Take Advantage Of Knitted Jackets: 2 Designs From Classic To Contemporary Written And Illustrated By Cheryl Oberle Displayed As Print
Also like puzzle me this jacket, Lovely patterns! More than one project to complete from this book, Fine. Nicely detailed instructions. A bit bulky and most would probably be viewed as cardigans, When I first paged through I thought the book had been published in the 's, Nope, late 's. Nice to look at, but nothing I'd wear, and so nothing worth knitting, Most of these are less jackets and more somewhat boxy cardigans, and I've never thought that was a good look, at least on me.
Solid, well written patterns. Becoming dated quickly though So knitters be aware that you will have to do some modernizing on your own, I have had this book for over a year and have made three jackets from it, I love the fact that the sleeves are knitintheround and require seaming only at the shoulders unless you three needle bind them off like I do.
Oberle has a creative streak and the book reflects it, I will continue to support her books, because my pet peeve I can take or leave spiral bindings, etc, is correct counts and this book has correct counts throughout, I get very upset when I start a project to then find out that things don't quite add up right you will not have that problem with this book! Great math, interesting designs, little to no seaming a knitter's delight! I completed my first selection from this knitting pattern book, Cusco, a shrug with simple lace pattern.
I loved wearing it so much that I am now working on a spring/summer version in cotton,
The instructions are well written and ably supported me through the uncharted territory of provisional cast ons, There is a nice mix of styles and techniques, and the inspirational quotes with each pattern are a nice touch, Many nice patterns in this large softcover book, wellphotographed and setout, Unfortunately this book also has the major drawbacks I've found in several knitting books lately designs are only charted, not precisely described stitchbystitch I hate charts!, and the sizings are not that generous, being limited to" for the largest sizes.
And it's not spiralbound, a Pet Peeve of mine with crafting books I much prefer all craft books to be spiralbound for ease of use.
But the patterns are both diverse AND interesting, and I liked many of them, although not enough to brave a chart for them, . . Knitting orgasmia. Wow, what a designer! I think I need a cigarette fans self,
I must make most of these varied jackets, I only wish more of them had pockets,
Gotta buy a copy before I return this to the public library, Then, off to assess the yarn stash,
