Claim Now Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 3 (Fullmetal Alchemist, #3) Articulated By Hiromu Arakawa Displayed As Audio Book
dark and partly cute The Elric brothers are sibling goals! " I don't really get alchemy, But I do get that what those boys are trying to do isn't easy, . . by losing their home, they were trying to make sure they wouldn't try to backtrack from what they were doing",
Cada vez me está gustando mucho más este manga, No voy a decir que es perfecto pero sí que es bastante bueno, Entiendo sus buenas criticas. Además, los personajes femeninos son geniales, Por otro lado, Alphonse se ha convertido en mi bebé, Que nadie le haga daño, que me da algo, Tambien Mr Amstrong, ese señor es unas risas, Im flying through this manga because its so addictive, Now I have to wait for the next volumes to come but boy, am I excited to receive them, I loved the different themes covered in Vol, especially the question of what makes a human, human, Excellent stuff. FINALLY! After three volumes, I'm giving FMA my first fivestar rating! Whereas the first two volumes were fantastic in building both the plot and the world of the story, it is in its third volume where Fullmetal Alchemist really soared to its potential, and to think that the series will get better Damn, every cent i spent buying this full set is more than worth it!
If there is a phrase to describe Fullmetal Alchemist or at least what I've read so far, it is "it's a perfectlybalanced and wellpaced story".
It has all the manga/anime tropes, but they are all used effectively here, For example, it is in those quiet moments in the manga that you get to emotionally invest with the characters, That investment explodes with payoff during the action scenes, The story progression doesn't feel rushed nor stretched too thin, Plus there's that right amount of humor delivered at the right moments that sprinkle this book with a right dose of laughter, Sure FMA does talk about serious things, going as far as the repercussions of war and the dark side of science, but Arakawa does not go full broody and dark.
The breakaway character of this volume by the way is none other than the kindhearted Alex Louis Armstrong, stars
Contains Spoilers
Edward, Al, and Armstrong are on their way to the boys' hometown so Ed's automail can be repaired after his arm was destroyed in the fight with Scar.
I enjoyed this lull in the tense drama of the series, Their hometown is isolated and idyllic, Pinako and Winry helped them after they dabbled into forbidden alchemy, and it's obvious that there is a great deal of affection between all of them.
These chapters are also a great opportunity to catch your breath, because the rest of the volume is one shocking revelation after another, followed by lengthy fight sequences.
When they arrive in Central, they learn that the branch of the library containing Marcoh's notes has just been burned to the ground.
Thinking that their quest has ended before it began, they are ecstatic to learn that a formed library employee can help them out, With a copy of the notes firmly in hand, they make another unpleasant discovery the price of making a philosopher's stone is far to high for them to pay.
But someone else has been willing to pay the price, and they are determined to learn how high up in the government the knowledge of this research goes.
Again, Ed and Al are forced to admit that some prices are just too high to pay, Because the boys are decent and good, the thought of making the Philosopher's Stone is now repugnant, Even though Ed has the ability and skill to follow Marcoh's research notes, he can't do it, The price is too high, And that is the other thing I love about this series, Even though Ed and Al won't pay the price to get what they want most in the world, their original bodies back, there are plenty of other individuals in this story that are more than willing to pay whatever it costs to cheat the system.
When Ed and Al are placed on a collision course with them, all hell breaks out, I guess the question for me right now is will they be able to keep true to their moral compass, or will they be swayed to do otherwise I think I've read half of this series, so I'm looking forward to finally finishing it.
I'm liking the characters more, but the plot wanders off into a nowhere digression about a girl with photographic memory girl before an extended and boring fight scene reveals a couple crumbs about the hohum larger mythology.
Seems awful early in the series to be throwing in so much padding, Another excellent and actionpacked volume in this epic series!!
After reading this third volume, I am reallyyyy struggling not going out and trying to find the whole series to own because it is fantastic and just amazed at how we have new characters being added into the story, but it's not overwhelming in the least.
Each side character is unique and stands well on their own as their own character, I can't say that any two characters are the same and that is completely awesome as a reader to feel this way!
However, the side character who gets the win is definitely Sheska! Oh my goodness, her passion for books/reading and reading be the only thing she was "good at" sounds completely hilarious as a reader, but her honest transparency and then bashing herself because it was her passion really stirred my heart.
I LOVED how Edward and Al helped her and how she was able to use that in passion in a job that truly was fitting for her.
As Al tells her, "I think being so passionate about something is a talent in itself, " Love love love it!
With that said though, things are continuing to get more and more intense with the overall story, Like with this new revelation, what are these brothers going to do now nervous laughter I feel that this story is fairly dark, but different than say Demon Slayer.
There is an underlying "issue" of humanity and humanity's worth with manipulation from the bad guys it seems, I really admire Edward in how despite the backstory and the "presentation" of the people they fight in this story, he refuses to take another person's life.
I mean, rightfully so because he IS our hero! But the conversations of these fighters hits deep and opens the gates for questioning the morale and ideas that these brothers hold dear to and fight for.
I have no idea what is going to happen next based off that ending!! Things don't look too good, but hoping one of the other state alchemists shows up because he's awesome and one of my favorite characters to see on page!
Again, another awesome volume! .

REVIEWS ANTERIORES:
sitelinkVolumen sitelinkVolumen OK, I'm enjoying this enough that I figure I'll be sticking with it for a while.
Looking ahead, I bought volumesin a single, combined volume, LoL
Perfect stuff for a break from work grind, Not light reading in the happiness and joy category, and surprisingly heavy going in parts, but perfect for a break from the drudgery of the computer screen.
So fun to read, . :D I'd honestly forgotten what took place in this volume, and even though the pacing felt smooth while I was reading it, afterwards I was surprised to note that the Labplot started here somehow it was all tied up in the events of the fourth volume for me, so realizing that I had recalled incorrectly was a tad bit jarring.
That being said, it doesn't really reach its fruition until the next few chapters, so the highlight of this volume is definitely the chapter about Ed and Al returning to Resembool.
It's a good thing that this happens so early in the broader scheme of things, too, because the relationships they have with the people and places of their hometown really humanize them.
Imagine how jarring it would have been if Arakawa had waited until after five or six volumes of these boys being like superheroes to show them as ordinary human beings.
Instead, she establishes this aspect of them early, which is nice, The essential strength of the story, after all, is that it's about the kind of people who feel real even if they can snap their fingers to create fire or clap their hands and remake buildings.
There's a market for stories about powerful, distant characters, it's true, but they're rarely the kind of narratives that really get into your heart.
This is also the volume in which Sheska and Maria Ross are introduced, as if I needed more reason to love it.
Love the brothers!
And the graphics!
And the story is so interesting, looking forward to continue This was a great volume!
As Al and Ed go to their hometown Resembool they meet Winry and her Grandma who took them in after the incident and they fix him up and we see their childhood memories here and them coming home and as they go to find Dr Marcoh's notes in the library and are met with a challenge and they decipher nots on how to make the stone, they find some astonishing things and then they go secretly to someplace but are confronted by two killers Slicer and Barry the chopper and its gonna be a big challenge for the Elric brothers.
This volume gets us closer to finding the real origins of the philosophers stone and what it really is and I love how they hint it as something thats evil too.
I like how Ed and Al grew close to others during this arc and pose some existential questions, And also the new villain designs are cool and some big storyline is coming for sure!
The art just gets better and is very easy on the eyes! “i kill, therefore i am.
”
and we are now back to our regularly scheduled semifluffy programming, this volume was pretty fun too and we get to learn more about the philosophers stone wonder if this was inspired by harry potter and how it may be made.
the brothers land in trouble as usual and this time around it seems even more dangerous, lets see if the odds will be in their favor next volume! I'm back and forth with my feelings about the characterization of Edward.
On the one hand, he's a "likable protagonist" in that we can appreciate his endurance and drive, On the other hand, I'm annoyed by the manipulation,
I did like a decision made about Alphonse's character, which balanced out my thoughts about Edward a bit,
Some of the characters that are only present in one chapter are bland and I'm pulled out of the story when they're regarded as important when they're not developed well.
In terms of entertainment, this series continues to be impressive, The worldbuilding is intricate and the plot is progressing steadily, I can understand why this series is so loved, Reread these first three volumes so I can continue on with the manga!! Enjoyed it just as much as the first time I adore the cast and the art style and everything about this series! MAN oh man I am powering through this series.
This is what happens when you buy avolume boxset and also have no self control, . . you just keep reading lol so brace yourselves for plenty more FMA reviews in the coming days!!
This one was a lot of fun! I seriously love Winry SO MUCH! There was a lot of great stuff in this one, learning more about the Elric brothers and their past.
Towards the end we get into some more action which was great, The fight scenes are excellent easy to follow and exciting, I love seeing alchemy used in combat, it's awesome! Gotta keep reading now because omg that ending!
“Youre not a nobody.
I think being so passionate about something is a talent in itself, ”
Wow, Just, wow.
Arakawa isn't pulling any punches, is she Because that revelation was huge and so incredibly disturbing and creepy and it makes everything about a thousand times more complicated.
Which is fun to me, the reader, but not really for the characters,
First, let's just say that Al and Ed's backstory is rather sad and it really highlights the love these brothers have for each other.
Which, at the end of the day, I think is one of the strongest points of this whole story, I love it, of course, but it does make my heart ache fiercely,
I like the nice combination of action, humor, and deep thought and emotion that we have going on here, None of them overpowers the other and nothing feels forced or too over the top, quite a fit all things considered, but they all interact naturally and at the right moment.
The philosophical bits we tackle now are, . . honestly, they make my head hurt a little because I get it but I'm not sure I would feel quite so strongly to a point.
It's fun to get to disagree a little with it and consider my own opinions over the matters being discussed, mostly because I had never once before considered them.
So many things are happening and I cannot see how they quite connect at the moment, I don't even have any theories which is a first because I am majorly confused, Fascinated beyond belied, sire, but confused nonetheless,
If the trend continues and the philosophical bits continue entertaining with the plot and the more practical parts is gonna be an amazing ride.
I'm already really enjoying it a lot and it's only the beginning,
“Strong, huh Ive seen that strength, It was there four years ago when he sacrificed his own arm to transmute his brothers soul when he decided to become a dog of the military at such a young age and when he endured the automail surgery that would make even an adult howl in pain.
I wondered where in that little body all that strength was coming from, And because hes so strong, I worry that when he finally does find an obstacle he cant overcome, will he be able to get back on his feet”
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I'm done with this one.
And I'm having such a blast reading this manga,
Seriously, I just love it all to pieces,
RTC.
This is literally all I really want to read so I'm caving in and continuing with it,
The cover alone makes me really excited to see what all of them are gonna get mixed up with, . . though I have a few ideas already about it,
I'm pretty sure I'll better prepare the feel well if I want to survive this one, Though, yet again, I'm notsure, . . I'll rather be prepared. .
