She was a bit too weak when it comes to her father, but she learns her lesson, thank god.
I'm only taking awaystar because it took Sev a while to have eyes only for Naomi and there was mentioning of other women since they met.
And I know he had every right to sleep around as they were only working together but that pissed me off.
I like my heroes completely and utterly obsessed with the heroine,
But these two do get there,
And I loved this one, especially the surprise at the end,

Sev was better than Daniil but his pillow talk with Naomi about not loving anybody was too robotic and sterile.
I just wanted to punch him when he talked like that, excellent read Cant decide iforstars, Very enjoyable! Speeds up and changes happen too quickly at the end, This was an amazing book, The cost of the forbidden is bookin the Irresistible Russian Tycoons series, I really enjoyed the first book of the series but this one made me laugh aloud, I fell in love with both characters, Although Sev was ruthless in protecting his heart from emotions yet he was so understanding and caring, Naomi, The sexy, warm and loving PA was anything but emotion protecting, She was ready to give everything to have a family, I loved her way of caring about her sisters,
Friendship was something of a great value in this series, I'm looking forward to seeing the four orphans back together, The Cost of the Forbidden is Bookof the Irresistible Russian Tycoons by Carol Marinelli, Abandoned by his mother, Sev makes a point of never being rejected again, Closed off, cold and a huge jerk, Sev does what he wants, when he wants and how he wants and allows no emotions to cloud his way.
Naomis sole focus is reconnecting with her father who disappeared and left her to be raised by her bitter mother.
Hired on as Sevs PA leaves long hours working together within close proximity that have tensions brewing, chemistry stewing and feelings growing between the pair.
Ms. Marinelli writes a touching story of two souls wellsuited to one another who have to learn to let go, trust and communicate with one another in order to achieve their greatest desires.
Enjoyable follow on in a series of four The Cost of the Forbidden's I enjoyed this book very much, The leading lady was the perfect mix of strong, vulnerable, sexy and smart, The leading man could be a jerk, but Carol Marinelli lets us see inside his mind and heart so that we and Naomi could understand him and love him flaws and all.
. . Great Job! I loved this because I thought it was so witty and funny with many touching sweet moments.
I was very entertained reading it, The romance maybe was not as full or nor the sexual activities as compared to some other books.
Still I won't change it because overall it was an excellent read, and I will be reading more of Caroline Marinelli! And yes, Sev was an ass but the humour was fab and tongueincheek!
PS I read the UK version which has a difference cover Enjoyed this one but not nearly as much as the first in the series.

Wow. This is the most unusual Harlequin Presents I've read, Really unique hero in fact, one of the most interesting and unique heroes I've seen in forever, I don't remember the last time a book was so unexpected,
Loved it and can't wait to reread, I didn't like this one as much as the first it was trying to be much more than a romance novel but not doing so successfully because of the inherent limitations when writing a love story.

The Cost of the Forbidden is thend novel and tells the story of Sev Derhavin, one of theorphans.
His life is now very different from the time he spent in the orphanage, He has become a very wealthy and successful businessman and ruthless to boot! He does not allow any emotions of feelings touch his heart.
Having been rejected as a child and never having experienced love and family in his life, he allows nothing to stand in his way of getting anything or anyone.
Naomi Johnson is trying to reconnect with the father who had disappeared from her life when she was a small child.
She has also lacked a loving family in her life,
Hired as Sevs PA, she soon realizes that her heart will be broken again by this man who shows no feelings whatsoever for any human being.
But will she be able to walk away from him when she has such deep feelings for him.
I adored these two characters, They were so endearing and likeable,
Theres a lot of passion and chemistry between them and I enjoyed the way their relationship developed.
I liked that there wasnt all that OTT drama and darkness and angst, and the way they open up to each other, I also liked some of the quirkinesss that these two had, . Sev and his coffees!!!! Sugar one day, no sugar the next, its funny that in the beginning I thoughtthis guy is so just not for me, but as the story progressedI actually found myself liking him a lot,
The epilogue left me with such a warm feeling,
I adored the first story in this series, but this one was slowpaced, the hero was charmless and the heroine really needed her head examined when it came to letting her father and the hero walk all over her.
Also, the heroines fiancé gave her a fake diamond ring, never visited her for months, but was arrested for assaulting the hero when they landed at the airport.
His characterization didnt point to that outcome, Same with the commitmentphobe hero suddenly buying a heroine a ring, He also thought the heroine was still engaged when they finally had sex, Who does that
The best part of the story was the glimpse of the H/h from the first story and how that heroine had to leave the epilogue wedding to give birth.
One of my topMampB to reread such a delightfully endearing story with truly fabulous main characters.
I love Carol Marinellis books, Her characters are interesting and they come to life on the page and her love scenes are always beautifully written erotic and romantic.
I really like this series and Sev and Nikolais stories are myfavourites, Sev and Naomis story is just so lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed it, It is full of wit and fun and I found myself smiling regularly as I read, A feelgood romance! I also loved the way she dealt with her father at the end go girl! Adult romance novels are a guilty pleasure of mine.
I now that there are problems with some of them and that most contain love at first sight which I usually hate, but there's just something about these novels that is so addicting.
Overall, this book was enjoyable and a bit different than many of the other adult romance novels I've read.
I'm not sure if I will write more of my thoughts on the book later or if I'll just leave it like this.

Very emotional books. These guys were unwanted the wrong coloring, very neglected, in a Russian orphanage in an extremely impoverished part of Russia.
In my personal experience, extreme poverty is soakedin amp becomes a vicious selfperpetuating cycle of antieducation, alcoholism, drugs, violence, suicide amp early death.
They would've had to do something extreme and extraordinary to break out of that area and the whole vicious cycle.
They would've been better off raised by wolvesat least they would've gotten some social skills or emotional skills in giving/receiving love.
They really sacrificed their own love for each other, sometimes very heartbreaking, to free each other to succeed.

What a disappointing read this was! To be fair, this type of story has been wrung out so many times already by harlequin authors but still, it could have been good except for the lack of chemistry between the two characters.
