found this little book of Rennie "secrets" extremely helpful, highly readable, and quite enjoyable,

This year will be my first as a performer at a Renaissance Faire, While I like to think of myself as a creative person, particularly in fashioning personae from thin air, I hadn't been able to really flesh out my RenFaire character until I accomplished a few of the exercises the author encourages her readers to do.
In this respect, the book was the most helpful, The author also infuses her insight into character development, RenFaire etiquette, and personal care with examples and appropriate anecdotes, These elements and her writing

voice make this unique tome an easy and a delightful read, This book will change your life, : OMG . . Lightbulbs continuously going off over my head, an amazing find, an amazing authour! I have the distinct pleasure of knowing the author and her fabulous Faire character so that made this book a little bit more special for me.

I've never "worked" at a Faire with the exceptions of helping out one day at the chime shop and running around the grounds handing people business cards for a leather shop.
I am what's known as a "playtron" though, which means that I do dress up and I do get asked where things are by others "patrons".

There have been experiences where I've seen performers ignore the playtrons and engage more with the patrons, but that has never been my experience with Jane the Phoole.
She takes time for everyone and I have seen that joy and that process first hand, There have been other people that I've met during my many Faire seasons that also follow this process and as such, make the experience that much more special.
Note: If you really want to know how a villain character can elevate and include the audience, I will refer you to James Freer's brief run as the Sherriff of Bristol, Tabitha Burch's work as seductive Baton leader Angelique de la Morte, and Heath Howe's brilliant work as Dr.
Emanuel Proctocus.

I really do think think that this is a handy little book and I agree that the methods are not just limited to working out in the streets during a Faire or other convention.
This book makes it possible to stretch and grow, to include and elevate, and bring a smile to the faces to others, I enjoyed the personal touches and quirks, especially the "David Tennant" story,

Thanks for sharing with us, Jane and AnnElizabeth, I hope to always Make It Worth It, Absolutely recommend to any street performer, A guide for players in improvised interactive environment performance, walkaround entertainment, and firstperson historical interpretation, .
