Wow the chemistry that develops between Genna and Jayden was OMG! It was not your normal run of the mill let's meet and jump in the sack.
They both took their time even though the chemistry would heat up and you would think

here they go it didn't happen until much later within the story.
This story doesn't have any magic like her other stories this has a bit of jealousy that rears its ugly head, I do have to say when I first started reading this and what Genna ended up doing I was like oh lawd, Jayden is in for it "run, run.
" But it turned out to be a good thing that Genna did, I am so glad that after what Shannon put Jayden through he didn't give up on love but took his time with finding it and making sure she was the right one.
You can tell Genna and Jayden are perfect for each other but will it survive with the heartache that Jayden has been through and the one previous relationship that Genna was in I luckily received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I loved it! The first chapter had me wondering what was going to happen to poor Shannon, Not a happy scenario! But it turns out well and author Ju Ephraime wove an excellent story of steamy sex, suspense, romance, and characters you will not soon forget! Not to go into detail, I want to give this pageturner five all the way! Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Beautiful Love Story . . My heart was breaking as I read the first chapter and was finding out how Shannon broke Jayden's heart, Then the story magically took a turn and I was drawn in by the attraction that Jayden had for Genna, It's a beautiful story about how the heart can heal with the love of another, Ephraime weaves in hot sex, romance, suspense, making you feel every emotion possible throughout the book, This is a story well written and I look forward to reading many more by this author, Well done. Ephraimes sexy contemporary romance quickly drew me into the story, and the scorchingly hot chemistry between Jayden and Genna kept me turning the pages.
The author fearlessly explores the deep scars that Jayden acquired in a past relationship and its intriguing to see Jayden deal with his sexual problems.
When he meets Genna theres instant attraction, but lots of insecurity and obstacles to overcome, I loved the characters and I was emotionally invested in the outcome of their story, This passionate romance is a must read! This is a story well written and I look forward to reading many more by this author.

Scarred and insecure Jay decides to drown his sorrows in a bar, When he meets Genna behind the bar, the first glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel appears, However, Genna's also got her own struggles with old world values handed down from her grandmother, Emotionally heartwrenching with highs and lows, this story had me rooting for the characters to come together, An awesome read! Jayden and his long time girlfriend broke up and now she is marrying someone else, He sucks it up, attends the wedding, then promptly heads to the bar to drown his sorrows, Jayden isn't used to hard liquor and gets so drunk he passes out, Genna, works at The Black Boar and decides to help this poor man, She brings him home to sober up despite her grandmother's disapproval,

Jayden finds himself attracted to Genna, He decides he should offer her a night out for having rescued him, The two begin to date, taking things slow, But, Jayden is so gun shy after the way Shannon treated him, that he suffers from intimacy issues, Genna, not really understanding his reticence becomes frustrated with him,
Things look as though they may work themselves out, but an unlikely person begins to interfere and things become dangerous for both Genna and Jayden.


This adult contemporary romance addresses an issue rarely talked about, and certainly is never addressed in romance novels, and that is the impact of rejection on a guy.
Having been spurned over and over by Shannon, the rejection being so painful, Jayden finds it difficult to pursue an intimate relationship with Genna.

I have enjoyed reading Ju Ephraime's novels, Her style fits my comfort zone for romance novels, "High Steam" is the perfect description for her novels,
The only complaint I had with this one is a feeling I had at the beginning of things moving too fast and feeling rushed.
By the fourth chapter, the pace evened out and we were able to see character growth and get a better understanding of Jayden,

Over all this is a solid effort by this author, I give this one an A,
This is a cool love story with redhot action, It opens with an unpromising scenario: heartbroken Jayden has passed out after drowning his sorrows, when bartender Genna rescues him and takes him back to the home she shares with her Gran.


There's sexual tension right from the start, but how will it work out I won't give the plot away, but I will say that I enjoyed the journey, including assaults, hospital phobia, and a neardeath experience.
What's even better of course is the way steam rises from almost every page! If you're looking for red hot action and a lovely story, you won't be disappointed.
