Fetch The Taming Of Dark Fay: The Complete Series: Episodes 1 Through 7 Edited By Alice Blythe Presented As Manuscript
was a mixed bag for me, I liked it but I think there was potential for some amazing world building in this story that unfortunately, missed the mark.
The book wassex, story and while I like sex just as much as the next girl, I had a hard time believing that these two fell in love with each other when they barely talked.
They spent the majority of their time together fucking when did the love come into play I guess during one of their mind blowing orgasms because they were basically strangers who were seriously attracted to each other.
Simon, a dark fay dragonshifter, needed a human wife which he was not at all happy about, and Mae was a librarian who meets Simon at work and within hours of meeting, they're fucking over and over and over and over and over again.
I'm not saying that the sex wasn't hot because it was but it became so gratuitous that I found myself skipping over some of it to get to an actual story or conversation between the two of them.
When they get to Simon's realm, I was hopeful that there would be some world building because there was so much potential for a kick ass story but again, were just fucking constantly and barely talking.
I really feel like it was a missed opportunity for the author to create a really awesome urban fantasy/paranormal romance.
What a bummer.
So if you are in the mood for a fun and hot little erotic sex romp than this is your book but if you are hoping for a really exciting paranormal romance with character development and kick ass world building, you will be let down.
Surprisingly good But needed more Soo much more
Surprisingly good, . . But needed more Soo much more There was a lot of good here, sadly everything was left underdeveloped except for their sex lives ,as an avid reader and lover of the PNR Paranormal Romance genre I've gotten used to taking a lot things on faith or for granted ,like "fated mates" and fated mate like scenarios soo being a dragon shifter/needing lots of sex etc.
I was ok w/ would I have been ok w/less sex as well Oooooooo Yeah, but it wasn't the over abundance of sex that got me soo much as a lack of story to balance it out w/.
. This writer to me definitely has a great deal of talent here and I'd LOVE to see more but there was absolutely NO World building here, there are soo many different types of Fae represented in books and stories most are like fingerprints all unique and as individual as the writer telling the story but we don't get to know these Far or really much about Simon or Mae except for how quickly the fall in lust then eventually love w/each other and while they seem devoted to each other all we really get to see is how devoted they are to sex w/each other.
. . Deep sigh This is one of those stories ,that just worms it's way into your heart and despite your self you find your self kinda loving it but sadly it has soo much potential it just doesn't live up to.
. . The writer was about to make care for Simon and Mae but she never let me get to know them or their world,or how they lived ,or their relationships w/others or even their sweet precious child, was sadly all a mystery ,while the epilogue played out odds enough how most of the story should have.
Thank you,Thank you dear writer for giving me characters I could care about soo fully but please give us more story
soo we can love everything as fully as we should Overall I liked this story.
I was intrigued by the idea of a Fay prince who also was a dragon shifter, Definitely a new one for me,
Everything went fast, and that was both good and bad, good because it was a quick read and the plot didn't suffer for the quick pace, bad because some part seemed too rushed, especially Simon's conflict over mating with Mae.
All and all though, this was a pretty great story, with some really hot sex scenes.
Now, if you remove the sex their wouldn't be much book, but still it was pretty interesting.
