I suffered a “back injury” while rapidly withdrawing from psychiatric drugs. The pain spread around my entire body as knots developed in my muscles. I quickly succumbed to the medical model of “chronic pain” and engaged in all sorts of physical interventions. I

This book is very poorly organized and needs to be rewritten with the help of a professional editor. Every page seems to be a mini essay, disjointed from previous pages. The book reads like a stream of consciousness personal diary of a man who suffered from chronic pain his

I want to thank firstly John Sarno and secondly Steve Ozanich for eloquently depicting the essence and depth of tms. I do not know where I would be in life without this book. We are our own HEALERS, the body was meant to be healed through nature’s grand DESIGN. Thank you

I suffered for 25 years from chronic low back pain and Colitis. Of course, no cure from the medical industry, so I read Healing Back Pain from Dr Sarno and then Steve's books on the subject of TMS for my low back issues, not even focusing on the Colitis. In two months I

Steve's book synthesizes the primary elements of TMS as I have come to understand this mindbody disorder and this is the key point, understanding TMS. It certainly took me sometime to really commit to the concept because of my long held beliefs in the expertise of

This book has changed me forever. I have suffered terribly from a condition for over 30 years, spent a fortune on therapies, none of which put a dent in the pain. Anyone in despair over an unrelenting long term condition for which there appears to be no solution could do

Pretty much confirmed what I was questioning. After 22 years of severe chronic pain and no effective medical treatment I now have had it confirmed, it is up to me. There is hope.

I had experienced chronic pain for over 20 years. I had tried EVERYTHING to overcome this issue That is everything except study the work of the late great Dr Sarno and, recently, Steve Ozanich. After reading Dr Sarno's book Mind Body Prescription, I started to actually believe that I could overcome this chronic pain. But I also felt that I needed some further information that could help me take steps to overcome it.I researched the many books on the topic of overcoming chronic pain before finally purchasing Steve Ozanich's book 'The Great Pain Deception'.It was a book that really educated and inspired me to overcome chronic pain. Some of the results I have gotten in this book thus far are:*For the first time in 20 years I am starting to run again. I have now gone on a number of 3km runs.*I can turn of my symptoms pretty quickly now. In case you are wondering, I had experienced knee, foot and wrist pain mostly. These symptoms started in 1999, so to FINALLY be able to have control over them is a miracle.*Most significantly, A LOT of the fear, anxiety and obsession about being broken, damaged or misaligned is now gone.*I am now starting to live and focus on my passion in life as the pain and discomfort fades further and further into the background.*I have had many days where I have had little to no pain at all.I have come so far from about 6 months ago, when I thought the ONLY answer would be a risky, costly surgery. If you are like my and you had tried many things, and lost hope, I encourage you to read The Great Pain Deception.

The Great Pain Decepetion is a must read for everybody as we all suffer from TMS at some stage in our life.Steve's story is really incredible and I think his research is very indepth.I like the fact that he has covered all the areas of how the brain functions. Has helped me and countless others to look beyond the usual ways of dealing with chronic pain and understand ourselves from a level not usually looked at.
