full review Katie's Corner
What the hell did just happen I dont get this seriously did he just lose his mind completely No, I knew that Beniko was nuts, but her last statements made me feel like: “Ah, now shes finally broken and will never be whole.
” But, well, sorry for my outburst right now, but I really needed this, and if you have read this story, you do understand me, if you still have to read it, trust me the last pages will leave you so shocked youll be screaming and cursing.
So what do I have here for you This is a work that I have been reading for more thanyears.
Dont get me wrong. Its onlychapters, but when I first started it there were onlychapters uploaded in English and Russian, It was by pure chance that I checked the website for updates on this particular title and got to know that apparently they uploaded all chapters.
![Win 僕らの恋は死にいたる病のようで 1 [Bokura No Koi Wa Shi Ni Itaru Yamai No You De 1] Produced By Haruko Kurumatani File Ebook](https://i1.wp.com/i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1353983975i/16173708.jpg)
I was overjoyed and even forgot that it was already past, I needed to know how the story would end, and my expectations were not ruined, The author just put me through such a great shock and revelation I still doubt I read everything correctly.
And trust me, I reread the last chapter for ore thantimes in different languages, I even found it in Japanese to be sure that I got the last name correctly,
I have read a number of works by Haruko Kurumatani, but none of them were as deep and sadistic as this one.
From the very first chapter until the end we only see the “love” once, And the idea that it does exist makes this story even crueler and asks the reader: “are you feeling this” “What would you have done” I remember every time I read the story which was only half uploaded I was always imagining how the author would turn it around and give us the love that she descried in the very beginning.
Did she Thats for you to find out, The only thing that I will say now is that the author explored the feelings of hatred and love so closely that its frightening.
The cruelty, madness that is in Umis eyes is something that not many author or artists can recreate, He truly is a sadist and a madman, However, no matter what, if you do despise his character for tormenting Beniko, you cant not share some of his madness.
And that is what makes this story so frightening,
Author without any restraint explored the thin line between love and hatred and gives us a twisted form of love, which can also be called “true love”.
Are you ready to explore this frighteningly beautiful world of mutual and unrequited love Are you ready to meet the characters that will question your sanity numerous times inchapters If you are, the Im sure you will enjoy this story.
It is a fantastic piece of art and now that it is complete translated and uploaded theres absolutely nothing that might hold you from reading and experiencing it.
Enjoy it to its fullest and dont forget to share your thoughts below, Especially your thoughts on the last chapter, Who do you think it is Umi or Sora Stay tuned for more reviews as well as promos, Dont miss your next book or manga! Happy reading!

That was messed up.
Hummmm . not sure what to think about this one :/ Whew, That was pretty dark and twisted, Una especie de reseña en el último tomo,
You know the feeling when you and your close friend fall for the same feelings :P then this is the right manga that shows, even though it is simple and not that affecting but yeah is nice.
Its aboutbest friends who are living as a neighbors, The title of this manga translates to something like "Our Love is like Sickness Unto Death", which is more then enough to tell me immediately that this story will be.
. . like, portraying something kinda dark and probably not fully condemning it,
As with all my manga reviews, this will cover the entire series all three volumes and will likely have spoilers, as I want to speak in depth about the content.
The manga focuses on a girl named Beniko and her relationship to a pair of identical twin brothers, Sora and Umi.
They were all close as children, but when the twin's parents divorced, Umi left, but not before pushing Beniko down a flight of stairs and proclaiming he hated her.
As Beniko and Sora got older they grew closer and began a serious relationship with Sora even wanting to get married when they turn.
As fate would have it though, Sora dies on Beniko's birthday after pushing her out of the way of of an oncoming car.
While heavily mourning the loss, Umi comes back into the picture, blaming Beniko for his brother's death and making it his mission to torment her with her own guilt over the situation, using the fact that he looks identical to Sora to further add to the pain he inflicts her.
Ultimately, it's revealed that Umi has always loved Beniko, but backed away from his feelings and tried hard to mask them, as he felt they were a betrayal of his brother, who he also loved, and that he ultimately blames himself for Sora's death, as Umi wished Sora didn't exist so that he could be with Beniko, and that all the torment he inflicts on Beniko threats, verbal abuse, psychological abuse, humiliation, extortion, and sexual assault were projections of his own self hate for feeling like he betrayed his brother by loving Beniko.
On the flip side, Beniko begins to crave the abuse done to her by Umi because she both feels closer to Sora and has always held a degree of affection for Umi, which she kept buried under a similar feeling of shame that she was betraying Sora.
In the end, Umi breaks down and admits to his feelings for Beniko, only to vanish from Beniko's life for a decade.
When they meet again at Sora's gravestone, Umi, still looking like Sora, acts as if it's Umi who has been dead foryears and reaffirms both twins mutual love for Beniko.
Teary eyed, Beniko returns the sentimet, seemingly willing to go along with the madness of Umi abandoning his identity for his brother's in order to cope and be with Beniko.
The overall story is heavily influenced with psychological themes, with mental illness and trauma are heavy factors in the behaviors of both Umi and Beniko, who undergo experiences like survivor's guilt, coping via projection, and selfloathing with selfdestructive tendencies.
I think since the manga isn't outright trying to say any of what happens between Beniko and Umi is healthy/romantic that it doesn't get an immediatestar rating, but I also feel like it missed out on really showing how deeply disturbed these two characters are and how terrible their relationship dynamic is, so it still sort of comes off with a "it's twisted but hot" vibe that I don't quite care for.
The ideas, overall, are pretty interesting and I could see them being better explored in a more expansive series.
I liked the dimensions of Umi, how his feelings for his brother and Beniko become these toxic things in the face of his selfloathing, how he tries to rectify his own guilt and hatred by taking it out on Beniko, only to still love her and feel worse than ever.
Beniko also had a unique dimension in that, in her own guilt and grief, she comes to almost welcome and desire for Umi to abuse her, even becoming enraged when she catches him acting tenderly towards her because she doesn't feel like she deserves it when she views her feelings for Umi as a betrayal.
It's interesting how the dynamic always comes back to loyalty for Soraeven to the point that the only way Umi can reconcile his feelings for his brother and for Beniko are to become Sora and pretend that Umi was the one who'd been dead all along.
It's incredibly short and doesn't offer much analysis or introspection, but, the ideas are interesting, even if the execution just wasn't spot on.
The art can be effective and pretty at times, but also look really awkward, so it's of a middling quality.
