burn at its best, it’s spicy and sweet and ahhh!! I mean what’s not to love. The forced proximity, experimental dates and friendship. Lucas is to good to be true, Elena Armas knows how to write a dreamy MMC.There are lots of references to The Spanish love deception, Rosie and Linas best friends after all. Lina and Aaron are still goals which made my heart so happy. This is a must read, I highly recommend it.

If you loved the Spanish Love Deception, you're in for a treat with this one. I loved it SO much. We even got a surprise appearance from Aaron Blackford😩. This is the sequel to TSLD and it follows the story of Rosie (Lina's bsf) and Lucas (Lina's cousin). I already loved Rosie in TSLD so I was happy to read about her next. This slowburn friends to lovers x fake dating x forced proximity was 🥰🤌🏼. Lucas was AMAZING. Such a golden retriever boi. The extrovert to Rosie's introvert. His banter, the flirting. My goodness, this man had me distraught. Idk if I love him or Aaron tbh. I think they're on the same level. This story had me in a chokehold, the undeniable chemistry between Rosie and Lucas was INSANE. And the slowburn had me screaming into my pillow 😂. Rosie was super relatable, a bit awkward, introverted and pining over someone who she hadn't even met before. I absolutely adored her. Highly recommend if you love soppy romances. It was SO CUTE.

Was this book even proof read?! The number of typos had me pausing throughout and questioning how they were missed. Doesn’t take away from the story as such, which I loved. I felt like the typos made me read the book in the way you rolled your eyes when the kid who couldn’t read fluently volunteered and got chosen to read aloud in class.

She says it is worth reading but not the absolute best book she's ever read.
