has a comfortable life with a rewarding career and a beautiful home he remodeled, The only thing missing is a family, When he meets Gemma, she seems perfect for him, and they have a brief courtship before marrying, Soon after getting married, Gemma's family mother, father, and sister need somewhere to stay, Elliot is happy to welcome them into his home for a couple of weeks, but the time keeps passing and his inlaws aren't leaving, In fact, they're taking over his home and starting to destroy other areas of his life too,

Elliot is a decent man who works hard and enjoys his quiet life, He wants love though, and is happy when he meets Gemma, Then his inlaws move in, When his inlaws refuse to leave, Elliot is pushed beyond the breaking point, It's a difficult time for him and Gemma, In some ways it brings them closer and in other ways pushes them apart,

While I enjoyed the story, I did feel it was a little too slowly drawn out, The inlaws are smart though, and stay within the law as they disrupt Elliot's life, Elliot tries to remain calm, but there is only so much that a man can handle,

An intriguing story involving the inlaws from Hell, Good for readers who enjoy family drama in domestic thrillers, Crazy, suspenseful, and entertaining.

This was my Amazon First Reads pick for August, A old Victorian house lovingly restored by Elliott is now home to him and his new bride, Gemma,   Life is beautiful.   Ah, time for Elliott to meet the inlaws,   They had been living in France and are currently without a place to call home,   Mom, Pop, and Sis are invited to stay for the nonce while they find a place of their own,   This segues all too quickly into a nightmare,   The family visitors turn into something more akin to squatters, rude, nasty, and possibly dangerous,   Did I mention the home is located on Cuckoo Lane  Have a care as to whom you invite into your home,   Better yet, cut your losses and don't extend the invitation at all,. “Here to Stay” by Mark Edwards was a Kindle First selection that sounded interesting so I decided to give it a chance, And I have to say, it was well worth my time, The book was a very fast paced thriller that was entertaining from beginning to end, The book tells the story of Elliott, the owner of a beautiful house, who meets, falls in love with and marries Gemma in a whirlwind courtship, Soon after they marry, Gemma announces that her parents and sister are moving back from France and need a place to stay for a few weeks, The fun begins when the inlaws move in and the problems begin to mount between Elliott and his new family members, To say the characters are colorful is an understatement, The more the reader learns about the inlaws the more interesting the book becomes as the drama continues to ratchet up the longer the inlaws overstay their welcome.
I loved the unexpected twists and turns the book takes, and I could really empathize with Elliott as he watches his whole life come apart at the hands of his wifes family.
As the book turns down a darker path it was still entertaining if slightly unbelievable with an ending that fell flat and wrong considering how the characters had acted throughout the book.
However, I still loved the book and wIll definitely try to read some of Mark Edwards other books, He has a gift for writing dialogue and pushing the story at a fast pace so that the reader is never bored, Consider me a fan. The InLaws From Hell!

people, whether its neighbors or inlaws! I was rooting for Elliot and screaming at him to run from this family! I knew something wasn't right with Gemma and I worried the moment Elliot met her.
I felt bad that these things were happening to Elliot, a nice guy that had to be someone he's not, This was definitely a page turner, I really liked the ending:

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review, AudioStars!
Story.Hospitality Be Damned Stars!

This book made me ragey to the point that I was cracking up with laughter,

The main character invites his wifes family into their home, and they wont leave!! They were disgusting, cunning, and downright dangerous, What had me cracking up was how the main character would fantasize about getting rid of them, They were pretty dark thoughts, and I couldnt blame him, Its fair to say his inlaws were from hell and were thrown out by the devil because even he couldnt deal with them! LOL

The ending was messed up.

Dear Author, please tell me there is a bookin the works, and I promise to round up my rating, Here to Stay by Mark Edwards is a psychological thriller,

First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Thomas amp Mercer, and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
All opinions are my own,

My Synopsis:   No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions

Elliott has been a bachelor for a long time.
When he meets Gemma, he falls hard,   Soon they are married, and all is good,   That is, until her parents and sister return from France, and move in to Elliott's home with no clear signs of ever leaving,

The antics of Gemma's family quickly prove to Elliott that he may have made a mistake,   That mistake may have been the quick marriage to the love of his life,   He went into this marriage without any knowledge of her past, and that is coming back to haunt him in a big way,

My Opinions:

I have read a number of books by this author, and they are always aorstar book,   This one I cringed through.   Around themark, it improved, but not enough.   For a while I seriously considered giving itorstars,

I think it was the plot that disappointed me,   This book was just another "innocent man terrorized by someone", this time the inlaws,   His weakness allows him to be at the mercy of her family,   It was just very frustrating,   Elliott is a scientist, therefore he should be fairly bright, that intelligence did not appear,   The plot seemed preposterous, and the ending was inevitable, and foreshadowed a little too much, so there was no real surprise,   I didn't like any of the main characters, feared for the life of the cat, and wouldn't have minded if the whole family Elliott included ended up jailed or dead.

I think it would be a fast read, but I kept putting it down and going to something else that would not aggravate me, so it took me days of agony, should have just ripped off the bandaid and got it over with,

However . . I absolutely loved the last, when Elliott finally stood up for himself,    The writing of course, was great, typical Edwards style,   I can't complain about that,   I also realized, after I was done, that although I hated the majority of the book, it produced real emotions in me, yes, it was anger and frustration, but it was emotion, so it can't have been a really bad book,

Anyway, I am sure there are others that will love it, . . this one just didn't do it for me,
