Snag Engagement Of Convenience Written By Georgie Lee Accessible In Publication

have yet to figure out what it is that I, as a woman, am supposed to find at all endearing about a character like Julia.
She's spoiled, petty, cowardly, selfcentered, nonsensical, irrational, filled with self pity, and lacking even an iota of self confidence.
Am I supposed to feel badly for her She's had a rough time of it because she's not acceptable in society, yet she's surrounded by family and friends who love and accept her.
I'm sorry if I'm unable to summon any sympathy, especially considering the plight of all the women who've not had the luxury of money, position, security, and understanding families.

This is purely subjective, of course, Some readers may be able to find some kinship with Julia and no doubt see the romance in the situation.
I, however, couldn't help but wonder what it was James saw in the unlikable little shrew, Not that he was much better, He wasn't bad, per se, but he didn't quite live up to my expectations of a dashing Naval captain.

If you're at all like me and turned off by the "heroines" who have not a shred of confidence or self respect, you might want to steer clear of this one.
One of the worst books I have ever read, The fact that I can't give it "" is also annoying, Daniellas review posted on sitelinkGuilty Pleasures Book s

I have to say that Regency Romance by Harlequin has stepped up to the plate and hit a home run.

This is not your old,s Regency book, It is fresh and sexy!! The way Georgie Lee has written this, I fell in love with the characters and basically everything from the first page.

The characters arent stereotypical and Julia Howard was so spunky and nonEdwardian in what she wanted out of her life.
Captain James Covington was a true Alpha male who I fell for from the beginning, These two characters were so exciting and so fun that I couldnt wait to turn the page.
Refreshing and vibrant. Truly, this is what Regency romance should be this book should be considered the definition of this genre.

There was romance wrapped up in a beautiful historical storyline that never stuttered or wavered but continued to draw me into the Edwardian era.

Georgie Lee, I applaud you for writing such a beautiful love story that needed to be written.
These two people were so passionate!!! And people thought this era was blasé and boring ha!and a half.
. quite a good regency romp that flows along without too many heaving bosoms etc, . you care about the two protagonists and the outcome, So bad, it's hysterical. I thought this book was wonderful! I could completely understand why Julia felt the way she did about her family.
It's all about how things come across to another person, which is not always the way things are intended.
She and James were great together, I always enjoy a wounded hero, I would like to read a story about Paul, His story would be a great adventure! "Lee's novel hits the sweet spot for those seeking a

traditional read: innocent young woman, worldly naval captain, devious cousins, a matchmaking uncle and enough miscommunication to be enjoyable.
" RT Book s I had read the first half of this novel and realised that not much had happened.
But also, I thought the book as a whole was a bit of a let down, Not enjoyable for me a little boring too, Cable Grange is a good reason to scheme, but I wasn't sure there was actually much scheming in the book.
The leads unconventional in their ways seemed more to agree they wanted to be married and were glad it happened and kept remembering it might be a scheme.
But not in a ilikeyoubuthidingit way, more like the plot device was forgotten during the writing way.
I like Captain Covington although his injury seemed slight to have to give up the Navy, The book also felt topheavy, with a whole lot to wade through at the start and then speeding toward the tidy end.
.stars. It was a solid Harlequin Historical Romance read, I couldnt stop cheering for Julia and James!

They are a couple searching for their soul mates, and Georgie Lee leads them on a wild chase to admit theyve found each other.
I thoroughly enjoyed Engagement of Convenience and found the characters, setting and situations believable and intriguing, Youll enjoy it, too! Written with plenty of flair, elan and verve, Engagement of Convenience is an exceptional and enjoyable Regency romance from a new writer for Harlequin Historicals: Georgie Lee.

Julia Howard is no ordinary Regency miss, A spirited young lady who is more at home riding horses and managing the family estate than attending balls and having tea with esteemed dowagers, Julias life revolves around her family and Knollwood, the ancestral country pile that is her most treasured possession.
Whilst other girls of her station yearn to be swept off their feet by a suitable bridegroom, Julia cannot think of anything shed like less than being saddled with a dull husband and being forced to do nothing more taxing than knit or embroider.
Giving up her freedom and independence is not something the resolute Miss Howard has ever considered, but when the dashing James Covington comes to stay at Knollwood, Julia begins to realize that her resolve to stay stubbornly single is slowly crumbling under the handsome captains penetrating gaze

Back in England after an injury had forced him to give up the army career that had been his life, James Covington was looking forward to spending a couple of days at his friend Georges family home, Knollwood, before figuring out what he was going to do next.
Still bearing the painful scars of a relationship that had left him brokenhearted, James had built a wall around himself and vowed never to let anything or anyone close to him ever again.
Having been compelled by his career to travel all around the world at a moments notice, James had never given much thought to marriage until he claps eyes on the unconventional Miss Howard! Julia is as far removed from the kind of woman he usually goes for as it is possible to get.
Yet, there is something about stubbornly vivacious Julia that draws him to her like a moth to a flame!

Whilst Julia cannot deny the fact that she is attracted to the handsome Captain Covington, she mustnt allow herself to become distracted by her inconvenient attraction.
Although she has given her heart and soul to Knollwood, she knows that its only a matter of time until her brother becomes the rightful owner of the estate which she loves with all her heart.
Julia wants to have her own property and be the mistress of her own house, When Cable Grange, the neighbouring estate, is put on the market, Julia vows to do anything to make her dream of owning her own land a reality including marriage! And theres a perfect candidate for the position of bridegroom right under her nose: Captain James Covington.

A marriage of convenience would solve both of their problems in one fell swoop, But neither James nor Julia were prepared for the maelstrom of emotions that consumed them after one simple kiss

Regency fans should make room on their keeper shelves because Georgie Lee is set to become a favourite with readers looking for passionate, enthralling and evocative historical romances.
A searingly emotional and highly compelling tale of dangerous secrets, unexpected desire and irresistible temptation, Engagement of Convenience is an engrossing pageturner with plenty of dramatic twists and turns, nailbiting intrigue and heartpounding romance.

With an enterprising heroine readers will love, a gorgeous hero theyll adore and plenty of action, passion and adventure to keep them on the edge of their seats, Engagement of Convenience is a firstrate historical romance that has winner written all over it!
