Grab Instantly Heating Up The Holidays Put Together By Jill Shalvis Available As EPub

is only a review of the RITA finalist novella, "All He Wants for Christmas, . . " by Jill Shalvis. It was a cute, wellwritten story with a bit of a twist the hero wants commitment and the heroine is reluctant.
EMT Dustin Mauer and firefighter Cristina Lewis have worked together for quite some time, They shared a night of superduper passion and Dustin want a real relationship, Cristina has a troubled past and a great fear of involvement, She keeps everyone at arms length, She likes the sex, but is afraid of more, Dustin refused to settle for less, Can they find their way

Nicely done novella long enough for things to happen and feelings to grow.
I liked it a lot, All He Wants for Christmas Jill Shalvis/Cristina is a badass firefighter woman with a suitcase full of issues, fear of intimacy, fear of rejection and fear of weakness being the top three.
She and EMT Dustin had a fantastic night together after which she promptly dumped him because he made her think of happy endings and such stuff.
He refuses to be anything but a friend to her until she agrees to a relationship, because he's already in love with her.
After a particularly hard day, she seeks him out to "scratch her itch," and has him believing she's ready.
Then she's gone in the morning and Dustin finally wises up to the fact that he has to move on.
Only as soon as he does, Cristina finds he's worth dumping her issues, The story is good and very angsty, Cristina is one of those heroines that frustrate the living daylights out of me because she's so set on her tough guy image that she's almost selfish about how much she's hurting Dustin.
In that respect, Dustin comes across as a masochist because he keeps going back for more heartache, I felt for him way more than I felt for Cristina,

My Grown Up Christmas List Jacquie D'Alessandro/Three months ago, Brad walked into a flower shop and fell in love instantly with Toni Rizzo.
Only she's rebuffed all his advances and lied about being involved, Toni is incredibly attracted to Brad, but doesn't have time for a boyfriend since she's so involved with her business and she has a bad history with firefighters, so she holds his profession against him.
Once he wears her down enough for a date, things start moving quickly, but Toni isn't willing to be distracted her focus is her business.
After this story, I'm sensing a theme in this anthology regarding stonehearted heroines and the loving, adorable men they casually discard.
Toni is pretty frustrating, refusing to go out with Brad because he's a firefighter and not because he could get hurt, but because she was treated badly by some firefighters.
She really does hold the actions of a few against an entire profession of people without ever getting to know them.
And it didn't even really hold up because she didn't seem all that traumatized by it and after they slept together it ceased to be an issue anymore.
In fact, this was more about Toni being selfish and not wanting to be bothered with a relationship, Poor Brad. This was still a pretty enjoyable read, but chock full of frustrating heroine,

Up on the Housetop Jamie Sobrato/Continuing with the theme of stonehearted women, Lorelei was a nerd in high school who gave her virginity to the guy she loved, popular Ryan Quinn, who then spent the rest of the year pretending she didn't exist.
Taking the advice of a Kenyan medicine man, Dr, Lorelei Gibson returns to her hometown with the eventual intent of seducing Ryan Quinn and dropping him, taking back her sexual power.
Sound advice that. So she runs into Ryan who remembers all and is super contrite and apologizes profusely, writes her an apology song and plays it for her on his guitar, but it's not enough for Lorelei.
She is intent on her revenge and having meaningless sex with Ryan, This story felt sort of incomplete, It probably could have worked well if the timeline had been longer, Instead, Ryan meets up with her and feels instalove, then he apologizes and the same day she's seducing him into meaningless sex and dropping him.
And because he suffered instalove, he's naturally hurt and the revenge plot works, But it didn't work for me because I didn't buy it, First of all that a woman he's known again for a day could break his heart if it had been over the course of a week and they'd gotten to know each other again and then she'd done it yes, I'd believe that.
But this just didn't feel believable, . . it's not like a day together would mean that much emotional investment anyway, And she felt absolutely nothing for him, which didn't make the sex all that romantic either The only reason she went back to him was to apologize for her treating him like that, not because she even really liked him.
I didn't care for her at all, And in a story where we're supposed to

feel sorry for the heroine, it seems wrong that I sympathized with the poor hero instead.
for Jull Shalvis Two
For D' Alessandro three
for Jamie Sobrato two

overall is Two I read this mainly for the Jill Shalvis story 'All He Wants For Christmas' as it contained characters from the Firefighters series.
I thought it was ok and would have liked to see a longer story tied into the other two.
This was almost like an after thought that I really felt could have been a lot better,

The Jamie Sobrato title 'Up On The Housetop' I am sorry but I didn't really get this story at all.
It was almost like a little page filler that really was a load of nonsense and I could quite happily forget that I ever read it!

The best story of all three of them would definitely be the Jacquie D'Allesandro story 'My Grown Up Christmas List'.
I really liked this little story and wished it had been full length and published on its own as it had a lot of potential.
I bought the book because of Jill Shalvis' story All He Wants for Christmas since it's part of a series.

I really enjoyed Dustin and Cristina's story and it was nice getting to read about characters from Flashback and Flashpoint.

I just wish Jill will write more stories about the rest of the firefighters or maybe about Dustin brother.

My GrownUp Christmas List by Jacquie D'Alessandro was a nice funny story,
I had a feeling maybe it's part of a series but I couldn't find a story about Brad's brother.
stars

Up on the Housetop by Jamie Sobrato was the shortest book in the anthology and it was an o.
k read and nothing more,
In a nut shell, I liked the stories, but I didn't fall in love with them, which makes me give this compilationstarts instead of.

All He Wants For Christmas by Jill Shalvis:
Nice read, I adore Jill Shalvis books, and this had her style, but lacked her uniqeness,

My Grown Up Christmas List by Jacquie D'Alessandro:
This was my favourite out of the three books.
I loved both the characters, and it was a relatively funny story,

Up On the Housetop by Jamie Sobrato:
FOr me this story was too abrupt, It felt too rushed and hence was not quite as enjoyable, Three blazing HOT stories in one!
All He Wants for Christmas by Jill Shalvis
Cristina is a firefighter whose hot for EMT Dustin.
Problem is, she doesn't want anything serious, but he wants commitment, How's that for fiction!
I liked this oneDustin is "geeky" with thick glasses and all and it made me like his character more.
Cristina and Dustin are HOT together, I liked the story it was quick and steamy,

My GrownUp Christmas List by Jacquie D'Alessandro
Toni isn't interested in firefighters, but Brad lights her fire.
She wants to focus on her fledgling flower shop, but Brad keeps coming into the store and distracting her.
She finally gives in to one dinner, which turns into more,
This is my favorite of thestories, It is super steamy and is well developed for a short story,

Up on the Housetop by Jamie Sobrato
Lorelei returns to her hometown to face her pastRyan.
He broke her heart in high school and she is trying to let it go and move on, Problem is, he wants her to stay,
My least favorite of thestories, Something just didn't work for me, It was okay, but
I read this book because of the first story being written by Jill Shalvis, I gave this four because of the second story written by Jacquie D'Alessandro,

All He Wants For Christmas by Jill Shalvis:
I enjoyed getting closure of Christina and Dustin's story as started in earlier books.
This is a nice story, Christina had relationship issues due to her parents or lack thereof, Good story for those who have read earlier books in series,

My Grown Up Christmas List by Jacquie D'Alessandro:
I loved this story, It made me laugh. Brad was great, smart, sexy, confident and funny, His imagination and determination in pursuing a date with Toni was wonderful, I could "see" him so clearly, I laughed and sighed. This was the best use of the Charity Christmas Tree of gifts,

Up On the Housetop by Jamie Sobrato:
This is the only story that needed to be longer.
It was too rushed for two people who last saw each other in high school, It was not a good memory, Now she is a doctor and he is a firefighter, She wants revenge but makes too quick a journey past revenge to desire, The ending was rushed. I liked the two characters, They were complex and admirable, Loralei is a doctor who has served in the Peace Corp, Ryan is of course a firefighter, surfer and songwriter, They deserved a story with more depth and length, .
