Helped me to understand yoga MUCH Tham I did, Novice yoginis can really benefit with this book Since participating regularly in yoga, I've wanted to know about how the asanas or poses involve and affect specific muscle groups.
This book provides clear illustrations for this purpose, I will enjoy referring to this book and sharing it with others in my This book is incredible!!! I decided that I want to do yoga teacher training in a year or two, and I wanted some books to help me start to prepare/expand on what I already know.
A couple years ago, I had looked through Yoga Anatomy, but it wasn't really I'm in ahr yoga teacher training and realized I needed to know a lot about anatomy.
I'd never taken an anatomy class, I'd read that Kaminoff's book "Yoga Anatomy" was excellent, but too wordy for newbies, and that Ray Long's books are a great place to start.
I Ive been looking at this book for awhile, Finally purchased and am so glad, Im studying for both CPT andYTT and this book explains anatomy like no other, Great photos and verbiage to explain, Dont be fooled by title though, its not just yoga. This book I see this book and recognized the value of how they highlighted the muscle used on
the poses, As a LMT I can work on those muscles that can be impeding the pose, This book has so much information that will help you understand how your muscles work to get into yoga poses, This book is extremely elementary in nature, if youre looking for something very basic, I was looking for something advanced, so Im returning it, Ray Long, MD FRCSC, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and the founder of Bandha Yoga, He graduated from The University of Michigan Medical School with postgraduate training at Cornell University, McGill University, The University of Montreal, and Florida Orthopedic Institute.
