Gain Do You Want This Or Not? Drafted By Jamie Fessenden Expressed As E-Text
was a sweet story with just the right amount of angst, which made perfect sense, It wasn't tossed into the story just because the author could, Very well done, and I hope that lake regains its former glory, Bryan showed a lot of maturity in the face of pressure, Great story. I've always liked Mr. Fessenden's writing style and this story was right up there, Both Bryan and Todd are trying to figure out their sexuality though Bryan has it pretty much nailed, I enjoyed their sweet romance as it grew from friendship and just sex into something real, Bryan's insistence on condoms was something that rang bells for me as I wasn't always safe, The HEA ending was awesome, Unexpected ending to this sweet little PSA, Hopefully it gets the safe sex message across, The writing's voice was nice, but the characters and their relationships weren't nearly as satisfying, Good lesson about safe sex
Cute short story with a good lesson about safe sex and the conviction to follow those lessons no matter the cost.
.I really like the message about safe sex, especially since it is nonpreachy, You can never be too safe A lil preachy for me although I think that's because of the project it was part of, but cute I think the writing was well done in this short story.
I liked Bryan. He has strength of character and even though he's given an opportunity to have the one guy he's been longing for he's not going to compromise his
standards.
Todd comes across as a bit of a bully and a jerk at times, He's not used to being told no and he doesn't like it, He reacts like a spoiled brat throwing a temper tantrum, While I understood his reluctance to admit his Bi status, I didn't like that he acted as if Bryan was a dirty secret.
I began to like him when he sincerely apologizes and admits that Bryan is right to demand safety in their relationship.
I liked him even more when he's brave enough to claim Bryan in front of all their friends,
Adult read Published as part of the The Real Story Safe Sex Project,
Bryan thinks Todd Coleman is the hottest guy in school, so when Todd confesses to him that he would like to experiment with Bryan, it's like a dream come true.
Their relationship soon develops into something more for both of them, but Bryan's insistence that they stay safe irritates Todd.
One night, when the only condom they have breaks, the resulting fallout causes Bryan to realize sticking to his guns may cost him the best relationship he's ever had.
I loved this short story, I'm not a big fan of loads of love declarations between teenage boys or grown men! so I was thankful that although it was sweet, the dialogue felt 'real' and wasn't at all sappy.
Also liked the fact that the partner who didn't want to use a condom Todd was not portrayed as some kind of safe sex villain just a horny guy caught up in the heat of the moment.
I've read a few stories from The Real Story Safe Sex Project and they've all been excellent and well worth a read :

Absolutely ADORABLE!
A very important message that is beautifully packed in a very sweet warmhearted and thoughtful story!
AND IT IS sitelinkFREE!!!
Highly recommended! Cute little coming out story.
How hard can it be
Even the outcast gay boy in a small town can reach for the and catch the top athlete because of the "opposites attract" theory.
It is so much easier now with gayness being accepted by the younger generation, but it needs a few more generations to stop being such a big issue for all to see.
It is good to be jealous of the characters in a book, because that means the author is reaching out to capture the reader mentally and emotionally, if not physically possible.
I was a gifted nerd with better than average athletic abilities, so I was on the jock fringe as tolerated but not really accepted.
Yet even in the dark ages of gay bashing, I was able to hook up occasionally with some of the most likely jocks.
If I could have gotten past my extreme introvert nature, I could have had more fun, but I was OK with individual sports instead of team sports, so missed a lot of opportunities.
By college I made myself change to at least a pretend extrovert and things got better,
Safe sex is still required for reasons expressed in this story, and more as teens experiment with sex, but never risk unsafe sec for a moment of pleasure.
I is not worth a lifetime of pain and frustration if things go wrong, I really liked this short,
It was nice to read something simple but firm in the safety of using protection in relationships, I think the two view points were dealt with really well too,
I'm sure some men do take things the wrong way sometimes when their partner insists on protection, and may feel like their being targeted not really thinking things through.
Safety comes first though and I think this book did a good job, And of course the couple were really adorable too, A must read.
I wish all the young folk were this adamant about protecting themselves and their partners, but I imagine it's not the reality.
Well done, Mr, Fessenden. Lovely story, well written and believable, And the safe sex message was delivered in a non preachy way, I think the blurb tells you much of what you need to know about the plot of this story, It is sweet, and fumbling, and very real, Bryan and Todd are good together, but they are young guys, and as such, they make some stupid choices, The aim of this story is awareness of the importance of Safe Sex, Fessenden manages to convey the message without getting preachy or losing the readers interest, You care about Bryan and Todd, You hurt with them, you want to strangle them,
If you have GLBTQ teens or young adults in your life, I would recommend this story to them.
It is free and currently available from Smashwords, Heck even if the teens/YA in your life arent GLBTQ I would still recommend this title, I know I am keeping Do You Want This or Not and many of the other Safe Sex Project stories for when my kids are old enough.

I was expecting something totally different of this shortie, and I wasn't disappointed, I loved this book, the characters, and the message of safe sex was different heard, Overall a great one. Really sweet, really effective tale of a rural gay boy who follows what he's learned about safe sex,
The tale is winning and engaging and gets its message across while still being a romantic short tale of two rural high school boys who get together in a very romantic way.
Certainly worth theminutes or so it will take to read, Short and sweet free story, with an important message that thankfully doesn't come across like an after school special, Fessenden's writing is enjoyable as always, The firstperson narrative works well for this story, The characters felt real, as did their actions and reactions, I appreciated how things were wrapped up on several levels, and the ending was sweet, Oh I REALLY love this short story even as a coverSlut, the cover really not satisfied my taste at all! But thanks God the story does!
Bryan had this long time crush to Todd Coleman the hottest guy in school, but the sad thing is he's straight or Bryan think he is straight.
So when one day, out of the blue, Todd confesses to him that he would like to 'experiment' his sudden attraction with Bryan, it's like a dream come true.
Bryan think he's ready enough to be Todd dirty little secret, but after few 'experiment session' with Todd, Bryan found out that he wants more when Todd still not sure with his sexual interest and choose to stay in the closet.
The push and pull feeling between Bryan amp Todd in their secretly time together interesting enough to follow.
I love how Jamie put the 'safe sex education' in this story through Bryan persistence in using protection no matter what.
Recommended! Really loved the writing style, Bryan makes a really good decision and sticks to what he believes is right even when that can cost him someone he cares about.
I really liked how he wouldn't budge, It's a story with a great message,
Short and sweet story ofhigh school boys,is openly gay and the other is starting to have feelings for him, They start dating secretly until they have a huge fight over safe sex, The ending was sweet and left me wanting to know more about how their relationship went after the bonfire, school and the talk with parents.
A short, sweet, wellwritten YA story that highlights the importance of safe sex, Just the right amount of angst, I adored that Todd was so into romantic cuddling and just melted the times when he sang to Bryan, Very sweet coming of age story, With an emphasis on being true to yourself and standing up for who you are both with regards to your sexuality but also with regards to safety.
