on Poor Girl, Rich Girl

book is about Miranda, who really really wants contact lens because her glasess are sooo ugly and dorky, Her parents say NO WAY cuz they cant afford it, they are super poor thats why miranda gets summer jobs to pay for it, She is kinda sorta competeing with this supposedly very rich girl, Catriona, with everything, They have been enemies since forever, but in the end they are friends, duh. And Catriona says she got a job in an office, So shes alll bragging and stuff, And then Miranda gets a job as a camp counseler, Then camp ends. Then she tries to get a job in the supermarket but she has to be sixteen so she lies about her age, Then her parents are all like 'do the right thing' and she gets all dramatic about it and confesses to the manger, gasp she gets fired and thats that, it has been like/of the book so far, she starts a dog walking buisness and it goes well and soon she earns enough money for contacts and gets them, Shes happy./of the book so far then she hosts her friend's bbrthday party!!and everyones happy, Yayyyy.

This book was OK but everything was too like, . . event after event. there wasn't a moment in the book where i was like worried about what would happen next or really into the book, The ending really sucked because i expected her to realize that she should use her earned money to support her family a bit with financial issues or use her money to give someone what hey really wanted more then she wanted her contact lens for someone e.
g. her mom, who helped her out a lot, is really into thrill books and wanted one real bad instead of buying contact lens so she can LOOK better, but nooooooo she bought the lens and was happy, tHE eND.
Even if I was younger, I think I liked books with a little more thrill, This was about as exciting as reading a diary that recorded daily happenings, but with no dramatic climaxes, I think

I counted two or three times when there was finally some drama in the book, But it only lasted a page or so and became anticlimactic almost as soon as it began,

A very okay read, I just got to the point where I just wanted to know if she got her contacts or not, purely out of sheer exhaustion from reading such a boring book, not because it was a pageturner.
read this when I wasand it was good at the time lol From the author of the very successful IRA/Children's Choice book, Oh, Brother! comes a grand spring read about the hunt for the perfect summer job for a girl who believes "food is always better when someone else does the cooking".
