I had started this novel several times but was unable to finish it, Luckily, the audiobook worked well for me, The compelling writing, along with the complex main character Dostoyevsky made it a one of a kind reading experience, I feel this is pretty much overrated novel, . Some part of the writing has some literary merit, but unfortunately it is undone in other part by mushy,maudlin, unnecessarily melodramatic type of writing, . I had a really low expectation diving into this book but as I read on, I found how beautiful it was, The author has taken a purely foreign literary figure and made it his own, In fact, it is a tribute to the most famous Russian author Fyodor Doestoevesky, by a Malayali author,
Doestoevesky is portrayed as a gambler and a spitfire at the start of the novel, He's completely broke and moreover caught in debt, On top of that he has given his copyright to a publisher, Stellovsky, Meaning all credit of his book will go to the publisher lest he pay the debt, For completing his novel Doestoevesky hires a stenographer Anna, The novel describes his drastic change as Anna enters his life,
Oru Sankeerthanam Pole actually portrays the divine character of Fyodor Doestoevesky that only a few people saw, The book tells about the humanity that we're losing these days, the patience we lack and above all it teaches us the importance of sincerity, It also convinces us that everything we do has a divinity to it, just like Doestoevesky saw divinity in his writing,

What stands out is the simplicity and clarity of this book, It delves deep into the mind of this writer, It tells you of the first buds of love emerging from the hardened fields of his mind, it tells you of his failures and furstration, a bout of writers block and how in the end he over comes it all.
Let me be upfront and say that I have never read Dostoevsky and probably never will in the near future, When I retire and have cobwebs in my mind, I will shine the light of Dostoevsky to know myself,

I believe Perumbadavam understands Dostoyevsky and his mind very deeply, This gives us insight into the scope and depth of human mind,outstars!!
