book is SO cute, I am obsessed with just about every single project in here and I am determined to hone my crochet skills to get some of these projects started and hopefully completed! If you don't know how to crochet there are a bunch of ages or tips and tricks and if that doesn't work, a YouTube video will have you up and running in no time!

The rugs are so cute.
They aren't all rungs there are some pillows, and I think some of these could totally be used as blankets! Toy bags, chair covers, etc, ALL adorable. Great projects to make for kids or adults lol and every single one of these would make amazing gifts! The crabs are definitely my favorites a rug and a pillow.

For quite some time, I've thought that crochet is a hobby easily learned, I have found, through many attempts, that it takes a bit of a knack for it and that you definitely will need some initial help along the way, And of course, there are only so many scarves you can work on before

you need to try something a little more advanced, Or just something new! And so when I saw that you could make adorable animal rugs, I had to try my hand at it,

I found that the first few designs in the book were actually a little more complicated than some of the patterns in the middle/back of the book.
So before you begin a project, you may want to scan through the pages in order to decide where you're comfortable starting, If you're new to crochet, you may not want to start with the most complicated rug, I'm in that category! But there is good news: there are many diagrams and pictures to help guide you, which is nice to have because you can stare right at it as you try to begin your new crochet rug.


I enjoyed this very much and although I'm definitely going to need some more time to hone my craft some people are naturals with crochet I am told.
I'm not one of them this is definitely a great collection of projects to start with, While you may assume they're animal rugs solely designed for children, . . I have a lot of adult friends that are hoping I get the hang of this so that I can begin making them some animal decorations!

I can see my crochet hooks will be put to good use in making some of these wonderful children's animal rugs and matching accessories.
. I know my youngest grandson will love the Dinosaur and my youngest granddaughter, the Kitty Cat, I myself rather like the elephant, The instructions appear to be easy to follow, There are good general techniques, such as blocking and nonslip lining,

Unless it's my Kindle, there does appear to be some illustrations missing, especially at the beginning of the book, Could be the formatting, but the main thing was that there were enough illustrations to see what a particular rug looked like and all the instructions were absolutely fine.

The rugs and pillows include many intricate elements, like eyes and threedimensional aspects, but the book includes special guides to more difficult features at the end, The only downside to the book is that, while it advertises havingpatterns, only seven of them are actual rug designs,

What a great book!! Patterns for any skill level of crochet, There is a wide variety of items and animals, This book also contains step by step instructions along with pictures to show your progress, It would be very beneficial to get a paper copy of this book since there is so many stitches and pictures, You could get a magnet and board to place on either side to get the project done easier,

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review, I have dabbled as I do with most things in crochet multiple times, My crowning glories were the slightly tight winter hats I made for tons of people last year, When I decided to progress to something more cuddly, the online resources or those of my library did not get me excited about any particular project, Even once I began, the instructions seem to mumble instead of explain themselves to me, I have solely taught myself using books and YouTube so I thought that that must be the reason I was having difficulties progressing to making something more substantial,

When I cracked this book open figuratively, since this is an advance reviewer's ecopy with an expiration date on it I was delighted with the tons of instructions provided.
Each of the designs comes as a set, a bag/rug/doll/blanket version of some very cute looking animals, After a cursory surfing through it,I concluded that this would be a book well worth keeping around for projects for both home and for gifting if they come out as good as they look in the pictures, I do not think I would have the heart to part with them.
Even further reading of the book did nothing to change that opinion, I intend to get my own copy once I set up a time for me to crochet in!

Who couldnt fall in love with the cute elephants All the projects are cute and the instructions for each appear to be easy to follow and straight forward.


Anyone who has young children they want to crochet for will appreciate this book, Just dont leave it where the kids can see it because they will want you to crochet each one in the book before you get a chance to catch your breath from the last one.

What a perfect book of patterns for keeping your children or grandchildren happy, The book has colorful illustrations, easy to read patterns and a wide variety of animals, From dinosaurs to kittens it includespatterns, Also a primer of how to crochet the stitches in the book along with techniques to keep you crocheting on the neat and perfect path, The nice thing is also not only the rug pattern but pillows or placemats, blankets and more with each animal, I do think buying the hardcopy of the book would probably be better because of the breaking up of pictures and instructions in the digital format, Perfect gift for the crafter on your list, I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review, As a self taught crocheter, I was never an expert at reading patterns or graphs, which this book provides in loads, For seasoned crocheters, the patterns and graphs are there for the reading, For someone like me, they can be quite intimidating, But this book is there to assist, stuffed to the brim with information on reading patterns, basic stitches, definitions, and even crocheting with the left hand, It is full of useful tips and tricks that make understanding the patterns and diagrams and creating your beautiful projects all the more easier,

Great book for the beginning crocheters, This book is excellent for any crocheter, It includes many explanations and tips to make each project successful, There is a guide for skill level for each pattern, Some are easy, some will take more time or assembly, The patterns consist of written instructions, progress photos, and charts, I think it is good to include charts and written instructions because many crocheters have a preference of one over the other, I love all of the general tips at the end for stitches and blocking, It also includes ideas for making wall art out of the patterns!
The patterns are so cute! There are more than rugs included to give a whole room a theme.
The items are sure to make many children and adults happy and cute additions to any room, The Jeffery Elephant rug is one that I have had my eye on for a long time, so I was happy to see it included in this book! I will recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this craft.
After spending hours online, I found reading Crochet Animal Rugs like a sorbet for the mind, It is adorable! This super fun book features more thancrochet patterns for rugs and matching accessories, The giraffe security blanket is soooooo cute! Also includes a delightful cat, monkey, elephant, dinosaur, bear, and crab, each with a matching pillow and accessory, each as darling as the next.

CrochetAnimalRugs NetGalley This book is so cute, and has a lot of adorable patterns, Each rug pattern comes with coordinating accessory patterns, so in addition to a cute rug you can also make a matching stool cover or book bag or pillow,

Each pattern is clearly labeled with the skill level as well as the finished size, tools and materials needed, stitches and skills used, and even whether the pattern is lefthanded compatible.


I love that the animals include a giraffe, elephant, monkey, dinosaur, crab, panda, and a cat, There's also a section on basic shapes, like eyes and bows and things, so between the various shapes available from the existing patterns and these extra basic shapes, a savvy crafter could conceivably craft an even wider array of creatures.
I personally have big plans to make a boy and girl crab pillow, with the boy crab having a bow tie and the girl crab having a bow in her "hair.
" I can feel a project coming on!

This is a beautifully illustrated book of animalthemed crochet projects, ideal for decorating a child's bedroom, Choose from Jeffrey or Josefina the elephant, Rusty the Giraffe, Sassy the Cat, Rock 'n' Roll Panda, Chip the Monkey, Cranky the Crab or Tops the Dinosaur, and for each one there is a floor rug, a cushion/pillow and one other accessory.
The accessories include things like book bags, a stool cover and security blankets, Out of theanimals there is not one single dud they are all gorgeous, The difficulty might be choosing which one to start with,

And that's where the book comes into its own, with pages and pages of extra useful information and guidance, The patterns have alevel skill grading beginner, moderate and challenging, Although none of the patterns are graded for beginners most are moderate and some challenging, I'd say a determined beginner not a novice, though would be able to follow the additional support materials to produce a decent result on a moderate project.

So what are these materials The author has included general things like terminology conversion from US to British, hook and yarn weight conversion, reading patterns and charts, and advice for lefthanders.
More specific guidance is also included in terms of crochet techniques like how to actually make the different stitches with diagrams, how to change colours, starting, finishing, and sewing stitches for putting the projects together.


At the project level you can choose whether to follow the pattern i, e. written instructions or the chart, Elements that might be a little tricky have additional diagrams so you can see what to do, Anyone who has some experience with amigurumi crochet will find these patterns quite straightforward, I think, But I should point out that although I have read through some of the patterns, I have not actually tested any of them for accuracy, They do read as being accurate though,
