1 [Orenchi No Furo Jijou 1] (Merman In My Tub, #1) By Itokichi Displayed In Mobi

I could tear out the scenes with the little sister character and burn them, I would, Other than that Merman in my Tub is a daft, fun series, The main character's begrudging kindness to the various visitors to his overcrowded bath just doesn't get old!,. Super cute I absolutely love this series, It's a bit nontraditional in terms of a manga format, as it leans into much more of the standard comic strip style of things this can take some getting used to for manga readers.
However, the art is stunning, the characters are very lovable, creative, and interesting, I found this book to be a delight to read, and I'm pretty certain I couldn't wipe the grin off my face if I tried.

I found this more innocent style of comedy and wholesome themes to be incredibly refreshing for anime/manga comedy, I'd suggest it to anyone who enjoyed lighter themes and the "slice of life" style, Cute but pointless "story" really more like scenes about a student who finds a merman and let's him live in his bathtub because, . . No reason, really. Tatsumi is a pushover and works extra hours to buy meat and pay for the high water and heat bills, It would make sense if Wakasa became a friend or lover, but he seems more like a highmaintenance pet, And the thing with Tatsumi's little sister wanting to marry him was icky and unnecessary,

I don't resent the time spent reading this but I won't continue unless someone says the story gets really interesting later, I watched the anime a few years ago, and I loved it! The manga is even better! I was finally able to find it at a bookstore, so now I understand more of the story.
The chapters are short, and it's mostly just silly stuff going on, but it's still worth reading for something fun, A bit average as I was expecting more depth to the characters and for the story to evolve, overall not bad though and quite enjoyable in several occasions : Cute and fun story.
Very silly. I enjoy it a lot, The little sister creeps me out a bit, It's a fun story but there's not really much substance to it, There is no plot to speak of, but it is fun to read, A friend of mine said it is a really soft yaoi but I have yet to see any inkling of a relationship beyond friendship, I read this in English just in case anyone was curious, Odd but cute. I had expected it to have a little more substance but there's not much plot, It's very episodic and has very little running plot, so it's a very light read, out of five because the little sister is sexualized and is essentially in love with her brother, aside from that great art, cute episodes, almost wish you could buy the chapters separately, . . or read them at the end of other manga books, I feel the best way to enjoy this series is to read it in short little bursts instead of a long sit down, This was a really cute first volume, I'm curious to see where it goes from here, This was such a super cute manga! I thought the art style was pretty and interesting, I loved the introduction of each of the characters, They get up to some very creative and funny antics even though they are pretty limited to the bathtub, I didn't really understand much of the plot of this but it's super cute! I'm going to go ahead and classify this as yaoi for my purposes though its more action/comedy and vaguely shoujo.
Its just a collection of short stories and the anime is so friggin' funny and hilarious I've watched it several times but I love it!! This is so adorable, even if it is a bit confusing sometimes my opinion.
When youve seen the anime, you will enjoy this manga as well, because it shows a lot more details, After watching the anime, did you really think I wouldn't review the manga

Honestly, this is a great source of laughter if you need a happiness boost.
How else will you keep a merman alive outside of letting him live in your bathtub, stars. I am so happy that Seven Seas is publishing this one in English,

I loved the anime, so I was absolutely squealing when I heard about the manga being licensed, And now, after a long wait, the manga is finally out and I finally had a chance to read it!

I have to say it took me some time to read this one, this I can blame on two things, one a busy day, and two the fact that the anime followed the manga quite closely.
So most if not all of the jokes were known to me, and I can tell you that a joke is fun once, maybe twice, but it gets pretty boring after that.
I was still enjoying myself, and the manga is great, but I just knew most if not all of the stuff already,

Generally the men in this book are pretty hot well if they are in the mood, since sometimes they don't look to yummy.

We have several characters, human and supernatural, and I love them all, We have Tatsumi, who is a teenager but doesn't really look or act like one, I like Tatsumi, though I feel sorry for him, if only he had known what he had dragged to his house, I love how serious he is, but also how fun he can be if he lets himself relax and have fun,
Then we have our second main character, a merman named Wakasa, who is quite selfcentred, an idiot, and also quite playful with the attention span ofsecond.
I didn't always like him, as I found him a bit too selfcentred at times, but in the later chapters he sees that Tatsumi is trying hard and tries to help out.
I am glad that he changed in that way, it makes him a better character,
Then we have an octopus, a jellyfish, a shellfish, Tatsumi's sister, and his friend though he barely seems to be doing anything with said friend, but that might be because the manga is so centred on the bathroom.

There are various holidays that pass revenue, I really like that those were added to the story, it gives the feeling that time is really passing by and that it isn't standing still.

The art is gorgeous and I just love how everything especially the men are drawn, It is mostlykoma, but the story also continues in the normal manga way, I like that this was done, it gave a bit of variety,

All in all, this is one manga and also anime I would highly recommend, I will be eagerly waiting for thend volume to be released!

first posted at sitelink com/ Im not entirely sure what I just read, Not gonna lie, it was kind of boring And a little hard to read
But I do love Tatsumi as a character, and the idea still has so much potential so I may read the second
1 [Orenchi No Furo Jijou 1] (Merman In My Tub, #1) By Itokichi Displayed In Mobi
one, just to give it another chance.
Maybe.
Good read. Funny read. Short read. Sweet read. But confusing cause of the zero plot thing, stars. This story is silly and sweet in a perfect combination, Watched the anime one season that is more or less volumeand just loved, Ordered the following volumessince they have been released in English, Thank goodness! This adorable story involves a highschooler, Tatsumi and his friend living in his own bathtub, the merman Wakasa, Tatsumi's life takes the weird turn when Wakasa moves in and his friends start coming over, The octopus, Takasu, the adorable jellyfish, Mikuni and their little snail friend, Maki, But not just the crazy hybrids, there's also Tatsumi's adorable little sister, Kasumi!
This story is full of heartwarming comedy and I just love it! Although it rarely updates, I still really love the plot.
I recommend this for anyone who could read this in their spare time or just to simply read a chapter when you're taking a break from homework!
By the way, Tatsumi's voice actor also does Haruka Nanase and Takasu's did our greeneyed perfection, Makoto Tachibana.
Both from the swimming anime Free! Iwatobi Swim Club amp Eternal Summer, You my ladies are welcome,

The second volume is also out but it hasn't been translated to English yet, but we need it! I HEARD THERE WERE MINI MIKUNIS AND A SHARK AND I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEED TO SEE THAT!!!!!!!
I'm sorry, fangirl problems.
The anime is honestly better than the manga, First of all Seven Seas decided to edit out SOME of the Japanese SFX and they seem to do it arbitrarily in this manga, Which makes some of the scenes looks goofy, Next the manga is in akoma style format which sometimes doesn't lend itself well to the action going on, Lastly the little sister is even more sexualized on this, Which is super gross since she's whator something, I have no idea why the mangaka decided to do her that way, unless they wanted to attract a male audience
Many people might mark this book as "yaoi" but it so isn't.
It's almost a parody of yaoi with the poses and such that go on,
Overall it was decent but there's not a real lot of deep plot and it's even more short on the slice of life side.
A very cute, fluffy story to read on a nice day, Tatsumi putting up with the spoiled merman Wakasa and building a stronger friendship with him and all his fish people friends was very funny and sweet to read.
I didn't really like Tatsumi's little sister, Kasumi, because of the weird relationship they kept pushing but putting that aside I really did enjoy the little stories! The art was very adorable and I simply enjoyed taking my time and reading it.

Collection of brief, casual adventures between a hs student and the merman and mermans friends he lets live in his bathtub.

Sadly I found this a bit of a slog to get through, The art is pretty, but usually limits itself to a fourpanel layout, which makes things less visually interesting, The plot itself is just a series of mini adventures, which is fine for a sliceoflife comedy like this, but sometimes even the storytelling within those mini adventures can feel scattershot.
The comedy is fine, not awful, not perfect it did get me to actually laugh at one point,

Theres hints/jokes at somewhat romantic tones between the main character and the merman, but since the main character is in high school and the merman is written to look like hes in hiss and is often referred to as old, Im not a fan of the pairing.

Additionally, the main characters little sister is romantically interested in him, her older brother, and there are multiple shenanigans centered on that, which are pretty uncomfortable to read through.

I still might dip into the second volume, or go back to read one chapter the Halloween one was my favorite in the future, but overall, this was kind of a disappointment for me.
