Receive A Touch Of Scarlet (Oak Stand, #5) Curated By Liz Talley Disseminated As Script

am about a quarter way through and loving it, RIght now I'm enjoying the moments of Adam trying to maintain his dignity and Scarlet her fury while the strange little moments of small town life take them down to more human levels.
It's the small town stuff the Christmas lights in with the police processing kit at the police station that has me charmed,

UPDATE

Finished! I still enjoyed it, although the exboyfriend was a peculiar touch, And though Adam changed and grew, Scarlet wasn't as different as I'd expected she might be at the end, And the old perv thing got odd, BUT Hey, I'm off to find other Liz Talley books, I received this book from the author as a part of a GoodReads giveaway, It was the first Harlequin that I have ever read and I wasn't sure what I would think of it, I was pleasantly suprised and I enjoyed the read, I especially liked many of the characters of the small Texas town of Oak Stand, Ms. Talley draws some very vivid portraits of these characters, The plot dealt with some large issues, such as, censorship of books and the right wing thinking of some small town people, Ms. Talley kept the story moving along at a good pace and it was never boring, I have passed it along to another friend who, like me, is a first time Harlequin reader,

Scarlet shows us that what's wrong can sometimes be right and what looks right isn't always wrong, Throw in a long legged actress, a sexy hard headed sheriff, and very healthy seasoning of sizzling heat and you have yourself a hot mess that makes a meal by Scarlets sister look like a cold plate.
Miniseries: Hometown U. S. A. If you like stories about small southern towns youll love this, While this is a stand alone book I suggest you start with the first of Talleys books and work your way through, She has characters that appear in each book that youll love, I think I may have read this one before, It's cute but has a few missteps, not so much about Texas, but small towns,

The town is supposed to be small enough to have onlyorpolice officers, And yet the local library hasbranches! Even Waco, which has about, population, only has one or two library branches, I don't know of any countywide systems in rural areas that have more than one librarythe whole county just uses the one, Now some counties have a library in more than one town Bastrop County has a library in Bastrop and one in Smithville, Though Bastrop is getting to be more suburban than rural, . . Hill County has libraries in Hillsboro and in Whitney, But they're separate city libraries, So that tiny thing threw me off, There were some other things that didn't seem logical, and some legal bits, like not having a magistrate set bail but overall, it was a cute story and I enjoyed it.
Most others wouldn't have a quibble at all, Adam Hinton is a bythebook kind of guy, And as the new chief of police in Oak Stand, Texas, he has a few mottos, Do the right thing. Obey the law. Don't get involved with bad girlsno matter how secretly irresistible they are, Those mottos are put to the test when tootempting, toosexy, tooeverything Scarlet Rose speeds into town, Before the ink is dry on the ticket he gives her, he's hooked, Which means his efforts to create an ordinary, respectful life could be at risk,

Much to his surprise, it's the woman beneath Scarlet's sultry exterior who captivates him, And it's that woman he wants a future with, Because he's decided his whitepicketfence world definitely needs a touch of Scarlet! Favorite Liz Talley book so far! Really liked this one! Liz did it again! "The power of a woman".
Adam Hinton was a tough Police Chief, but he was no match for Scarlet Rose, It was fate when Adam pulled Scarlet over for speeding, What turned out as a physcial attraction lead to a meaningful relationship, Author Liz Talley did an awesome job of pulling the couple a part, then bringing them together again with a prank call to the police station, She tugged at the readers' heart strings, I appreciated the bookthrough, but that last chapter was awful, Completely rushed. I also did not like that no one ever felt the need to apologize to Scarlet for treating her like a dumb trashy slut throughout the entire book.
Charming romance between a sexy drama queen actress and a police chief who only seems uptight, There were a few minor plot issues I hadthe stuff about the exboyfriend at the end was kind of out of the bluebut Talley's writing is just so enjoyable and the sexual tension so sizzling I didn't care.
And although I'm not too crazy about series that go on and on, I am always pleased to visit Oak Stand, Texas, and see what Bubba Malone, the reforming gangsters, and the old ladies are up to.
There was not a boring moment in this entire book, and after what I've read recently, that's saying something, So fun to read about a drama queen personality who is a real live drama queen! Pairing her with a straightlaced lawman was such fun! This is a great pickmeup read!
