Language is complex, pushing new words onto children
Some of the words are slightly outdated, could refer to a History lesson.

This is my favorite of the Katie books we have read so far, Katie goes swimming in a picture, then the water spills out into the art gallery, Katie has a refreshing swim with the bathers in the museum, I don't know why the granny pays for the entrance fee if she's going to nap the whole time, xD Katie is nowyears old and well established as a modernday classic, Join Katie as she meets new friends from the Pointillists and find out how they help her get out of mischief once again! Ages, I love these books by James Mayhew, Katie jumps into the paintings and gives the reader a lovely insight into the painting, the artist and the history of the time through a very readable story format.
A wide age range of appeal, Read to enjoy, or as a great stimulus for teaching, Thoroughly recommended. Another fun Katie book.
