VERY LOWstars!!! BUT I still loved SOOO much about this book!
Frigid is NOT my favorite book by this very talented authors, and as much as I loved it, I did have a few issues.
The constant misunderstandings and lack of communication throughout this WHOLE friendstolovers trope became tedious and tiring after awhile, And even though I liked both of the main characters, Kyler's voracious manwhoring ways was more of a turn OFF for me, NOT a turn on.
I still fell in love with him but he was no Cam, Daemon, or Hunter! As for Sydney, my heart ached for her throughout most of this story.
I found her character endearing and sweet but her constant lamenting and pining over her feelings for Kyler bordered on the pathetic and made her out to be somewhat of a doormat and a pessimists where he was concerned.
All that said, I very much enjoyed reading this story, I was captivated, enthralled, and drawn in by this couple's complex and endearing friendship, These two very human and charming characters have been in love with each other for years, and I couldn't get enough of their witty dialogue, complicated feeling, and offthecharts chemistry.
They brought this story to life for me and I stayed up most of the night reading their imperfectly perfect LOVE story, Other than a few hiccups, everything about this book is what I love in a good romance,
Frigid is a charming, fun, well written, and steamy friendstolovers story, The happy for now ending was AMAZING! It left me feeling giddy, dreamy, and with a HUGE smile on my face,
J Lynn/Jennifer L Armentrout is one of my FAVORITE authors and I highly recommend this book,

La trama es bastante típica y bastante cliché, y por supuesto, es predecible, pero eso no ha hecho que haya podido disfrutar de la historia.
Si le tengo que poner un pero es el protagonista masculino, A ver, es el típico protagonista del año, el típico chico malo y sobreprotector, Cuando yo antes leía un protagonista así no era tan consciente como ahora de lo tóxico que es, y claro, lo pienso, y sé que hace cuatro años este libro hubiera tenido más estrellitas, pero hoy no puedo hacerlo.
Hay ciertas actitudes de Kyler que no he podido tolerar y han hecho que baje bastante la puntuación,
Me sigue encantando como escribe Jennifer, aunque se nota que esta novela no es la más trabajada, pero vamos, es lo normal, La escribió haceaños y los que somos fans de esta autora, sabemos cuánto ha evolucionado hasta ahora,
Para mí ha merecido la pena, no va a quedarse en mi corazón ni me ha marcado de ninguna forma, pero ha sido todo lo que buscaba.

First of all , I cant believe that I'm rating a J, L. Armetrout book withstars.
It wasnt bad BUT Sydney was frustrating most of the times,
Secondly, shirtless guys should be banned,
Ohh WTH am I talking about
The story:
Kyler and Syd grew up together.
They had known each other since they were kids and they were best friends, Now that they have both grown up things and feelings have changed, They are afraid to face or admit the truth but these two liked each other for a long time,
Kyler is your typical player type and definitely off limits to Syd,
On the other hand Syd hates messing around with guys because that's not her character, An annual trip to his mum's house will bring them closer,
Since their friends wont make it there due to the storm, they have to stay alone, Syd's mind is going craycray and she starts showing her feelings, Things are awkward, actually too awkward but Kyler deals with them as he should and that's why I liked him,
The story is not limited only to the showing your feelings part, This couple is being sabotaged by someone, In the beginning nothing seems serious as it was expected to lose power but then it was obvious that someone was messing up with them.
Kyler: I liked him a lot, He was the definition of a manwhore but like all men he hadn't found someone who will care about, As soon as he realized that Syd was in love with him he started understanding his own feelings towards her too, Syd has a weird way of showing that she loves him but he doesn't want to treat her like some kind of a cheap date and that's one of his qualifications.
Kyler always respected the females and Syd is not different, I loved the fact that he tried hard to gain her but the truth is that he never lost her,
Syd:She is the reason I'm rating this book withstars, Ok I liked her but there were some moments that she needed some serious slapping,
I definitely get it when she is mad at him because he is fucking around, What I dont understand is the fact that she was doubting him,
"What had he meant by that Was he not planning to break the habit because he was still planning on sleeping around"
Seriously
I thought that she was sometimes acting like a child which bothered me a lot but thank God Kyler was there to save these annoying moments.
Overall: I enjoyed it a lot, It was a funny and an enjoyable book, Truth to be told it's not one of her best books but it wasn't disappointing either, I really liked the fact that Kyler wasn't the human version of Daemon Black , like Cam , but even if he was I would have still enjoyed it a lot.

Im seriously rethinking my cleaning project,
First off, the whole premise is misleading,
What we are promised: a charming romance with friends to lovers,
What we get: an endless string of miscommunications, stupidity, clichés, cringy inner monologues, and a lot of drama,
Lets start at the beginning: I really didnt get the relationship between Kyler and Sidney, So they have been best friends since they were kids, Ok, Ill buy that. But that doesnt explain why they basically behaved like boyfriend and girlfriend including the PDA and asinine fights minus the sex, Tyler is just OUTSOURCING THE SEX, And color me surprised, he is outsourcing it to a string of slutty girls, Of course its such a chore for the poor manwhore,
“I was already starting to get a headache, By the way the chick was squirming in my lap she was ready to get it on right now, this was going to be a long night.
”
Sidney, however, is the Virgin Mary:
“Sydney was perfect the actual embodiment of the perfect woman, She was practically pristine and fresh, ”
What is she A piece of clothing I am so over those guys who sleep with anyone willing and see these girls as “used” but secretly yearn for the girls who are more “pristine” Hypocrite much Its clearly not bad that he is a manwhore who cant even remember the girls he slept with when he at least feels bad about his whoring ways.
And that also leads to the fact that he feels he doesnt deserve Sidney:
“She was untouchable to the likes of me.
”
Why, you ask I honestly couldnt tell you,
It was also really obvious that Kyler was in love with Sid from the beginning of the book his jealousy and tendency to scare away any potential dates were a huge tipoff so that got reeeaally old reeeaaally fast that and Sid lusting over Kyler on every frickin page because his abs which he got from running sure , his muscles, his ass and did I mention his abs
Overall, the reasons why they were friends for so long despite their feelings for one another were not explained satisfyingly to justify the entire friendstolovers premise of this book at least to me.
This made me want to tear my hair out,
Also, why are both characters just plain stupid
Exhibit A: Sid gets drunk and jumps Kylers bones, He puts a stop to it and later when she asks why he did, he says “I wasnt that drunk, ” Cue: tears and a freakout 'He rejectedme, Wah wah. ' In Kylers inner monologue it becomes clear that this wasnt the reason at all it was because SHE was drunk off her ass,
Just a small sample of the epic misunderstandings that are going on here and misunderstandings drive me NUTS, Why do I keep reading JLAs books then, you ask She is the Queen of Miscommunications after all, Because I generally enjoy her YA fantasy despite those but drop the fantasy and her writing is just plain unbearable,
The nextare mostly about Kyler and Sid getting it on naturally with a lot of interruptions and more miscommunication, And lo and behold, because the recipe demands another ingredient to make this a waste of a book: there is some lowkey murdermystery plot the world did not need.
Since its been way too long, add another miscommunication involving a supposed OW in epically dumb proportions, Why would anyone make their characters look so clueless and idiotic I was ready to scream in frustration by then,
“Im a lot of things, but Im not that stupid, “ Yes, girl, you really are,
And the whole frigid theme, going so far as to lending the book its title Did not make ANY sense whatsoever.
Just because her stupid ex couldnt get her off the one time they had sex and called her frigid as a result, she is now irrationally afraid of being seen as frigid.
Uhm, Sid, have you considered looking up what the word actually means Then you would know that after experiencing tons of orgasms with Kyler !!, you really shouldnt worry about crap like that:
“What if Kyler now thought I was as frigid as Nate had claimed“Ugh.
And if I didnt already think you were stupid, using phrases like “le sigh”, would already have put you on the “stupid” list.
