never knows what the next step will be when life hands you a situation that is so wrong, nothing about it is good.
As Malik comes face to face with the reality that Jennifer, the lady he chose to cheat on his wife with, was pregnant, Rebecca comes face to face with the realization that her marriage was forever changed.
Their best friends work hard, helping the two of them with navigating the hurdles of 'do I stay,' 'do I go,' and a number of life altering decisions in between.
Author Brown adds just enough drama to the mix to keep this story flowing, and she's definitely written a winner here.
This isn'tt a boy meets girl love story or a shoot 'em up hood story, Yet, there is enough grit and grime, enough chaos and mayhem, and enough kissing and making up to give anyone a fulfilling read.
I was in need of change of pace from the typical "urban fiction" and this is what was right before me.
Phoenix told a story that was undoubtedly Beautifully Perfect, My favorite line from her book just happened to be "I guess that's what makes our situation beautifully imperfect, " She said. "We finally have a beautiful child but sadly it's an imperfect situation, " Don't sleep on Phoenix, I'm sure there is more to come, . waiting on her next addition to my library, Sadness
You think you know how a story is going to end, but then it takes a twist that actually makes more realistic sense then any fiction could put together.
Malik stories unfortunately is the story of heartbreak and pain that no amount of counseling can get you through, Phoenix handled the story with as much realism that you're left with a Damn, come the closing sentence, "Beautifully Imperfect" was a very good read, I was amazed at how well the story line flowed with the different characters and their personalities, The title of this book was perfect for the different events that took place, "Beautifully Imperfect" was full of emotion, lack of trust, dishonesty, betrayal, deceit, lust and love, This book was such a reality that at times I felt as though I was actually a part of the story.
Phoenix Brown is a fabulous author and I look forward to reading more of her books, If you haven't read "Beautifully Imperfect", I suggest that you do, you will not be disappointed, Beautifully Imperfect is the epitome of drama, What makes this book unique is that it gives viewpoints from each character, A wonderful story of Rebecca amp Malik that start off with a great relationship and of course, drama creeps in rearing its ugly head.
Despite some minor editing issues and the drama being a bit much, it's still a great story, This is a great segue into her followup book which I will be reading real soon entitled All That Matters In The End.
Great job Phoenix on your debut! ed by CRABBIE
Beautifully Imperfect is a fast paced story about marriage, finding love, betrayal, and friendship.
Malik and Rebecca the married couple, Nicole and Charles friends that become lovers, and Jennifer one of many mistresses, This story definitely gets your attention from the first few sentences in chapter, You'll definitely get your share of drama, that will keep you turning the pages,
The story felt rushed in my opinion, I wished the story was more detailed and a little more complex especially with the amount of drama that went on in the story.
The timeline of the story was slightly confusing because years went by and you wouldn't notice until the characters mentioned it.
Overall, this was a good story written by Phoenix C, Brown. Perfectly Imperfect
The lives of four individuals takes you on a ride of love, lust and betrayal.
Will they be able to conquer their issues and live the life they deserve Enjoyable read, I would recommend This story had a good story line.
. . I was reading the pages waiting for that big bang and unfortunately I never got it, I did think it was a great love story and not a typical one at that, People looked for love in all the wrong places and found love in some of the most unexpected places, It was heart felt and relate able, However in my opinion it was missing something, I would still like to read partto see if my favorite couple got back together, I loved it Could not put it down !!! I just look this Author, I bought this book for a couple of reasons, The biggest one being I read what the author said in a post from a group in FaceBook about her grandmother supporting her.
I generally do not read cheating books as they press EVERY hot button I have, With that said, this is a good book, I couldn't put it down even if I wanted to a few times,
The characters are all very well written and they all just suck you in, I very much enjoyed Natalie and Charles, . . Malik was a cheating jerk I can't use the words I'd like here, . . Rebecca certainly had her moments and I DID like her,
The story sort of had a happy ending and sort of didn't, Keep in mind I say that because of that whole cheating aspect, This is Ms. Brown's debut novel. It is good, had maybe a few editing issues but I look forward to reading more of her work! Rebecca Thomas is living the American dream.
She's successful, beautiful and married to her high school sweetheart, Life wasn't perfect, but it was close enough, At least that's what she thought until she received the phone call that would send her world spiraling down,
Malik Thomas has never been one to be faithful, It's not that he doesn't love his wife but papa was a rolling stone, and the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
His motto was "a man's got to do what a man's got to do, " That's until his past catches up with him and jeopardizes his future,
Natalie Hunter's social life is low, but her bank account is high, As the owner of Hunter Enterprises, her focus is finding and hiring nothing but the best for her agency, When she meets Jennifer, she knows that she has hit the jackpot, Unfortunately, Jennifer's past may leave them both in a bad predicament,
Jennifer Nilon is on the verge of becoming the successful model that she has always dreamed of, Not only is her career about to flourish but so was her relationship with Malik, The two things she loves more than anything in the world are within her grasp, Then an unexpected surprise threatens to derail everything and forces Jennifer to make some lifealtering decisions for them both,
Beautifully Imperfect follows the lives of these four people as their worlds collide with such force, that they're all left picking up the pieces.
The storyline of this book was ok, but I was really waiting for something more to happen, It seemed like all of the ingredients were there by the end of the book for Becca and Malik, but I was just disappointed with their outcome.
It seemed like Becca couldn't catch a break, Just when I though she would achieve her happiness bam something else happens to her, I really liked her character, and she was relateable, I just wished that she could have been truly happy in the end.
I liked Charles and Natalie's relationship, but I thought Charles was disloyal to Malik one too many times, I am happy though that Malik never held it against him and they remained true friends, Although I didn't love this book, I liked it enough, and wouldn't mind reading more of this authors work, DISCLAIMER
I am the author of this book but I wanted to post here so that you can see what kind of story Beautifully Imperfect is.
Beautifully Imperfect is a story about love and the sacrifices we are sometimes willing to make to have that love.
. . even when it's only causing heartache! It follows the lives of Rebecca, Malik, Natalie amp Jennifer as their worlds crash into each other with such force that they are all left picking up the pieces.
The realization that the world is smaller than we think and that what is done in the dark comes to the light is the premise of this book.
It's a story of everyday people, living everyday lives going through things that at some point in time we went through or know somebody who has gone through it.
My hope as an Author is that you will take a chance on the story and love it as much as I loved writing it.
. .
Lovely story
Phoenox did a great job of showing how love ends up being what it is.
It can never be more or less than what it is intended to be
Great love story Phoenix Brown's Beautifully Imperfect grabbed my attention from page one.
Despite some editing issues, I found this book to a dramafilled and very entertaining read, I see a bright future for Ms, Brown. I must say that it took me a while to
get into this book because it was a slow start, but once the drama picked up, I couldn't put it down.
Phoenix did an amazing job of identifying with the characters and the story line, I did have to go back sometimes and look at beginning of the chapter to remember who was speaking and thinking and that was the only part that had me confused.
I am a true believer that a seed that is planted can not grow without love and happiness and that God doesn't show you true happiness until you are ready to receive it.
The main characters had a bond that showed real life situations and how "things just happen" sometimes! I do have to say that love truly does conquer all and I'm hoping that the sequel brings two of the characters back to the love they once shared and make their lives Beautifully Perfect! Good job Phoenix! All That Matters In The End is on my list to read next! GPRC Stand UP! Gemini Phoenix I read this book in less thanhours.
It was a very fast paced entertaining read, Phoenix Brown did a wonderful job of creating a believable story with characters everyone can relate to, I enjoyed reading the story from each persons perspective, I found myself falling in and out of love with the characters as they experienced their heartache and pain, The story offered lots of drama, I laughed, got angry and even cried,
Rebecca was in my opinion a little selfish, As much as I wanted to hate Malik in the end I found myself feeling sorry for him, My favorite couple was Natalie and Charles, I loved their story and their ending, Speaking of the ending I was a little surprised it ended the way it did but it left me wanting more which is a good thing.
Great job Phoenix Brown and I will look forward to reading more from you in the future, Ok read
This story was okay, The main characters Malik amp his wife Natalie just kept making stupid decisions, Natalie was the worst because she always jumped to conclusions instead of talking to anyone, She didn't confront her husband about his mistress calling her and t g an she believed the mistress over her best friend.
