picked up an advance copy at the ALA convention from the publisher, To be honest, Ive never read anything by James Patterson except for his Read, Kiddo, Read website.
In this story, Max is a homeless kid in NYC who is selected for a challenge involving child geniuses around the world.
The winner is supposed to help make the world better, The book has a lot of interesting settings Jerusalem, the DRC, theres plenty of action, and it tackles some complex science.
I enjoyed the book, I thought the pace was good, but Im curious about the intended audience.
I plan on sharing it with my niece and getting her input shes going intoth grade.
James Patterson has a rare gift, While some authors are able to write across genres, one or two, and a few authors can write both adult and YA books, there are only a couple who can write across both Genres and age groups.
And Patterson is the best of those writers, Max Einstein is just an example of this ability which combines humanitarianism, with technology, and the natural sciences.
Great female protagonist!
Max Einstein is twelve years old and has already figured out how to create a background that has let her enter the University of New York.
However, she has no idea who she is or from where she hails, Suddenly, her world is upset by two goons from Social Services or so she believes, They take her to a group home, where she begins planning another escape, But before she can make her move, an acquaintance from the streets arrives with two adults who say she must run, as a shadow corporation is on its way to snatch her.
Not only that but they tell her she is urgently needed in Jerusalem, She has only minutes to make a decision and the only one she can turn to is her hero Albert Einstein.
What would he say or do, . .
Suddenly she is on a private plane headed for Israel, with a secret benefactor covering her expenses and tests, determining who will lead a philanthropic cabal to cure some of the worlds most difficult problems.
. . Is Max the One And if chosen, does she have what it takes to handle her first mission
This book grabbed me within the first few pages and hung on tight until I finished the final page.
It creates a world I would love to see my grandkids grabbing onto and give them meaning for the future.
And if you ever wondered about Albert Einstein, Patterson begins to open up a look at this genius of a man and see how he can inspire anyone with just a little "imagination.

Again, this book evolves around kid geniuses.
If this organization was a real thing, the Lord knows I will NOT be one of the kids chosen I thought that this book was awesome.
I think that, if Dr, Einstein was alive, he would be proud to have himself as Max's hero, She is amazing. No wonder she was the chosen one, Klaus is a bit bossy sometime, though, and he needs to learn who is leader, Max, not him! My favourite character is Max and her team because they worked long, hard hours to bring electricity to who was once a gloomy, dull town and is now a cheery, joyous town.
I'm glad that Max didn't go with Doctor Zimmer when he offered her to, It was obvious that it was trap! I recommend this book to everyone as it is awesome and amazing.
This came so incredibly close to being not only a good book, but a great book.
But I had to ask myself, “Would I be comfortable giving this book to a young person” The answer was no.
The stereotypes were subtle, which was what made them dangerous:
Grownups, or “growns”, are all superfluous.
Genius kids dont like to play or tell stories,
Bad guys dressed in black and theyre big and dangerous looking so you can easily tell them from the people you can trust.
Corporations are evil, and making a profit is inherently an indication that a company abuses humans and the environment.
It is sad that these messages are in there, because the plot is interesting and the writing is good.
I have to say upfront is that I won this paperback edition in a contest on Goodreads.
Who she is and where she comes from is a mystery to her, Max Einstein is homeless and wanted by a world organization because she is incredibly smart, Max is happy her name is the same as her favorite person, Albert Einstein, Max often has conversations in her head with Albert, and hopefully, the answer will come to her when she is trying to decide on a problem.
I enjoyed the adventures Max goes on staying one step ahead of the bad guys, While this is not my typical genre, I did enjoy the change immensely,

and has the biggest heart, but overall this book represents the power of young, intelligent minds boys and girls from around the world who are chosen to make the world a better place.
Max is an orphan with no idea who she is or the identity of her parents.

I won an advanced copy of this book as part of a GoodReads Giveaway, It was a great read fastpaced in true James Patterson form, This is the first of his childrens books that I have read, but I can see that his talent spreads across all age groups.
The characters were engaging and the plot was exciting and interesting, and even as an adult I wanted to continue reading to see what would happen next.
I also enjoyed the scientific and globally conscious aspect of it, and young readers who are interested in science and the environment would too.

În New York, o fetiță orfană deani, pe nume Maxine Einstein, se adăpostește la etajul unui grajd pentru cai, alături de alți oameni ai străzii.

De la primele pagini observăm istețimea fetiței, atunci când îi explică domnului Kennedy, cum poate transforma bălegarul de cal în biocombustibil, pentru a încălzii "casa lor", precum și noțiunile de legislatie pe care le cunoaște și le folosește ca argumente, pentru a opri evacuarea lor.
Cele menționate sunt doar începutul, deoarece aflăm că la acea vârstă merge deja la Universitatea New York prin "modificarea" unor acte.

Aici în Ierusalim, la sediul central al IFSului, se mai află încăcopii dotați, din diferite zone ale țării, ce urmează și ei să susținăexamene, alături de Max bineînțeles, iar unul dintre ei să fie ales pentru a conduce o echipă și a încerca să rezolve diferite probleme din lume.
La primul examen, mintea ia hoinarit pe o rază de lumină, iar când supraveghetoarea a anunțat ca mai suntminute, a scriscitate:
"singura sursă a cunoașterii este experienta"
"nu sunt un pește care urcă în copac "
La interviu, din toate întrebările despre Albert Einstein, Max nu a răspuns nici măcar la una.
. fiindcă toate întrebările erau despre ce a făcut Einstein sau ce a spus, ce a crezut și niciuna despre CINE a fost.
.
La ultimul examen, din celede întrebări, a decis să le memoreze și să răspundă doar la ultimele.
La interviul de după examen la citat pe Einstein: " Idealurile care miau luminat drumul și care mereu miau dat curaj să fac față vieții cu voioșie au fost: bunătatea, frumusetea și adevărul ".
Acestea sunt și idealurile care as vrea sami lumineze și mie drumul, Răspunse la ultimele, deoarece celelalteerau un prolog care conducea la cele două întrebări la care a răspuns.
Acestă argumentare a făcut ca ea să fie aleasă dintre ceicopii, și urma să conducă un grup de adulți pentru a rezolva diferitele misiuni.
Bineînțeles că Max sia dorit ca echipa ei să fie formată din copiii alături de care dăduse examen.
Așa că alături de Siobhan, Keeto, Toma Hana, Vihaan, Tisa, Annika, Klaus urmau să plece în Congo în prima lor misiune, pentru a reconstrui rețeaua electrică, deoarece doardinmilioane de locuitori aveau acces la energie electrică.
Au fost în Congo, nu lea fost deloc ușor să răzbată, Dr Zimm a tot încercat săi oprească, deoarece existau oameni ce nu doreau energia electrică, doreau să aibă în continuare copii ce lucrau în minele de cobalt.
"Pacea nu poate fi obținută prin violenta"
Iar la sfârșitul primului volum își descoperă " binefăcătorul " și aștept cu nerăbdare să descopăr următoarea misiune.
La sfârșitul cărții găsim un joc cu ajutorul căruia descoperim locația urmatoarei misiuni, cum să facem slime, Legile lui Newton, teoriile lui Einstein
