YES! YES! Another fivestar book from Johnny Stone! I've enjoyed everything I've read from this author, but this book was by far the best.
It made me laugh, it brought me close to tears, it made me want to fight right along side the hero, and it left me panting for breath right along with the leading lady.


Set in, Johnny is a rough and tumble bounty hunter from Texas, traveling, for the first time, in space, and he's not a bit happy about it.
Yes, it seems like an odd time for space travel, but the way he the author spins the tale, . . it just works! Spacecraft and aliens are among us while colonizing other worlds and fighting the creatures from Mars, It's all the scifi erotic romance you can ask for between the pages of one book!

Johnny Stone is everything you imagine a man from Texas in the late's to be.
A gruff, single minded, gun slinger, who is, at times, down right ornery! He and "Horse" take off on a bounty hunt that takes him aboard the "The Dreaming Star" a good sized ship that is actually a passenger liner.
It's suppose to just be a means to an end, to get to a connection to take him to Uranus, or as Johnny calls it, "Yur'anus", in search of his bounty.


Johnny has a secret from his past, one that is heartbreaking and actually explains who and why he is the man he is today.
It will bring tears and make you smile at the strength of this man,

Captain Rainia Morwin is in charge of "The Dreaming Star" and it's not long before she sets her sexual sites on Johnny.
Rainia comes from a planet where women rule and men do as their told, but she craves something different, She wants a man to control her, As luck would have it, Johnny might just be that man, Or is he Can she really give up total control to a man

Johnny and Rainia are, literally, from two different worlds, can they really make it work Or will fate step in and decide for them if they should or shouldn't be together.

Johnny Stone is a rough and gruff oldschool Texan who has been through the grinder over hissome years.
Once a soldier fighting for the Republic of Texas and later a Texas Ranger hes now a bounty hunter picking and choosing the jobs he wants.
When he agrees to go to Uranus to find and bring home the son of his client and he boards the airship the H.
M. S Dreaming Star he has no idea hes about to learn something completely new about himself, Who says you cant teach an old dog new tricks

This steampunk story was a little different than the other ones Ive read.
Airships in this book can go into space and when in space its not much different than sailing the ocean, People can open portholes or go up on deck without dying from lack of oxygen in the vacuum of space, So, a bit of a departure from traditional scifi, Its hard to wrap my brain around, but if I could breathe in space then I might just go on that Mars expedition instead of staying firmly where oxygen is in abundance.


The writing is very good, the characters are welldeveloped, the plot is interesting and the BDSM scenes are hot, hot, hot.
Theres a scene towards the end that reminded me of Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean, It was very entertaining! The only problems I had were some editing issues punctuation problems and several instances of homophones and the ending was left a bit up in the air.

I ltSteampunk! This is the first steampunk I've read that has a BDSM element and I want more! : SampS has a little bit of everything cowboys, aliens, martians, pirates, romance, action, D/s, rope bondage, spanking, slaves.
. . and the list goes on, Johnny Stone has created a fun and exciting world with extremely likeable characters, I sincerely hope we see more of these characters and this world, Fingers Crossed D Once again Good Reads book clubs leads me to broaden my horizons and read something I wouldnt have normally grabbed on my own.


Johnny Stone crates a delicious world set in the Steampunk era that Queen Victoria herself would have enjoyed, This story is all that you would wish for in this type of setting, Add one real wild Texan cowboy with horse in tow and loaded for bear, one haughty and seductive alien Captain along with a ship load of Royal Marines floating through space.
Throw in a few marauding ships of Martian pirates and a whole lot of rough and tumble hot, down and dirty sex in between and you have yourself one hell of a sexy and exciting story.


The hero coincidentally has the same name as the author,
Johnny Stone is a real Texas cowboy with a colorful past, Hes a bounty hunter and he has business in Uranus, To get there he and his trusty steed Horse must embark on a British clipper ship the H, M. S. Dreaming Star and endure space travel for the first time in his life to get him as far as Port Elizabeth on Jupiter, before continuing with the last leg of his journey.

Captain Rainia Morwin is the proud officer in charge of the H, M. S. Dreaming Star. She is a tall buxom Venutian woman who bears a striking resemblance to Johnnys dead wife, Maggie, Rainia is from a planet where women rule, They are warriors who possess legendary sailing skills and keep men as slaves to serve their every whim, Rainia has everything a Venutian woman could want, but one thing is missing, Against her home planets culture she harbors a secret desire to serve a Master strong enough to tame and keep her as his slave.


From the moment Johnny and Rainia see each other as he boards her ship the connection is made and the sparks fly.
What ensues is a wild romp between the two as well as the excitement of pirates on the horizon which our Author Mr.
Stone writes with fervor and flair,

This book was a great read that grabbed me from the beginning, allowed me to be immersed in a world I wouldnt have dreamed of that kept me on the edge of my seat for a great finale, and then touched my heart during the epilog.
I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading more of Mr, Stones work in the very near future,
This was my first exposure to "steampunk" and I found it beautifully done by the author, . . this book is enchanting, the hero apparently, in the author's selfimage is a charming gentleman, who is solicitous of the heroine's needs which include absolute submission and cares for her most capably.
I did not become terribly emotionally close to the characters but I don't think this book is intended to engage at that level.
Instead, I stood back and allowed myself to be entertained, . . and, in fact, I happily imagined myself in the heroine's place in more than one scene,

So buy this book if you want to be entertained by a great story with amusing characters don't expect an emotional connection but do strap Y/yourself in for a fun ride! First let me get the less than positive comments out of the way.
Like most ebooks I've read this one could use a good editor, The author's wonderful use of the English language is impacted by the misspellings, incorrect words, amp use, This was my first foray into Steam Punk, I don't know how much is typical of the genre, but at first I had a problem with the Laws of Nature and Physics being ignored such as sitting outside, on the deck of a space ship, in outer space! But then, I decided to just 'go with it' and enjoy the story.


Enjoy it I did, It's a delight to read, it doesn't drag or slow down ever, Johnny, a cowboy, has gone into space for the first time, traveling to a planet on an assignment, he becomes involved with the female commander of the ship, an alien.
As I said, the author's word usage is a treat, both in depicting Johnny's emotions, and in the hot sex, For instance, this was the first time I've heard the term 'molten heat' used in a sexual situation where it was applied correctly.
It is also the first time I've read a straight, male author where the character development, emotional development, and sexual situations were just as descriptive as the battle scenes.


There's alien kink, BDSM, and HEA, what more could you ask for, I would definitely recommend this book, and plan on reading more of this author, I have to think on this one, The sex was interesting. The story didn't pull me in, I'm torn on this one,

Johnny Stone is a throwback uncivilized cowboy from the proud Republic of Texas, In this alternate world where Steampunk replaces electronic technology, Johnny

is a broken bounty hunter with nothing to lose, His latest assignment sounds more like a suicide mission which he hasnt thought out clearly, Ill prepared, hes constantly humiliated by others on the ship hes taking to his destination, The only redeeming light is his encounter with the ships captain,

Captain Rainia Morwin lusts after Johnny to her detriment, A femdom by culture and upbringing, shes a switch searching for a strong male dominant, She clings onto Johnny for some unfathomable reason, I found very little in character of Johnny to be likeable or redeeming, He doesnt turn me on and the way he participated in the downfall of Rainia makes me like him even less.


What didnt work for me in this story was how far and quickly Rainia fell from her position of authority.
I didnt find it believable nor did I find it pleasurable, It confused me and actually caused me to find her disappointing and I was a bit disgusted with her, Johnny was a character who came across as a lucky SOB without any redeeming qualities, Sure he can get his dick up and screw the brains out of Rainia, but other than that, I do not understand his allure.
Hes unable to plan and think ahead, Nor is he able to predict the consequences of his actions, People like this are on my list to avoid, The character development in this story just didnt do it for me,

What did work for me with the Steampunk aspect, I liked the world building and would have enjoyed learning more about this world, I liked the sexual dynamic between Rainia, Johnny and her boy toy, This was a rather short story which ended in an unresolved manner, I hoping this means there will be a follow up book showing us the next chapter between Rainia and Johnny, This book is for steampunk lovers who enjoy a bit of kink with a rugged Texan male,
