A dated and basic playwriting guide good for anyone looking to start out but not something I would rely on as the beall and endall performance making guide.
It leaves out a lot of other performance making script practices, such as devising theatre, applied theatre or performance art, You can also tell how old the advice is with their references to floppy disks, They haven't been used as valid data storage for a very long time now so some of the suggestions for data storage are somewhat invalid with USB devices, online data storage and advancements with email and other social media outlets.
The book is a good base for a beginner yes, but as someone who has studied Drama and performance making for three years now, there was little I didn't already know or understand for myself.
It's an okay outlet for beginning performance writing but unfortunately it's nothing outwardly advancing or explorative, A good starting point for real beginners, but nothing worth picking up for anyone with experience in the theatrical field already, Is this the right book for me
