book was interesting. It has testimonials from people describing their life with Lupus, RA and Fibromyalgia before and after this diet, This diet is a low fat, whole food, vegan diet, Whole foods mean food just as it is found in nature, They give the example of potato whole foods pasta not whole food, There aren't any pasta trees out there, There is also a chapter about fasting, She believes that fasting during an inflammation time can be helpful, There were parts of the book that I agreed with and will try to incorporate into my life such as reducing salt, sugar, flour and dairy.
I don't think that I could eliminate all of those but reducing my intake I think would be benificial, I also thought that the sleep and excercise section was something that I will be sure to take heed of, I probably will not fast or become a vegan but I felt that it was worth the read, More of a check out from the library book instead of buying it though, A good book about to challenge your fight against Lupus with the natural approach, appreciate the stories and approach of course her own personal success story is inspirational, I will try out the recipes on my way to a plant based diet to speed up my recovery Because I like to eat and I hate taking drugs.
And because the seven drugs I take fill up important space in my stomach that could be more importantly filled with cake frosting.
I hope that cake frosting is part of this diet, If not then I will write

the Cake Frosting Diet Book, Biased author though will definitely incorporate most of what she is saying into my lifestyle: eating whole foods and plant based though perhaps not as strict with it.
I also didnt appreciate her use of biased language: poison when referring to oils and delicious when referring to the plant based diet.
It just influences the reader to lean towards her opinions which I think she should just let the facts speak for themselves ed well enough to see that there's nothing new to me here.
Stop dairy and refined foods, Go vegan until inflammatory process calmed, Stop flours/gluten. Even water fast, or juice fast,
I'm too enculturated to cut out that much, I'll continue trying to cut out refined foods,

: I thought I'd looked at this before, and voila, I had! This review I thought this is way too extreme, Not for me.

: I became interest in the JJ Virgin Diet and looked at this again, Take what you can hear/apply and leave the rest, The only way to know if her prescribed recovery plan works is to do it, and there's no downside so it's definitely worth a try.

But she was wrong about proteins, There is such a thing as incomplete proteins and complete proteins, Whatever protein you eat is used right on the spot, so if you eat an incomplete protein, your body has to discard itit can't save it to combine with another incomplete protein later on.
So if you do cross over into vegan territory, make sure you're combining the proper foods so that you get enough protein in your diet such as rice and beans.
I am a systemic lupus patient myself and I've used this book several times during my life in order to help my body function better.
I am obviously taking medicine as well but I started feeling better physically and emotionally after having read certain selfhelp books like this one.
It has also helped me deal with sjogrens and other lupus related conditions I face daily so I would generally recommend it, The Lupus Recovery Diet "The Lupus Recovery Diet" is a compilation of stories of people who've overcome autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia through diet and lifestyle changes.
The book includes details of the program and delicious recipes, Full description.
