es un mal libro, pero no enganché, Encontré agotador el nivel de citas bíblicas, Como dirían los gringos: not my cup of tea, Igual tenía frases buenas, así que por eso se ganó una estrella más, Una interesante descripción, mayormente autobiográfica, de una célula terrorista en los últimos años de reinado del zar Nicolás II, El personaje principal es alguien sin ideología ni lealtades, un nihilista que se mueve por impulsos primarios pero con suficiente capacidad reflexiva para no engañarse a sí mismo.
Interesante novela, más que nada, por ser el escritor un terrorista como el descrito en la misma y con una capacidad literaria sorprendente por su calidad.

Автор и его герой те ещё психопаты и любители клюквенного сока т. е. , крови и моральнопсихического насилия как над близкими, так и над собой.

Но написано талантливо. Не удивлюсь, если тот же Чак Паланик вдохновлялся творчеством эсератеррориста Савинкова. Чтото у них в книгах общее есть.

Savinkov is no great shakes as a novelist, and consequently this would just be another piece of Russian literature were it not for the fact that Savinkov himself was one of the most dangerous and effective terrorists of Tsarist Russia, and this "novel" is autobiographical.
That makes it, more than a novel, an inquiry into the psychology of revolutionary terrorism, and one of inestimable value and more than worthy of a Dostoevsky, in its depiction of the moral agony of its protagonists.


Savinkov himself, a ruthless killer, is fascinating as are his cohorts, There is no way to "review" his state of mind or the manner in which the group of five revolutionaries, driven to murder by ideology and personal grievances, try to come to grips with what they are doing and to somehow synthesize a morality of terrorism and assassination it is necessary to read the book.
Clearly conflicted by his background as a lawyer and his calculated violation of any and all laws of the Government of his time, he sinks farther and farther into depression as his friends are successively hunted down and killed, profoundly asking "Death respects no laws why should I"
